Chapter 48

stepping into the unknown *

As Van and Wing slowly inched upwards the stairs cuz they look really old and ready to crumb apart. Wing was in the front, holding the flashlight while Van squeezed on to his arm and walked behind him. Suddenly, the steps gave out and Van’s leg fell got trapped in the stairs.
Van: aaaaaiiiiiii!!! (she screamed, grabbing harder to Wing’s arm) [aside: it was the scream that the group heard in the doorway before]
Wing: hey don’t hold on too hard…I’m losing blood circulation here…
Van: I’m stuck…come here and help me up….
Wing tried pulling her up, but her leg was wedged in real tight. Van could feel her leg is tangled between the floorboards and something is crawling up her leg….something that feels like SPIDERS!!
Van panicked and tried more desperately to free her leg with Wing’s help.
Wing: what r u made out of?? Ur so heavy!
Van: me?? I’m not heavy, ur just too weak!
She moved too much and part of the stairs broke away. Van fell thru the hole, but she was quick enough to hold on the edge. However, her grip was slipping so she screams for help.
Van: Wing! Wing! Help me u stupid idiot
Wing reaches for her and then there was a loud, CRACK! BANG! BOOM! And the whole staircase falls through, carrying Wing and Van down into the darkness…...

Meanwhile everyone walked in, they all stood by the door.
DMS: eh..
Lei: let’s start looking. We'll all come back in 3 hours alrite? Everyone call if any things happen
Others: okay
But still they all stood by the door.
Maddie: are we gonna get moving or not? I don’t like to play standing games.
ZY: so scary.(she shivered)
Nikkie: scary mut? let’s get moving, what is there to be scare of? it’s just old and dark. (rolled her eyes) Ai ya you guys all scared? I understand if the girls are scared, but you all 3.. so big and tall (looking at the guys) Without waiting she started walking.
Suddenly
Nikkie: AHHH
DMS: you scream mut ar? thought u weren’t scared?
Nikkie: ahhh!!! (She ran back towards the group.)
Meizou: wats the matter? (he asked concernly towards nik)
Nikkie: mouse…
SC: MOUSE? WHERE?
Maddie: ewww.. mouse!!!
Lei: calm down
DMS: ai ya you women so loud, just a mouse ja mah!
XY: Ximen(she tugged at Ximen’s sleeves)
Ximen: it’s okay, just a little mouse.. Think of it this way, it’s really small, can’t do anything to us, and plus he’s probably just as scare as us
XY: mmm okie (she nodded tentatively)
SC: not just a mouse la (she yelled towards DMS)
DMS: ai ya you so loud, must scare it away la..
SC: WHAT DO YOU MEAN SO LOUD?
Zao-zi: eh.. let’s not argue now
Lei: let’s resume looking for van.
They parted ways.

Meanwhile Meizou and Nikkie are walking down the hallway towards the stairs. It was really dark, but Meizou used his penlight as a flashlight to light the way. Nikkie looked around for any signs of Van but had no luck.
Nikkie: ai ya.. where are they? and to think that stuffy is trapped in this dark place, poor teddy
Meizou: wah you more concern for a stuffed teddy then a human!
Nikkie: I’m worried about Van too, but it's just that everyone else is concerned about Van and 4got about Stuffy.
Meizou: umm why is stuffy here?
Nikkie: some one called.. blab blab blab (tells him)
Afterwards Meizou turned around and grabbed Nikkie's arms (when she was done talking). NikKie tried to shake free, but MZ’s grip was too strong.
Nikkie: what do you want? We’re here to look for van and my teddy.. I don’t have time to..
MZ: look we got to talk..
Nikkie: not now (avoiding his eyes)
MZ: listen to me, it wasn’t what Ah Si said
Nikkie: then what is it tell me… can you truthfully say you never doubted me?
MZ:..
Nikkie: there you go, you can’t even say out loud, for god’s sake you’re not even looking at me.
MZ: Look, the only reason why I was worried an thought that way.. was because you are very important to me.
Nikkie: I dunno.. she turned around.. (for a sec she lost her senses and didn’t know what she was doing or thinking and where she was..)
MZ: Nikkie?
Nik: I’m sorry, but it just hurts that someone I love would doubt me… let’s work it out later okay? I’m really worried about Van since I got her in such a mess.
MZ: alrite(he reached and held Nikkie’s hand)
