I woke up early in order to get ready for the camping trip. When I walked out of my door, no one was awake. I quietly made myself breakfast and ate it quietly. I suddenly heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
“Ryeowook, finally, you’re awake!” I turned around to not see Ryeowook but Donghae.
“You actually wake up at 6:45 in the morning?” I asked as I checked the time.
“Well, I’m excited, this is my first time camping,” he replied as he sat down at the dining table.
“Really?” I said, surprised.
“Yeah, nobody really had the time to take me. Eunhyuk and Sungmin went with their families and past girlfriends but I didn’t want to trouble them and have them take me,” he explained as he grabbed some orange juice.
Is he softening up?
“Donghae?” I started.
“Huh?”
“Have you noticed something?”
“What?”
“You haven’t been mean to me lately!! YAY!! *claps hands*
“Hahaha, that’s what you think! When actually, I have something up my sleeve,” he said jokingly. Why won’t he just admit that he likes being nice to me?
“Well, you haven’t pulled it yet so I can relax for at least 5 hours,” I replied as I wiped the dishes clean.
I checked my suitcases one more time and Donghae drove me to school. I got out to meet Jessica and Tiffany but ignored them the best I could. I didn’t have time to handle with their rants and complaints. I ran over to my group of 4 and prepared to board the bus.
“Ok, so I’ll sit next to Sooyoung?” I asked.
“Yeah, and Sunny and Taeyeon will be together,” Sooyoung said.
We went on the bus and took our seats. Sooyoung and I were chatting on how great and exciting this trip was going to be until the teachers came in.
“Eeteuk! Throwing spitballs on the bus?! And making a ruckus with Mr. Lee over here? You’re going to need to switch seats,” she confiscated.
“This ought to be a good show,” Sooyoung whispered.
“Trade seats with ______ in the back.”
I looked around. “What?! Me?!” I pointed to myself.
“Yes,” she answered.
“B-But…”
“Forget it _____, no one can argue with her,” Eeteuk said as he pulled me over to sit next to Sooyoung.

“Why does she get to sit next to Donghae? She’s already going with him to school! Are they dating?” fan girls whispered throughout the bus.
I reluctantly got up and walked over to where Eeteuk was originally sitting. I took my seat and looked over at Donghae.
“Psh, it’s bad enough that I’m living with you, now I have to ride on a bus with you too,” I said with my arms crossed.
“What? Disappointed?” he said as he took out his earphones.
He laughed and patted the seat next to him.
“Whatever…” I plugged in my earphones and listened to music.

Donghae’s POV:
It was approximately 3 hours until the 1st stop. After yesterday’s incident, things have been awkward between _____ and me. I didn’t even know what came over me.
“Yah…” I said as I nudged _____. She took out her earphones and listened.
“You know what?”
“What?”
“You’re not calling me Jerk-hae anymore! woohoo!” I said as I made a victory pose.
“Oh yeah! I forgot about that name, Jerk-hae!” she said as she continued to listen to music.
*Why’d I have to remind her?*
An hour passed and she was still awake while I was starting to dose off.
*sleep on my shoulder already!*
I glanced at her.
“_______? Are you tired?” I asked.
“No, are you?” she asked.
“Um…”
“What?” she questioned as she looked at me suspiciously.
“I’m starting to get tired, can I sleep on your shoulder?” I asked while pouting.
“Um…ok,” she said as she scooted closer. I smiled and cuddled close. I laid my head on her shoulder and grinned.

______’s POV:
I can feel my heart fluttering and beating so loud that I thought he could hear it!
“______? Don’t you enjoy these endless moments where we don’t bicker?” he asked me as I can feel him breathing on my shoulder.
“Yeah, I do,” I silently said.
*Am I falling for him? No! You can’t! He’s just one useless fish out of water! But then again…sometimes, he can be so sweet…*
I couldn’t help it, looking at his face, I couldn’t help but smile. I took the risk and placed my head on top of his and fell to sleep, a deep, deep sleep. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see him smile of happiness.

I suddenly felt the bus jerk to a stop. I awoke from my sleep and looked down at Donghae. He was still peacefully sleeping on my shoulder.
“Ok students, this is the first stop. Buy food, drinks, whatever you like and don’t forget to go to the restrooms if needed.”
“Donghae ah, Donghae ah,” I said repeatedly as I shook him.
“Huh?” he mumbled as he sat up.
“Are you going to buy anything?” I asked him. He shook his head and again laid it on my shoulder.
“You want to sleep?” I asked. He nodded.
“But I need to go!”
“Don’t go! You’re a comfortable pillow,” he replied as he cuddled closer.
“But I need to go to the bathroom!” I whispered as I shook him.
“Oh! Ok, go, but come back ok?! With food too!” he demanded.
“Fine, fine,” I said as I hurried off of the bus. I met up with Sooyoung, Taeyeon, and Sunny and we bought some food. I quickly went to the bathroom and ran back to Donghae with a bag of food and drinks.
“Finally, you’re back!” he exclaimed as he went through my bag of food.
“Can’t you buy your own things?” I asked him, annoyed.
“Yeah, but yours looks better,” he replied. I grimaced. He took out a brownie and ripped half of it apart.
“Want it?” he asked.
“Sure,” I said as I took the piece of brownie. When everyone was back on the bus, there were another 3 hours left until we reach our destination.
“Time for some sleep!” he cheered as he again placed his head on my shoulder. I sighed. First a mean Jerk-hae and now a childish fish? Mood swings indeed.

About 30 minutes passed and I was wide awake. I just looked out the scenery and let Donghae sleep on my shoulder when I suddenly heard some mumbles.
“_____?” he said.
“Huh?”
“Remember Yoona?”
Was he talking in his sleep?
“Uhuh, I remember…”
“I really liked her…and we didn’t even get to date for 3 months until she decided to take the transfer offer and move to a boarding school in England!”
I can see him sweating and small tears popping out of his closed eyes. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to comfort him in a time like this.
“She didn’t even tell me,” he continued. “She told Eunhyuk and Sungmin to tell me instead. When I rushed to the airport, I only caught a glance at her boarding the plane. I never even waved her goodbye….she left me with a broken heart….” He said as he sweated even more. I reached down and took a towel from my bag and wiped his face. What to do?!
“Um…what do you want me to do?” I asked him.
“Just stay like this…ok? I’m tired of bickering…” did he know what he was saying to me? Does he know how fast my heart is accelerating right now? After that last sentence, he stopped and slept. However, I couldn’t sleep; I kept thinking about what he told me and how hurt he was after he left her without any notice. If she were to come back into his life, I’d have no chance with him whatsoever.
