They drove to Jing’s house, actually it was her family’s house, it's was like a holiday house… the guys held the girls hand and entered, they paused briefly by the door, showing their invitation cards.
They all stood and talk for a while..
Jing: hey everyone, welcome!
All: Jing!
SC: you look very pretty today, congratulations!
DMS: eh Jing, where’s ur husband?
Voice: someone talking about me?
Jing: Everyone, this is Seth, my husband.
Seth: nice to meet you all. (He nodded his head)
Jing introduced her friends to Seth. They shook hands and talked for another couple of mins.
Suddenly...
Voice: I would like to welcome you to Miss Teng Tang Jing and Seth Winsberg's Engagement party. Can the bride and groom to be and their families please come on stage to give us a few words?
Mr. Teng (Jing’s father): I’m honoured today to annouce the engagement of my daughter to Mr. Seth Winsberg. It pleases me to announce that their wedding will be in 3 weeks. I hope that all of you will come and join us for this wonderful occasion.
Jing: I welcome all my friends and family in Taiwan and across the world to my engagement party. Thank-you for all your blessings and thoughts, I’ll always keep them in my heart. I hope you have a good time tonight and hope to see you all at my wedding in 3 weeks.
Seth: I welcome all my friends from around the world to my engagement party as well and not to forget my family. Now everybody have a great time, enjoy the food.. music. And let the party begin!
The orchestra played some classical music for ballroom dancing, Jing and Seth started to dance.
Then all her friends joined in..
Ximen: may I have the honour?
Xy blushed and nodded, she took Ximen's hand and he led her to the dance floor.
MZ: May I please have this first dance with you? (he bowed)
Jasmine: my pleasure. (she cursied)
Ryan: May I? (he held out his hand)
May: of course. (and accepted his hand)
DMS: you want to dance SC? Can I have this dance with you? (he held out his hand)
Sc smiled and took his hand, he swirled her around and led her to the dance floor.
Wing: well.. my turn.. will you like to dance with me?
Van: no. (she stubbornly looked away)
Wing: WHAT?
Van: shh.. (feeling flustered) fine.. I’m only doing this cuz I don’t want Jing to be embarrassed. (she grabbed his hand and dragged him to the dance floor.)
Wing smiled: eventually I’ll get my way (he whispered)
Lei: so.. will I get the honor and have this first dance with you?
Nikkie: sure (she smiled)
Maddie: hey let’s go dance!
Qing he: fine..
Yamen: my love, will you have this dance with me?
Zao-zi: I thought you weren’t going to ask, of course!
On the dance floor, things weren't going as smooth as predicted...
Wing: Will you stop stepping on my feet? (talking in a soft tone so ppl can't hear him)
Van: well excuse me! It's not my fault that I can't dance...remember the dance competition?? I didn't want to dance...but they made me anyways...and now you're force me to dance with you...It's all your fault. (she whispered back)
Wing: At least you can make an effort to avoid my feet. You step really hard.(he winced)
Van: fine, I'll stop dancing. (She stopped in the middle of the dance floor where everyone can see them)
Wing grabbed her closer to him and kept moving.
Wing: what do you think you're doing?? I'll lose face if you ditch me in the middle of the dance floor!
Van: well it's either your hurting feet or you losing face. It's your choice.
Wing looked pained: sigh...fine...just keep dancing...my parents are going to lose face if I'm embarrassed in front of so many ppl.
But Van took sympathy on him for choosing his discomfort over his love for his parents. So she tried really hard to follow Wing's steps and avoid stepping on him. Soon she realized that ballroom dancing isn't as hard as it seems.
Meanwhile...
SC: can you stop spinning me around and around?? I'm getting dizzy.
DMS: but that's the way the dance goes. How come you keep on tripping on yourself?? I can't always catch you before you fall you know. (he caught her again, just in time before she fell flat on her face)
SC: well I'm not a good dancer...I can't keep up with u and it seems to me we keep going in circles....why can't they make dances where ppl stay in the same place? (she muttered)
DMS: well you didn't have any problems dancing with f3 during the time we were on the cruise ship.
SC: really?? well then it proves that you can't lead well.
DMS: what? I can't lead?? I'm the best dancer of f4!!
SC: isn't MZ the best dancer??
DMS: n/m..stupid woman, just keep up with me. I promise I won't let you fall. (he hugged SC closer to him)
On another part of the dance floor...
Zao-zi and Yamen are half dancing and half fighting for who should lead the dance.
Yamen: can't you see all these other ppl?? they let all the male partners lead them.
Zao-zi: well that's just silly. We girls could do just the same thing. Besides I want to improvise, this ballroom dancing is getting boring.(dancing in a upbeat move)
Yamen: you look like a beginner dancer in this room. And it's making me look stupid. Stop doing that!! Just follow my steps...
Zao-zi: But but...I just want to have some fun. I like doing my own thing...This dance has been around so many years, it's time for someone to change it a little to keep up to style and that someone should be me! (she swayed her hips and moved around)
Yamen grabbed her and stopped her from making a bigger fool of herself and whispered in her ear.
Yamen: If you don't behave, you'll embarrass your parents and not only will they think I'm a bad influence to you, they won't accept me as your bf.
Zao-zi stood still. She thought: OMG, he's rite. I was having so much fun that I forgot the consequences...sigh fine I'm let Yamen do what he wants cuz I realy want my parents to like him.
And so they continued dancing.
The guys and girls danced, then they switch partners. Some where relieved to change partners and some didn't want to leave their partners. But the song ended so they had to. The new partners were: Lei with Jing, MZ with Nikkie, Ryan with XY, DMS with Zaozi, Yamen with SC, Wing with Maddi, Qing he with Jasmine, Seth with Mayomi, and Ximen with Van (some these are kinda expected right?-author)
Lei: you look beautiful tonight.
Jing: thanks, why are you here with Nikkie?
Lei: because I am here with her, there's no special reason.
Jing: oh.. then SC...?
Lei: SC is with Ah si, nothing can break them up I’m going to give them my blessing just like I gave you mine
Jing: Lei..
Lei: let’s not talk, let’s enjoy our dance.
Jing: okay (and smiled)
MZ: umm..
Nikie: you want to say something?
MZ: you’re very beautiful tonight..
Nikkie: thank you..(and avoided him by looking away)
And so they danced in awkward silence.
Meanwhile...
Ryan: hey pretty girl.
XY: hey yourself.
Ryan: I never had a chance to apologize, I’m sorry if I caused anything between you and Ximen.
XY: it’s okay, because of you, our love is as strong as ever.
After a while everyone was done dancing, they went over to their table and sat down to cool off.
DMS: eh SC come.
SC: where?
DMS: to see my parents and I have to show you around to all the auntie and uncles, you will be my future wife, so you have to get to know them and get accustomed to these gatherings.
SC: I don’t want.. I’m gonna stay.
DMS: come on, it's just a very short walking around the room, the room's not so big. (He pulled SC up from her seat)
SC: no la.. DMS, don’t force me..
SC and DMS pulled back and forth…playing a mini tag o' war
The others watched them struggle with each other.
MZ: you know maybe we should do something. Something bad might happen.
Ximen: we won’t want them to embarrass themselves or Jing.
May: what should we do?
Van: break them up?
Wing: how?
Van: ugh.. so stupid.
Lei: separate them by force? If might not work.
Meanwhile SC and DMS was still playing a game of tag o' war and their voices got louder and louder. Fortunately only people around them seem notice, because the live orchestra was very loud.
Suddenly both DMS and SC let go together without letting each other know, they both fell backwards and they knocked over a server who..
Knocked down the wedding cake!
“crash”
The room was fulled with silence, and DMS and SC was sprawled on the floor and the 2 servers. Pieces of cake and cream where on the 2 servers, SC and DMS.
No one said a word, holding their breath, waiting to see what will happen next. The usually hot tempered DMS didn’t speak either, he gave the 2 waiters a cold stare thinking that if they didn’t walk by, the wedding cake wouldn’t have fallen over. It's worst enough that only him and SC fell on the floor but at least the cake will still be safe.
F4 and their friends got up to help DMS and SC up,
MZ and Ximen helped up the 2 servers.
Server 1 and 2: thank you Ximena and MZ sao ye.
Wing and Yamen helped DMS up.
Lei went over and helped SC up, on Sc’s face a bit of cream from the cake, he took his finger amd wiped it off her face and then put it in his mouth.
Lei: yum! I’m so hungry, now can eat! (he grinned)
Sc: HZL…
All his friends turned and looked at him like he’s from outer space.
Suddenly a voice filled the silence in the room.
Seth: ladies and gentlemen please calm down, everything will resume back to normal in a few minute, don’t worry we have a backup wedding cake. See everyone, I told you you should always have a contingency plan..
All the business men in the room groaned and laughed at his joke.
Then the music came back on and dancing and chatting resumed.
DMS: SC, you okay?
SC: yeah.. sorry…
DMS: I'm at fault too.
MZ: wow, you 2.. actually didn’t quarrel over this.
DMS and SC: did I ask for you comment?
XY: you guys should go clean up.
Ximen: well didn’t we bring backup suits and gowns? (the same looking ones—they got 2 gowns for each girl and 2 suits for each guy.. just in case.. all same style)
DMS: yeah..
Ximen: Ah Si I'll go with you to clean up, XY go with SC,
MZ: who knows where the extra gowns and suits are?
Van: I do, Mayomi and I organized it so we arranged them, since Mayomi is busy, I’ll go get them.
Wing: I’ll go with you, you can’t go into the men’s bathroom later… so I’ll go.
Then the 2 of them left.. and Ximen, SC, DMS and XY left to get freshen up. They went and changed. Wing and Van passed them the backups and then waited outside for them. When the other 4 came out, they started walking down the staircase. While Wing wasn't paying attention, Van stuck out her foot and tripped him on purpose.
Wing: what the? ahh..!!! (he tripped an stumbled down the stairs. He ended up hugging a guy at the end of the bottom of the stairway)
Van thought: there’s my sweet revenge, too bad he didn’t fall...
Wing got up and straightened himself, everyone around him laughed and snickered. He turn around and glared at Van. She just stood there looking very innocent.
He walked up to her and grabbed her arm:
Wing: just what were you thinking?
Van: getting my revenge on you!
Wing: u.. u.. shouldn’t have done that, you could have embarrassed Jing again.
Van: oh…I didn't thought of that... (looking very regretful)
Wing pov: I really wanted to yell at her, curse at her, and slap her, but when I saw her face I couldn’t do any of that.. so I just told her not to do that again or at least not there, cuz this was a very important day for Jing.
Meanwhile DMS finally got SC to where his mom and dad is by half dragging and half carrying her.
DMS: ma, ba.. this is SC.
DMC: so this is your so called gf?
SC(gulped): bau mu, bau fu.
DMC: well, what a pretty lady you found, Ah Si?
DMS: huh? ( a little confused by his dad’s words and actions, he was prepared in battlemode to fight but his dad surprised him)
DMF: why are you surprised, Ah Si?
DMS: i.. i..
DMC: you thought we are going to separate you guys again? (chuckled)
SC and DMS nodded.
DMF: not anymore.. but...(she looked at SC)
SC: but?
DMC: no more buts... I can see true love in my eyes.
DMS: thanks dad, thanks mom
DMF: you 2 go have fun.. Ah Si, did you bring SC around to meet all the aunties and uncles?
DMS: yes mom.. we already did.
DMF: good. SC, I hope you get used to it and don't be shy, when you 2 graudate, i'll have a wedding for you 2 to get married, now is the right time to get to know all the aunties and uncles.
SC: er thanks bau mau. I'll remember and i won't make a scene and emabrass you or uncle or Ah Si.
DMC: very well, you 2 can leave now.
Meanwhile back at the table, everyone was just talking and hanging out.
Suddenly 2 men approaches.
Voice 1: Sao ye, fu ren and master wants to talk to you.
Voice 2: sao ye, please come with me, master and fu ren wants to see you.
Lei: Nikkie and everyone, please excuse me.
Voice1: Master wants you to bring this lady with you..
Nikkie: me? (she pointed to herself)
Voice1 (servant): yes, sao jie. Please follow me.
Wing: well I’ll see you guys a little later.
Servant2: Sao ye, bring your date as well..
Van: me.. as well?.. great I don’t have a good feeling about this.
The servants brought their sao ye and date away to a table, ironically the 2 familes were seated at the same table
Wing: ma, ba
Van: Mr. and Mrs. Yamazaki, it's a pleasure to meet you both. I have heard many things about you from Wing. (she cursied)
Lei: ba, ma I’m here. This is Nikkie (he gestured)
Nikkie: Mr. and Mrs. Hau Ze. Pleased to meet you.(she bowed)
Wing and Lei’s parents beamed.
Parent’s POV: must be their gf, I was thinking of match making them. But not anymore. Their gf are so well mannered, must be at least from middle class family. And they’re very pretty too.
Mrs.Y: have a seat the 4 of you..(she gestured to the seats acrossed from them)
Wing, Van, Lei and Nikkie had a seat.
Wing: ma, ba what’s the deal here?
Mr.Y: is that how you speak to your dad?
Wing: sorry lor..(he mumbled)
Mr.Y: look at Mr. Hauze Lei, so well mannered, to won't hurt you to take some lessons from him.
Lei: call me Lei, uncle, auntie.
Mr.Y (to Mr. HZL): your son is very well mannered unlike mine, so spoiled. I apologize for his behaviour.
Mr.HZL: it’s okay..I understand what it is like to be teenagers… (he smiled)
Mr.Y: I’m here to introduce you guys to each other. Our business had just came into partnership with Mr. HZL’s company. But I see you’ve already met.
Lei: yes, we did.
Meanwhile Maddie and Qing He were wondering around, they saw the 4 of them sitting at a table with adults and wanted to sneak closer to listen to their conversation. They crept closer and closer and closer. They hid behind a big vase and listened to their conversation while whispering to each other.
Mrs.HZL: Lei, I’ve seen that you’ve grown up. You found yourself a pretty and well mannered gf.(she praised Lei)
Mrs.Yamazaki: same with you, Wing. Mrs. HZL and I were going to arrange a match making session together with 2 other young ladies for you 2 together next week... but now I see that you've found your own gf, we don't have to worry anymore.
Mrs HZL: now we see there's no need.
Van: but… (Wing slapped her hand under the table and told her to be quiet and gave her a warning look. Van wanted to protest, but the look Wing gave her so really scary, so she shrunk lower in her seat)
Luckily Mr. or Mrs. Yamazaki didn’t seem to hear her…
Wing POV: Ai ya, I know Van isn’t my gf.. she doesn’t even like me and I'm so sure she'll find a way to get revenge on me again for not letting her talk.. but I do kinda like her, tho that’s not the point. The point is there will be NO MATCH MAKING!!.. hai.. lie to them for now, I'll think of something else later.
Lei POV: wah.. so close, eh I know Nikkie likes MZ, but for now, I have to use her to trick my parents and who knows, maybe we’ll develop feelings for each other, if that, then it’s good my parents will probably accept her, since she’s from middle class, my parents not as demanding as Ah Si’s.. hai! no time to think of this stuff… I just wanna get out of a match making situation. Everything else, i'll deal with later..
Upon hearing this, Maddie and Qing He wanted to do something to tell Lei's and Wing's parents that they were lying.
Maddie: did I hear it wrong? Or did they say they’re bf and gf?
Qing he: but they’re not..
They started to debate this question and their discussion got louder and louder.
Maddie: but they’re not going out!!!!!!
Qing he: you heard it with your own ears…
Mr. Yamazaki: Wing, are those your friends…? And what are they talking about?
Lei and Wing got up to check who it was, Maddie and Qing he came from behind the big vase.
Mr.HZL: what’s the commotion?
Qing he and Maddie at the same time: Nikkie and Van are not..
Wing and Lei knew what they were saying and quickly covered their mouth.
Mr. Yamazaki: what is it Wing? let them speak..
Reluctantly, Lei and Wing let go of their hand.. they gave them a cold stare and mouthed (don’t tell them,..) then walked back to where they were sitting.
Maddie: umm
Qing he: nothing..
Maddie: it's nothing important..
Mr. HZL: we’re waiting.. (he stated sternly)
Maddie looked at Nikkie and Van, they were both pleading her to tell the truth and get them out of this mess. But she alway glanced around and saw Lei and Wing clinching their fists as if they will beat her up if she says the truth...
Maddie took a big glup.
Maddie: well Nikkie and Van are...(she hesitated, not sure what to say)
Mr. Y: yes?
Maddie: sick..(finally the fear of being hurt by two guys won over her 2 trapped friends. She looked at Nikkie and Van, silently telling them - sorry)
Mrz. HZL: what? Sick
Maddie looked at Nikkie and Van for help..
Van: but…(Wing slapped her hand under the table again) it’s not very serious. I’m feeling a lot better (she winced and lied. She glared at him, warning him that he's not going to be very happy later when she gets away from here)
Mrs. Yamazaki: that’s good to know. Well then I better let you 2 off and get some rest and have a good time. Maybe this atmosphere is too tense for you, since you’re sick.
Mr. Yamazaki: you need to see doctor?
Wing: oh no..it's not very serious. Only her tummy hurts.. that’s all..
Van thought: yeah of course my tummy hurts, it's knotted with frustration that I can't get out of this situation.
Meanwhile Nikkie was still looking for help...and feeling very nervous, so she started to fidget. The table began to shake.
Mr. HZL: what's happening?
Lei noticed that Nikkie was fidgeting and shaking her leg to relieve her tension and that caused the table to shake. So he put a hand on her leg to tell her not to shake anymore and reassure her that everything will be alrite.
Mrs. HZL: Lei, you’re gf seems kind of dazed, is she alright?
Lei: she’s umm having a cold and have a headache.. she had a fever earlier too.. is that right, Nikkie?
Nikkie: yeah..
Mr. HZL: then you 2 should get some rest, go and have some fun and make sure she eats a lot.. Lei, don't stay out too late, bring her home tonight so our servants can take her of her.
Lei: um okay..
The four of them along with Qing he and Maddie turned to leave.. when…
Mr. Hzl: Lei, I’m going to leave tml afternoon, I won’t get to spent time with you and get to know Nikkie sao jie, but next month we’ll be holding a birthday party for you, please bring nikkie sao jie as your date, I want to get to know her better and introduce to your uncles she’s your gf..
Lei(gulped): alright dad.
Mr. Yamazaki: I’m leaving soon too, I’ll have dinner with you and Van soon. I hope I’ll see you 2 at Hau Ze lei’s birthday party.
Wing: sure dad.
The 6 of them walked away.
Lei (whispered to Nikkie): you’ll have to pretend to be sick tonight, just in case my dad send people over to spy.. from now on.. we have to be gf and bf for a while.. here lay ur head on my shoulder and pretend your head hurts, so it looks more real..and you'll have to move back to my house for a while...
Nikkie POV: -.-‘! what is this Lei getting me into.. ai ya.. if this was gonna happen, then I should of come with him in the first palce… stupid Lei.. now I have to pretent sick.. =(
Nikkie: but… I don't want pretend to be bf and gf. (She hissed)
Lei: sshh.. be quiet! we’ll figure something else later.. (he said quietly. Then he spoke louder so his parents could hear) hush.. it’s okay.. we’ll go take a seat back at our table and I’ll get you a glass of water…
Nikkie (rolled her eyes): thanks but umm I feel dizzy.. (she was cursing inside her brain. Stupid Lei!) (haha-author)
Meanwhile Wing said the same stuff to Van.
Wing: Van.. does ur tummy still hurt? we’re almost back at the table, be careful of what you eat tonight. Here let me hold you.. (put his arms around her shoulder and waist)
Van: what the..? (she jeered)
Wing: yes, you have to watch what you eat. Now don’t whine (he stated loudly so his parents could hear. Then he whsipered) bear with me for now.. I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be match to some girl I won't like, so pretend to be my gf for now, we’ll figure out something out later,.. plus look it’s not just us.. Lei and Nikkie are in the same situation.
Van: okay for the sake of your parents (she whsipered) Fine.. I’ll watch what I eat tonight..
Meanwhile Qing He and Maddie was very lost, they walked ahead back to the table.. and announced to everyone that Lei and Nikkie was really going out and so was Van and Wing.
MZ POV: what? Lei and Nikkie? How can she move on so fast? Plus Lei and Nikkie don’t match.. hey why do I care? I thought I love Jasmine now.. eh.. anyways when did they start out?
DMS: What? Lei is going out with Nikkie and Van is with Wing?
Zao-zi: I guess there’s more underground romance then we figured.
Then Lei, Wing, Van and Nikkie came back.
Wing narrowed his eyes around the table..(he turned to Van)
Wing: you sit here dear, I’ll get you some food.
Van:… eh.. okay.. (she blushed)
Everyone looked at her…
Van: what? Stop staring!
XY: hey we want an explaination.
But before anyone could continue…...
Lei: here be careful (pulling out the chair for Nikkie) I’ll get you a glass of water.. lay your head down on the table if you’re still dizzy.
Nikkie: um okay.. (she looked around at the table tentativly.. then went on with her act and laid her head down on the table)
Jasmine: what is going on? And you’re sick, Nikkie?
MZ: if you don’t feel well maybe you should go back.
Then Lei and Wing came back.
Their friends looked at the expectingly.
Lei and Wing gave them a "we’ll explain later" look.

hehe wedding end next chapt.. then i have something on lei.. van... wing and nikkie, and sc and dms.. =)

so hahah sorry i threw in that lei.. nikki twist with wing and van.. in.. don't worry lei and nikkie 90% won't end up together.. =)
