3 hours before the dinner (actually)
Ximen: you remember the instructions?
Van: yes.. I think so
Wing: eh go change and get make up.
Van: Hey don't order me around. I'll go on my own will.
An hour later Van got dressed and had light makeup on.
She was walking down with her dress and heels when..
“rsssss” a ripping sound can be heard.
Van : oh no! (she stood there and froze. She didn’t dare move an inch)
Wing: what the hell did you just do?
Maddison: obviously she ripped her dress. (she rolled her eyes)
Wing: AHH not now.. geeze!
Van: well I didn’t mean it, I have to walk properly with a long dress and heels. I've improved much since the first day.
Madison: well what are you guys gonna do?
Wing: there’s only 2 hours left, I can't drive her to the mall and pick a dress then go to restraunt, it might be too late and my parents hate people who aren’t puctual, we should arirve earlier than them and yet they’ll be early too, so technocally we only have 1 ½ hrs left.
Jasmine: you have another dress?
Van: no..I don't like wearing long dresses.
Lei: can anyone lend her a dress?
Girls: no or they don’t fit her.
Wing: god, why are you playing this trick on me now?
Nikkie: I can help you try and sew it up, my mom taught me before… or she attempted to teach me..
XY: yeah I can help too
SC: me three…
Van: gum? (she looked at Wing)
Wing: worth a try since it’s the only option left
Van: there’s always an option of not going. (she looked at him hopefully)
Wing: NO.. (he said kinda pissed)
Van: alright...(looking disappointed)
Nikkie: here go change first then me, XY and SC will sew it up for you…
So Van went to change, and Nikkie, Xy and SC attemtped to sew it for her. The quality wasn’t so bad, you can’t see the rip, but when Van wore the dress she felt that the fabric wasn’t held together tight enough (like the inside layer)
Van: oh yeah, you guys think it’s too late for you all to book a room beside ours and give me some moral support?
DMS: with normal people yes, but we’re F4 plus we got Zao-zi and Jasmine here, we can get as much room as we like.
Van: so can you guys go?
Everyone: yes!
Van: thank you! (then she walked up to everyone and gave them a hug)
Fastforwards. Van and Wing was side a room in a restaurant, their friends were next door. There was a piano inside the room. From the other room.
Madison: is it just me, or do you guys find it weird that there’s a piano in that room where Wing and Van is?
XY: yeah why is there a piano there?
Jasmine: if I’m not mistaken, it must be planned by Wing’s parents.
MZ: they want to test Van on her musical talent.
Nikkie: well at least she can play piano, or else she’ll be screwed over.
Then suddenly the door open. Wing’s parents came in.
Wing: ba, ma
Van: (she hissed to her friends and Wing) what’s my lines?
Everyone else except Wing’s parents and Van: -.-‘! How can she forget now..and it’s so early.. sigh! gonna be a long night!
Mr. Y: lines? What lines?
Van: excuse me, sorry uncle, auntie. Nice to meet you.
Mrs. Y: it’s alright, nice to meet you too. Have a seat.
So then Wing and Van sat down.
Van shook hands with Wing’s parents and then sat down
Mrs Y: so son, I see you found a good and pretty gf here.
Wing: yes mom.
Mr.Y: how long have you 2 been going out?
Wing: uh 2 months now
Van POV: what? 3 months!! I can’t believe he’s making up such a lie, I just came to Taiwan for like 4 months!
Then Van stepped on Wing’s foot. While he was drinking tea
Wing: ouch!
Mrs. Y: son, what’s the matter..?
Wing: um nothing mom, umm tea is too hot that’s all.
Mrs. Y: well be careful.
Wing turned and gave Van a cold stare while she looked away innocently.
Mr. Y: so your name is Vanessa right?
Van: yes, Mr. Y.
Mr. Y : tell me about ur family.
Van POV: what? He’s doing a family check on me? What am I suppose to say? Geeze! Oh am I suppose to make something up or what?!
Van hissed to her friends.: what am I suppose to say? (while giving Wing’s parent a fake smile)
Madison: sister!
Van: what? (puzzled by Madison’s one word answer)
Madison: ur sister!
Van: OH (she whispered back)
Van: um I have a younger sister whose about to start university this year. She’s one year younger than me.
MRs.Y: what about ur parents?
Wing: mom.. dad, you’re gonna scare her.
Mr. Y: shush I’m not talking to you, why are you so rude to interupt us?
Wing: sorry dad (he mumbled)
Van: umm my mom…(she looked around the room uncertainly)
Van: my mom .. my mom is a university math professor.. and my dad…he’s um a engineer for Microsoft.
Mr. Y: I see, nice stable job in a good company (he smiled)
Van POV: eh his smile is really scary and why are my friends and Wing looking at me like they want to kill me.. did I say something wrong? And what's this about a nice stable job? is he weighting how much I cost or something? Like an asset?
Then the food arrived.
First it was appetizer.
You were suppose to use a small fancy fork to eat them, but Van picked up the wrong fork.
From the other room, her friends were peeking in through the connected door.
Jasmine: oh no, I told her to remmeber the correct utensils, she’s using the wrong fork.
XY: ai gum dim ah?
Lei: hmm let’s give her a signal.
Ximen: with what?
Lei: ah hem (very softly. But no one heard him.)
Ximen: ah hem (a lit louder, but still no one heard him.)
Madison: here
MZ: what are u doing with a piece of napkin?
Madison ripped a little piece off, squashed it up and threw it at Van.
The rest of them was about to stop her.
It hit Van’s chair.
Lei: yo watch it, what if it lands on the able then we’re screwed.
Madison: what? I have good aim!
Suddenly someone’s phone rang.
“ring ring”
Wing: um excuse me. It’s mine.
Wing: hello?
Nikkie: wei, we’re on the other room, trying to get u and Van’s attention, but you guys are too into eating, you pigs!
Wing: yes? And? (trying to sound polite cuz his parents are in the room)
Nikkie: ai ya, so well mannered haha, you know Van is using the wrong fork, anyway keep better eyes on her… geeze nothing much bye, we’ll be watching.
Wing: okie thxx.
Mr Y: who was it?
Wing: just a friend, that’s all
Mr Y: well you should have ur phone off, while we’re having dinner.
Wing: okie. (he turned the phone off, then turned to Van and motioned to her, she’s using the wrong fork)
Van switched back to the real fork she’s supposed to be using, and then mouthed sorry to Wing.
Altho Mr and Mrs.Y didn’t say anything, they actually noticed.
While they were eating and talking. Van was nervously squirming in her seat. Suddenly she felt a gush of wind on her back. She took a quick peek and couldn’t believe what was happening. The dress was starting to rip again. She nudged to Wing for help, but there wasn’t anything Wing could do.
Van: um excuse me Mr and Mrs Y. (she then picked up her purse and left for the room pretending to go to the washroom. Then she went into the other room where her friends were and to seek for help.)
Van: guys! I need help~!
Lei: what's the matter?
Van: umm my dress… it's kinda of falling apart!
Nikkie: guess our sewing ablility and qualiies aren’t that great! HAHA
Van: I can’t believe you still got mood to laugh at me.. I need help people!!
Meanwhile XY was checking the rip.
Jasmine: can you pin it up?
XY: no, you can see, the rip is too close to the hem
Zao-zi: um? Anyone have anything she can wear on top? Or change into?
Everyone: no
DMS: ai she can’t change anyways, Wing's parents will know.
Van: well, is there anything we can do? I’m desperate here, and u know I don’t want my dress to fall off and I have to go soon hurry please!
They looked around the room. But no one had any idea
Mrs Y: what’s taking ur gf so long?
Wing: Maybe she’s lost or something, I’ll go find her.
Then he left the room, then proceed to his friend’s room.
Wing: wei, my mom is getting worried and if u don’t go back soon, they’ll suspect something
Van: well I need to fix my dress first!!!!!!
Ryan: SHHHHH!!!!!!!
Van: opps!
Then, Zao-zi came up with an idea.
Zaozi: hey these curtain are white and lacy like ur dress.. can we?
Ryan didn’t wait for anyone to answer and yanked the curtain down.
SC: but the curtain isn’t ours..Ryan…
Ximen: eh we should help Van first plus, they’re cheap quality anyway, I can buy them ten thousand times better quality curtain and it won’t cost me anything.
Lei: enough…
Van wrapped the curtain around, but it looked ridiculous and it was too obvious…
Van: now what?
Yamen: cut a piece out and tie it around ur waist like a bow.. so u don’t need this whole thing, and it won’t be as obvious~!
Jasmine: oh right!
Wing: can we hurry up here! (looked very nervous)
DMS then helped Van ripped a piece off the curtain then XY and SC helped Van tied it around Van’s waist to cover up the ripping part.
Zao-zi: now you be careful
Van: thanks guys.
Then Wing pulled Van out of the room and hurriedly ran out and went back to his parents room.
Mr. Y: what took you guys so long
Wing: um had a hard time finding her and she was lost.. That’s all
Mr. Y: now that dinner is over, Vanessa, would you please play us a song on the piano?
Van: sure (she smiled)
Van went to the piano and played a couple pieces of music. Her skills surpised Wing’s parents.
They smiled and applaud.
Then the meeting end.
Mr. Y: well it was nice meeting you, Vanessa, I hope I’ll see you again, and if my son bully you better tell me!
Van: thanks Mr and Mrs Y it was nice meeting you too.
Mrs. Y: Wing remember to bring Van to Lei’s bday party in 2 weeks.
Wing: alright.
Then Wing’s parents left.
WING: YES!! WE SUCCEED!
He picked Van up and spun her around
Van: ahh yo put me down.. stop spinning me!
Wing: opps.. sorry
Then the other friends from the other room, came in and..
Everyone: wooo…!!!
Van blushed.
Wing: woo what you people?
MZ: nothing let’s go home.
