Killing Me Softly

Chapter 29:

*NEXT DAY*

~Just For You~

Kenix as always, was in her shop, monitoring everything, when the phone rang. She was getting an uneasy vibe. She answered the phone, “Hello?” she answered.

“Hello Miss Kwok?” a female voice answered, from the other line.

“This is she,” answered Kenix.

“This is Dr. Wu, you came to see me the other day for a pregnancy test,” she explained. “You’re results have returned from the lab.”

“Yes?” Kenix asked, sensing her heart beating quickly, anxiously awaiting the news.

“Congratulations Miss Kwok, your pregnant,” answered the doctor.

Her heart stopped, she dropped the phone on the floor.

~Unique Law Firm~

“Cindy, can you please come in here,” Louis called, through the intercom.

Within a few minutes there was a knock on the door.

“Come in,” Louis called.

Cindy entered, “You wanted to see me, Mr. Koo?”

“Where’s Hsuan?” Louis asked, the blinds on his windows were open, he’s been keeping an eye on the door, waiting for Jessica to walk in. “It’s passed eleven, where is she?” he asked.

“She handed in her resignation letter yesterday,” replied Cindy.

Louis looked at the letter on his desk, “I didn’t sign it, which means I’m not allowing her to do so, she is still obligated to come in on time,” answered Louis.

“Well if she doesn’t come in, there’s nothing we can do about it,” replied Cindy.

“Get me her address and phone number,” said Louis.

“Why?” Cindy asked.

“Just do it,” answered Louis.

Cindy left, she went to get the information on Jessica for him. She was back in fifteen minutes, handing him a piece of paper.

Louis grabbed the paper and his car keys, and left the firm. He drove to Jessica’s flat, and called her.

Jessica had been up for sometime, she was doing some cleaning, to keep her mind off everything. Her phone started ringing.

“Hello,” she answered, as she was dusting.

“Come downstairs,” Louis announced.

“Who is this?” Jessica asked.

“Louis Koo,” he answered.

“What do you want?” Jessica asked.

“Get down here, I’m taking you to work,” he announced.

“Are you crazy?” Jessica asked, “This is absurd. What right do you have coming here to my home, telling me…who, might I just add, just resigned yesterday, to come to work?”

“I’m not accepting your letter,” answered Louis.

“And why not?” Jessica asked.

“If you want to resign, come to me and tell me face to face,” answered Louis.

“I’m not going anywhere with you in your car,” replied Jessica.

“You either come down here, we talk about this in a civilized manner over lunch, or I go up there and make you,” answered Louis. “And we wouldn’t only be talking,” he warned.

Jessica didn’t say anything, her mind began wandering as usual. She was thinking, what if he really came up, what would happen.

Louis began thinking about the same thing.

Jessica finally got a hold of her thoughts she ended up pinching herself, trying not to think of such nonsense. “I’ll be down in five minutes,” she said, hanging up.

Louis smiled to himself.

Jessica hung up the phone and sat still for a long 30 seconds, when she suddenly stood up, ran into her room to change and freshen up.

Ten minutes later Louis saw Jessica, looking exceptionally attractive, in just ordinary jeans and a turtle neck.

She stood beside his car looking at him.

Louis rolled down the window, “Get in,” he called.

Jessica hesitated for a second, but got into the car anyways.

Louis drove to a nearby café, where they had lunch.

“Get me the lunch special today,” Louis told the waiter.

“And for the lady?” the waiter asked.

“Just an ice tea,” answered Jessica.

“Get whatever you want,” Louis said, “It’s on me.”

Jessica looked at him, “In that case, get me the most expensive dish on the menu.”

“Yes, ma’am,” answered the waiter.

“Thanks,” Jessica replied. She folded her arms, “What is it that you wanted to discuss, Mr. Koo?” she asked looking at Louis.

Louis took her resignation letter out from his vest pocket, “I’m not accepting this,” he said.

“And why not?” Jessica asked.

“Because I need you to accompany me to this function, in Macao, for Christmas. We leave tomorrow night,” he answered, showing her the boat tickets.

Jessica stared at the tickets, “Why me?” she asked. “Did you…” she was going to bring up the incident that happened the pervious month when he was being a jerk, and told her off.

“You’re the best lawyer, both skill and look wise, we have in the firm, besides me of course, it’s only logical that I call you to come to advertise,” he explained.

“If the fact that I resigned is too complicated for you to understand, let me dumb it down for you,” answered Jessica, “I quit, I don’t work for you or your firm any more.”

Louis looked into her eyes, sincerely, “Please…I need you, I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he answered.

Jessica’s heart stopped.

Louis looked away, “I meant in business terms only,” he answered. “Strictly business…” he explained.

“Of course business,” answered Jessica, “What else would it be?”

“So what do you say?” Louis asked.

“Should I? Or shouldn’t I? Em’s going there too…a break may do me some good, yes or no,” she mumbled to herself.

Louis chuckled.

“What?” Jessica asked, looking him straight in the eyes.

“You’re the first and only girl I know who actually argues with herself,” he laughed. “Is it that hard? Just yes or no?”

“I’ll talk to myself if I want, you have no right, telling me to whom I can or cannot talk to, even if it is just myself,” Jessica argued.

“Let me ask you something,” said Louis, “Do you prefer arguing with yourself, or me more?”

“I…” Jessica didn’t know what to say. “It’s none of your business!”

Louis laughed to himself.

The food came.

“Bonne appetite,” announced Louis.

************************************************************************

Julian was working at the company, when his cell phone rang. “Hello?” he answered.

“My plans are for today,” said Shawn’s voice.

“So? What’s it to me?” replied Julian.

“Keep yourself busy with Emerald, stay be her side all day today, don’t get let her get involved with any of my plans,” he warned. “I already said whoever interferes with my plans, will not live to see tomorrow.”

“What are you planning for those girls?” Julian asked.

“That’s for me to know, and you to find out,” answered Shawn, hanging up seemingly. He turned to one of his men, “Monitor his calls,” he announced.

“Yes sir.”

“Police equipment ain’t that worthless after all,” Shawn smirked to himself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Julian had to take some sort of action now. He dialed another number.

“Hello,” answered a female voice.

“Shawn’s taking some sort of action today, keep your eyes opened and be careful, don’t blow it,” Julian announced.

“Got it, you can count on me,” she replied.

“Bye, and be careful,” Julian hung up.

Julian was completely unaware that his call had been wired, intentionally by Shawn. He’d some how figured a way to

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I want to know who he was talking to, and where she is at the moment,” announced Shawn. “I want full background check on her.”

He had full access now, in areas involving the CIA and police, the public, wanted them to investigate and capture Ruby Lin at all cost. Though he still had to report to Andy Lau, who later reported to his higher commanding officers, but he had full access to all the equipment, and government funding. All he had to do was say that he was investigating the case, plus a few bribes here and there kept all mouths shut, if not he could have anyone terminated within a moments notice.

Shawn and Edison were recruited by the CIA far long before Gillian was called up upon, they were rookies, that were part of the last team Lau was head of. If Edison hadn’t been screwed, then Shawn would’ve never gained that one chance to show off, the way he does.

Gillian was stuck babysitting Edison, which never needed tending to. Every day he’d just sit at his desk, thinking, sketching Ruby. If not that, then consoling Gillian, with her boyfriend troubles, which seemed to have calmed down.

Jimmy had never apologized or explained why he was drunk that night, using such harsh tones on her. Though he was his back to his average, nice, cute, sweetheart, but Gillian just can’t forget the incidents of that night.

****************************************

Gillian ran up to him, “Jimmy, you okay?” she asked. “What happened? Why did you drink so much?”

Jimmy squinted his eyes, “You’re…”

“Gillian,” she answered.

“You’re not her,” Jimmy said shaking his head and hand.

“I’m not who?” Gillian asked.

“You’re not…Annie,” he whispered before passing out.

*****************************************

“Still thinking about that night?” Edison asked, tapping her shoulders.

Gillian looked at him and smiled, “What night?” she asked, as if she had no idea what he meant.

Edison stared at her, “You say you were born in the States?” Edison asked, looking at her from top to bottom.

“Ya? Why?” Gillian answered. “Both my mom and dad, plus my sister are there.”

“Oh,” replied Edison.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Gillian asked. “I’m taken, and plus Xin Ru’s my friend. So don’t you try…” she warned.

Edison chuckled, “No…it’s just that you remind me a lot of my little sister,” answered Edison.

“Ya? Where is she?” Gillian asked. “I never heard you talk about her before.”

Edison frowned, remembering what happened that dreadful day, when he lost his mother, father, and even his sister.

“Edison?” she called tapping his shoulder lightly.

Edison returned to reality, “Ya?” he asked.

“You okay?” Gillian asked.

Edison nodded, “I was just thinking about some things that happened to me when I was little…like how my sister was kidnapped. She’s about your age now,” he said.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to remind you of sad memories,” said Gillian.

Edison shook his head, “For a second, I was thinking nonsense I was going to start suspect you as my sister.”

“I’m flattered,” answered Gillian.

“Ya…you’re just like her, arrogant and rude, she liked hiding her troubles and worries under her smile,” answered Edison.

“I am not arrogant or rude,” replied Gillian.

“I guess you’re not,” repeated Edison.

“I’d like to have a brother like you, but I’m not that lucky,” answered Gillian. “I got stuck with older sister, who, I remembered clearly, tried to get ride of me many times as a kid. She left me at school, sold me to her teacher,” laughed Gillian.

“I lost my sister before she even started school, she was only three,” answered Edison. “My mom’s dying wish was for me to watch out for her. If I hadn’t lost her, my dad wouldn’t have abandoned me.”

Gillian patted his back, “Though I’m not your real sister, but I can be your sister too,” she said.

Edison looked at her, “I’d like that.”

“Then it’s a deal, from now on you’re my big bro, while I’m your little sis, and Ruby’s sister in-law,” she announced.

Edison smiled and nodded, “Ya…” Edison looked around the office, “Look your boyfriend’s here,” he pointed out.

Jimmy was walking and talking with Andy.

“Come let’s see want sir wants with him,” Edison said dragging Gillian towards them. “Afternoon sir, Mr. Lin…” Edison greeted.

“Sir,” Gillian saluted. She looked at Jimmy and smiled.

Jimmy returned the smiled. “Hey Gil,” he said.

Gillian nodded. “You…” she began.

“Mr. Lin here, was kind enough to spare us some time out of his busy schedule to help us investigate more so on Ruby Lin’s background,” answered Andy.

“I am?” Jimmy asked. “Grandma just told me to come see you, since you and my mom were engaged, what does this have to do with Xin Ru?” he asked. “Wouldn’t Gil and Ed or even those girls, know more about her than I? I’m just her employer,” he explained.

“You three, step into my office,” announced Andy, opening the door to his office. “Take a seat,” he announced.

The three sat on separate chairs facing him.

Vicki had been tailing Jimmy, to find the whereabouts of Maggie. She did as Ruby once did, and snuck into the building, using almost the same method, she ended up eavesdropping through the ventilation duct.

“We need you to help locate the whereabouts of a relative of the suspect,” announced Andy.

“I don’t know anyone who’s related to Xin Ru,” answered Jimmy.

“The suspect’s possible biological mother,” replied Andy.

“I don’t know her mom,” answered Jimmy.

Andy showed him an old black and white photo. “Do you know this woman?”

Jimmy picked up the photo, she looked like Xin Ru, but familiar to him in some way. “I wouldn’t know,” replied Jimmy, “She must’ve aged by now.”

“Maggie Lin,” announced Andy.

Jimmy dropped the photo and stared at Andy. Jimmy looked at the picture, at home all of the pictures of his mother when she was younger mysteriously disappeared, according to what his grandmother had said.

“You’re grandmother won’t let me see her, she said you know where she is, and is the only one allowed to see her,” replied Andy.

“You locking up my girlfriend’s mom?” exclaimed Edison.

“Edison sit!” Andy commanded as if talking to a dog.

Gillian pulled him back down on his chair.

Jimmy stared at the picture, faced down on the floor, he bent down to pick it up, there was a baby in her arms. He looked at Andy.

“This photo was found in possession of Ruby Lin Xin Ru, we confiscated this along with a few other photos in her apartment,” explained Andy. He showed Jimmy the picture of Ruby and Edison from when they were in university. “These two look a like don’t you think? We suspect that this woman, Maggie Lin is the suspects mother.”

Jimmy compared the two pictures, indeed they looked alike. But he couldn’t believe it.

“Maggie Lin may be a useful bait to lure the suspect out,” said Andy, in his heart he just wanted to see her again. “Jimmy, where’s your mother?” he asked.

Jimmy looked at Andy, while Edison and Gillian listened intensively to the conversation.

“How are you positive that the woman in this picture is my mother Maggie Lin?” Jimmy asked.

“Did your family ever tell you who and what your mother was?” Andy asked.

“She was a teacher,” answered Jimmy.

“They said Mags was a teacher?” Andy asked.

Jimmy nodded.

“That’s a whole bunch of bull,” answered Andy. He pulled open his draw and showed Jimmy a photo. “Thirty years ago, whenever anyone heard the name Maggie Lin, they’d think of the CIA’s top team of agents, RAIDERS, first generation, even to this day, no team has come close to what the RAIDERS had, Five males agents and one female. Maggie Lin the media’s favorite. Smart, intelligent, quick, beautiful, daring and the best shot in the history of the CIA. I was lucky enough to be a partner of hers,” announced Andy. “Don’t tell me that I don’t know who Maggie Lin is. Because the woman in that picture is indeed Maggie.”

“What else?” Jimmy asked. “What happened? Why…”

Andy shook his head, “Its still not clear till this day, three of the members, Tony Leung, Leon Lai, and Simon Yam, were somehow involved with the series of murders, and corruptions on the force and were sentenced to jail. Marco had retired, though young but he was tired of all the stress involved in the work we did, he left got married to our office secretary Kathy Lui. Maggie…she just disappeared, I haven’t heard from her since…” answered Andy.

“How did everyone get convicted or left, except for you, why are you still sitting here today?” Edison asked.

“Because he’s a lying cheating scumbag,” mumbled Vicki.

“Pure luck and a lot of dedication, trying to prove myself,” answered Andy.

“Not to mention the fact that his father was head of the CIA in HK at the time they were convicted,” mumbled Vicki. “Pure coincidence my ass...”

“Jimmy, where’s your mother,” Andy asked.

Jimmy stared at the picture, “So does that make Xin Ru my sister?” he asked.

“We aren’t sure the baby in that picture could be anyone. But one thing is certain, Maggie and Ruby have some sort of relation,” answered Andy. “That’s why we need to find her and ask her.”

“Even if you find my mom, she’s not going to say a single word to you,” replied Jimmy.

“And why not?” Edison asked.

“She hasn’t said a single word to me all my life,” answered Jimmy.

“What do you mean?” Andy asked.

Jimmy got up, “Follow me,” he said, leaving the office.

Shawn was listening in by the door, he hid when the four left the office. He entered the room, climbed on a chair and opened up the air vent, “Vicki Zhao, what a pleasant surprise,” replied Shawn. He kissed her, “Why don’t you be a dear and follow them, kidnap Maggie Lin, and I guarantee you that you’ll get your just deserves,” he said.

Vicki wiped her lips, “Don’t kiss me,” she answered.

Shawn smirked, he pulled her out of the vent, “Go after them, once you have a hold of Maggie, take her to Macao first to my father,” he instructed.

Vicki wanted revenge, if she couldn’t take it out on Ruby, then might as well take it out on the one person who actually deserved it, Maggie. She walked away with out a farewell.

Shawn received a phone call, “Hello,” his informant who was trailing Kenix had called.

“Kenix Kwok is pregnant,” answered a voice.

“Oh really?” he asked, liking what he heard. “Lure her to the cabin, I have everything else planned, see you later today,” he instructed. “Is Jack taking care of Sapphire now? Be sure she isn’t hurt too badly,” he asked.

“Yes sir he just left. What about the other girl, Jade?”

“Michelle Yip, a.k.a. Jade, is the most stubborn, arrogant, hot headed one of all. She can kill in a second. She has a boyfriend doesn’t she?” Shawn announced.

“Yes…”

“Get her through her boyfriend,” replied Shawn. “But be sure to lure all the GEMS to Macao.”

“Sir…”

“What is it?” Shawn asked.

“We’ve found the girl JC was talking to. She works at the Pub as a singer, our men have seen them on a few dates before.”

“Pretty?” Shawn asked.

“Most definitely,” he answered, “What are you planning to do about her?”

“If this girl can intrigue Chilam, then there has to be something about her, that makes him come back for more, let’s have a little fun,” Shawn suggested. “Meet you downstairs in two minutes.”

************************************************************************

Louis and Jessica got back into his car. “Where do you want to go?” Louis asked.

“Take me home,” answered Jessica.

Louis nodded, “Right go home and pack for tomorrow.” He started the car and drove off.

There was a silence.

Louis looked at her and smiled, “Are you arguing with yourself again, in your mind?” he teased. He stopped at a main intersection, waiting for the lights to change.

Jessica snapped out of her daze, “You know what Louis Koo...”

The car behind them rammed into Louis car, causing the car to roll into the middle of the streets, cars swerved, horns honked, Louis’ Ferrari was crushed on both ends by two large vehicles.

Louis instantly jumped on Jessica, trying to protect her from anything.

Jessica bumped her head against the cracked window, her forehead started bleeding a bit.

“Aww…Shit!” exclaimed Louis, slamming his head against the seat. “FUCK MY ARM!” he exclaimed moaning in pain.

“You okay?” Jessica asked, with her arms hugging him tightly.

Louis continued moaning.

They were taken to the hospital.

Michelle was working double shifts that day at the hospital, she soon caught word of Jessica’s accident and ran to her aid in the ER.

Jessica only bumped her head, and was a bit shaken up, other than that, the doctor said she was fine. “How’s my friend?” Jessica asked.

“SHIT! DAMN! THAT FREAKING HURTS!” she heard Louis shriek. Soon another doctor brought him out.

“You okay?” Jessica asked.

“I dislocated my shoulder!” answered Louis. “I got to wear this cast now.”

“At least it’s a real one this time,” replied Jessica, trying to lighten the mood.

Louis chuckled. “So?” he asked.

“So what?” Jessica asked.

“Are you coming or not?” Louis questioned.

“Coming where?” Jessica answered.

“Macao,” he reminded.

Jessica looked at him.

“Please,” he pouted.

Jessica nodded.

Michelle came running, “JESS! YOU OKAY!” she hugged Jessica. “You hurt, anything broken?” She was checking her friend.

“I’m fine,” replied Jessica. “He’s the one with the dislocated shoulder.”

“Don’t scare me like this, Benny just told me you were taken into the ER. I thought I was going to lose you just like how we lost Ruby,” said Michelle.

“Don’t say things as if she died or something,” replied Jessica.

“Do you have to stay over night, or something?” Michelle asked.

Jessica shook her head, “I can go home.”

“I’ll drive you home later,” Michelle offered.

“Him too,” said Jessica pointing to Louis.

Michelle looked at Louis, “Okay. I get a break in about half an hour.”

They heard a gunshot go off.

~Pub~

“Hey Bin,” Cecilia greeted, sitting down beside Won Bin. “What are you doing here so early? Finally able to pry yourself away from Michelle? Or are you meeting her here later?”

“She says I’m smothering her too much, she needs space,” answered Won Bin.

“Aww…you miss your hunnie already?” Cecilia teased.

Won Bin smirked. “You could say that.”

“I’ll buy you a drink!” answered Cecilia, signaling the bar tender for a beer.

~Hospital~

(Back Track)

“Why are we in the hospital?” asked Gillian.

Jimmy lead them upstairs to the eighth floor, and into room 817.

They entered a room, where a woman laid on the bed, with many machines beeping. Her face was deformed, caused by a deadly burn scar.

Gillian was a bit frightened by her appearance.

Jimmy sat down beside the bed, and held her hand, “Mom, I’ve come to visit you again,” he said. “I brought a few friends.”

“Jimmy,” Andy called.

“Agent Lau, Gil, Ed, this is my mother Maggie Lin,” Jimmy announced.

”Mags?” Andy called approaching the edge of the bed. He stared at her. “What…what happened?” he asked.

Jimmy shrugged, “I’ve only heard this from my grandmother. The truth is, I’ve never heard her voice, I never got yelled at by her, because ever since I can remember, every time I wanted to see her, I’d have to come to the hospital,” he explained. “When I was a few months old, my mom and I were in some freak accident, she ended up like this, while I didn’t have a scratch on my body, except from a weird scar, on my stomach. Her face had been disfigured. Up until today I didn’t know what my mom use to look at because, Uncle Richard said that all her pictures disappeared one night.”

Andy was standing over Maggie’s motionless body, he caressed her forehead, “What happened Mags,” he asked in a whisper. He looked at Jimmy, “Who’s your father.”

Jimmy shook his head, “I don’t know…I want to know, I’ve always wanted to but no one knows.” Jimmy looked at Andy, “Do you know who my father can be?”

Andy shook his head.

“So how does this tie in with Ruby?” Edison asked.

“Did your grandmother ever mention your mother having a second child?” Andy asked.

“Grandma and Uncle Richard took me in when the cops called them up informing them of the accident,” replied Jimmy.

“How old are you?” Edison asked.

“25,” replied Jimmy.

“Birthday I mean,” said Edison.

“July 21st,” answered Jimmy.

“That’s Ruby’s birthday!” announced Edison. “And she’s 25. You two could’ve been twins, separated!”

“It’s not that ironic is it?” Jimmy asked. “Me and Xin Ru?”

“Your blood type matched the other day, remember?” Gillian reminded.

That was when they heard beeping, it wasn’t coming from the machines, but a tiny device on the floor, a cloud of red smoke went off, a presence of another person was in the room.

Andy fired his gun.

The smoke began clearing out.

Michelle and Jessica ran into the room, just to see Vicki take a patient away out through the window. They ran to the window watching Vicki disappear into the darkness.

“Sapph, Jade, see you soon!” announced Vicki.

“Vicki?” Michelle whispered.

“Vicki…” repeated Jessica.

Edison, Gillian, Andy, and Jimmy, there eyes were burning from the smoke.

“MOM!” Jimmy yelled feeling the bed, finding it empty.

“What the hell’s going on?” Louis asked entering. “Jim?” he said looking at his friend, walking around hand over his eyes.

“Louis?” Jimmy called. “Where’s my mom?”

“She’s gone dude,” answered Louis.

“My eyes are burning!” announced Gillian.

“Sit still, we’ll wash your eyes with cold water,” instructed Jessica, as she and Michelle, went to get wet cloths to wash there eyes.

There vision began to return.

“What happened?” Jessica asked.

“Someone kidnapped my mom,” answered Jimmy.

“What would Vicki want with Jimmy’s mom?” Michelle asked, accidentally letting it slip.

Jessica elbowed Michelle.

“Who’s Vicki?” Andy asked, looking at Jessica and Michelle suspiciously.

“Vicki…Vicki…Vicki…” mumbled Michelle, she looked at Jessica for help.

“Vicki’s the person who stabbed Ruby last time,” answered Jessica.

“Why didn’t you report this?” Gillian asked.

“Because,” answered Michelle. “Vicki’s her sister….well half.”

“Why did she take my mom?” Jimmy asked.

“We don’t know,” answered Jessica. “We thought Vicki died long time ago.”

“Then how did you know she stabbed Ruby last time,” asked Andy.

“Because…” declared Michelle.

“I found a note in Ruby’s pocket, from her calling Ruby to meet her,” said Jessica.

“What else do you two know?” Andy asked.

“Nothing,” answered Michelle. “Seriously.”

“Then why did you hide evidence, do you know how dangerous Ruby Lin is?” Andy Lau declared.

“We hid the evidence because Ruby’s already an escape convict, saving her sister is the only thing we can do to help our friend,” answered Jessica.

“Why did she take my mom?” exclaimed Jimmy.

“We don’t know!” declared Michelle.

“Because Jimmy’s mom might be Ruby’s mom!” announced Edison.

Jessica and Michelle both looked at Jimmy.

“Ew…so we made a bet that you can bed your sister?” Louis asked.

“You what!” exclaimed Edison and Gillian.

“The bet was long over due,” replied Jimmy. “This is serious. I need to find my mom!” Jimmy looked around the room, and noticed a note on the floor. “What’s this?” Jimmy asked opening it up. He looked at it, “It’s a list of things to do,” he read it aloud.

1) Follow Andy Lau
2) Investigate relation between Jimmy and slut, capture slut mother
3) Cottage, capture Leon and Tony, dead or alive

Jessica and Michelle looked at each other and began to panic.

“Leon and Tony?” Andy repeated. He looked at Edison and Gillian, “Chen, Chung, order out the men, tell them to investigate every single one of the cottages in HK, don’t leave any out,” he declared.

************************************************************************

(Julian and Gigi)

Again they were out for dinner. They were at a fancy restaurant, located in a hotel. Julian purposely caused Gigi to drink too much wine, until she was putty in his hands. He carried her upstairs. She wasn’t passed out drunk, but could do anything drunk. Her cell phone rang as they entered the elevator. Julian shut it off. He carried her into a room he had prepared earlier and laid her on the bed, he began undressing her…

************************************************************************

Kenix was at the cottage, she was tipped off by someone that Leon and Tony was in trouble, she had to push her problems aside, and focus on the situation at hand. She approached the dark cottage.

She cautiously kicked the door wide opened, she slowly entered, finding the place a mess, she walked in gun gripped tightly in her hands. Something behind her knocked her out. She passed out.

Leo placed her on the couch, he didn’t want to hurt her. He was just going to leave her there, and tell Shawn she never showed, when Shawn arrived.

“Good job Leo!” Shawn grinned evilly. “Tie her up!” he announced.

Leo looked at Kenix hesitantly.

“What are you waiting for? You want her to wake up and beat you?” Shawn asked.

Leo nodded, he got string and tied her up.

Shawn sat above Kenix watching her sleep, he slapped her a few times to wake her up. Soon enough Kenix was up.

Kenix slowly opened her eyes, it took a while for her to remember what she was doing. She looked up and saw Shawn, “Agent Yue! Let me go!” she exclaimed.

Shawn laughed, “I don’t think so…”

Kenix looked around the room, and saw Leo, “You bastard!” he exclaimed. “Where’s Leon and Tony?”

“Don’t worry they’ll be fine for now,” answered Shawn. He took something out of his pockets. He forced a lot of white pills down Kenix’s throat.

“What is that?” Leo asked, holding Shawn back.

“A treat for her kid,” answered Shawn kicking Kenix’s stomach.

“She’s pregnant?” he asked. “No…you can’t to do that to her,” he said holding Shawn back.

Shawn glared at Leo.

Kenix was choking on the pills.

“Listen Miss Kwok, I’m helping you, you don’t want this kid do you?” Shawn asked kicking her again.

Kenix started coughing out blood.

Leo couldn’t watch he left.

“Leo you bastard! You traitor! Me and Michael saved your life, how can you treat us like this!” Kenix yelled.

Shawn continued beating her. After a while his leg got tired, so he let her run for a while. Kenix made it outside of the cottage, she was basically crawling, there was a line of blood coming from her, a trail of blood behind her. “Leo, take care of her,” yelled Shawn.

Leo stood above Kenix, his gun pointing at her. He closed his eyes and pulled the trigger. He heard Kenix shriek a painful moan. He opened his eyes, saw her, holding onto her stomach crying in pain, blood spurting out.

Shawn came out.

Kenix lost a lot of blood, she began to feel dizzy, and passed out.

It had begun to rain, Shawn rolled Kenix’s corpse into the lake, and her body drifted away with the current.

Leo watched her disappear.

************************************************************************

Michelle and Jessica were in Michelle’s car, “Sapphire, Em and Pearl, they’re not picking up!” announced Michelle.

“We need to get to Leon and Tony before anything happens, keep trying,” declared Jessica. Jess was driving while Michelle made the calls.

They made it to the cottage. Both had a horrible feeling in the pit of their stomachs.

“Sapph!” exclaimed Michelle. “There’s blood on the floor. It’s a trail from inside to the lake!”

Jessica went into the cottage, everything was messed up, the couch was flipped over, pills on the floor, blood, bullet holes in the cushions. On the wall something was written in blood.

Surprise, surprise. You take one gem down, you take them all down! You want answers come to Macao, don’t look for us, we’ll find you.

Michelle ran in, holding a piece of Kenix’s shirt, stained with blood. “I got Pearl this for her birthday,” Michelle said with tears in her eyes.

Both Jessica and Michelle ran out to the lake and started calling out her name. It started pouring.

Sirens were soon heard.

Jessica had to drag Michelle out of the water and took her home.

************************************************************************

“911 Emergency,” announced the operator.

“A woman has been raped to death, at 1701 Jade Street, apartment 209,” he said hanging up.

“Hello? Hello? Sir?” she asked. “Calling all units there’s a report of murder at 1701 Jade Street, apartment 209.”

Jessica stopped the car in front of Michelle’s apartment.

“What do we do now Jess?” Michelle asked ,with tears in her eyes. “What if she…”

“There’s no proof of anything yet, don’t jump to conclusions,” Jessica announced trying to keep cool, but it was evident in her eyes and tone that she was going to cry.

“Where is Emerald? She should be here helping us!” cried Michelle. “Let’s go find her, we need to find Pearl, before something happens!”

Jessica nodded, “They said Macao, that’s where we should go. Go upstairs grab what you need, like your passport and gun, we’re finding Pearl no matter what!” announced Jessica.

Michelle nodded she went upstairs to her apartment. She bumped into a mysterious man, who was grinning suspiciously. She didn’t care though, too much was happening. She opened the door to her apartment.

The first thing she saw were a pair of men’s shoes, then, further off were another pair, then clothes, she approached her room, and opened the door. It wasn’t possible for a burglar to break into her apartment to have sex on her bed isn’t it? There was a knock on the door. She opened it, it was the police. She let them in. “There’s someone here,” she whispered, pointing to her room. “I just got in.”

Won Bin opened his eyes, he had such a headache. He was in a comfortable bed, he hugged a pillow, “Chelly,” he mumbled, but he soon realized that what he was hugging was anything but a pillow. “What the…”

“Police open up!” someone yelled barging into the room.

Won Bin looked at the person beside him, “CC?” he asked shaking her, her face was bruised, blood here and there, and she wasn’t breathing. “Cecilia…” he called.

“Step away from the girl!” announced a police officer, there were at least ten cops there pointing a gun at Won Bin.

He looked around and saw Michelle. “Michelle!” he exclaimed, he looked at himself, he was completely bare underneath the blanket besides the fact that he was wearing boxers.

Michelle covered her mouth with her hand, with tears in her eyes.

“I didn’t do anything…” he stammered.

Michelle turned to leave.

“CHELLY! LISTEN I!” exclaimed Won Bin trying to approach her, but one of the cops tripped him.

“Sir, the girl’s dead!” announced a cop.

Michelle felt her heart shatter, losing Kenix already shattered her life, now this.

“You’ve the right to remain silent, anything you say or do, will be used against you,” said a cop cuffing Won Bin.

Won Bin saw a gun under the bed, he grabbed it and pointed it at the cop. “STOP!” he exclaimed. “Listen! I didn’t do anything!” he announced. “I didn’t kill her! We were just having a drink earlier, I don’t know what happened. You have to believe me!”

“Let the cop go,” announced a police woman. “We’ll believe you.”

“I don’t need you to believe me! Michelle! Believe me please!” he exclaimed, holding the cop hostage, and approaching Michelle.

“I trusted you once,” she cried. She shook her head.

Won Bin switched the cop for Michelle as his hostage. “Sorry, sweetheart, I swear I didn’t do anything, I didn’t sleep with her, I didn’t kill her. I’m being framed!”

“Let me go!” Michelle cried.

“Stay back!” announced Won Bin warning the cops, he picked up his pants, and ran out of the apartment with Michelle, and ran into the car Jessica was waiting in. He forced Michelle in. “DRIVE!” he exclaimed pointing the gun at Jessica.

Jessica drove away from the building where the cops were running down from.

Michelle elbowed him in the stomach, causing him to drop the gun, she choked him, ready to kill him, in just a second.
