It was the night before Lei’s bday party.
Wing: ai tml we'll see my parents again…
Van: and?
Wing: just reminding you..
Van: you want me to be well mannered and all that? Don’t worry, I made a promise to you and I’ll keep it, okay?
Wing: thanks..um...
Van: I wonder how Nikkie is doing?
Wing: stressing out?
Van: she usually don’t care about anything. So she doesn’t usually get stressed, tho she’s a lit hard to figure out sometimes. Even after all these years I’ve known her..
Wing: well, no sense in us worrying.
Meanwhile at Lei’s house.. Nikkie was leaning on the railing at lei’s house balcony. She was staring into the sky
Lei walked by and saw her. To him, she seems troubled, sensing that it might be something to do with his bday party tomorrow and feeling guilty he decided to go and console her. He didn’t want to distrub her so he tiptoed in.
Nikkie: ai no need to tiptoe..
Lei: ai how you know? Usually people can’t hear me, you got eyes on the back of ur head?
Nikkie: yeah I do (she rolled her eyes)
Lei: what’s troubling you, little girl?
Nikkie: nothing.
Lei: sure.. ur eyes give it all away. If it’s about tomorrow, then I apologize in advance, I know you might be stressed out, none the less I’m glad ur helping me.
Nikkie: why do you always call me little girl?
Lei: isn’t that the way you like it?
Nikkie: well..never mind, I don’t know what’s gotten over me, just wondering about a little question. Night, my beloved !(she went over and gave him a kiss on the cheeks)
Lei: night.
The next day at school during lunch time.
DMS: ai everyone better get home and prepare.
Ximen: same deal as last time, we have the girls get prepared at your house, ah Si?
DMS: fine with me..
Lei: ai Nikkie is gonna come with me, so you guys don’t need to worry about her..
Nikkie: why?
Lei: hai! Just come (and he dragged her off)
Van: wait..!! she promised to.. n/m!
Madison: what?
Van: she promised to help me get dressed up. Altho we’re getting professional help, you know Nikkie always has her own style and all that. I think we need some extra persepctive and plus I like her style!
DMS: ai you insultng the professional I get for you guys?
Van: well yeah and plus why u so worked up?? It's not like I’m insulting you!
Meanwhile in Lei's car...
Nikkie: where are you taking me?
Lei: ai just wait, girls are so naggy.
He droved and after a while they arrived at a hair salon.
Nikkie: why are we here?
Lei: to do ur hair of course, I walked by and saw this hair style that really suits you, but they only have it here, and unlike most stylist, this guy is famous globally, I tried to get him to go to my house, but he won’t budge.
Nikkie: aren’t u one of the f4? Ur supposed to be very powerful…
Lei: ai he doesn’t care… I dunno.. come on! (he dragged her into the salon, he sat patiently in the waiting area after his own hair was done and waited for Nikkie)
After she was done, they went back to Lei’s house…
Fast forward to Lei’s bday party.
The gang arrived with their gfs. They’re all clad in tuxz and ball gowns, looking very handsome and beautiful.
Everyone was chatting and having fun.
Van: ai where’s Nikkie?
Madison: over there (she pointed)
SC: where?
XY: oh I see, the one in the silverish white gown with hair in braids and all up.
Zao-zi: Let’s go over and say hi!
Yamen: she's busy. I don't think we should bother her.
Suddenly..
Anncouncer: Let’s have Mr and Mrs Hau Ze come on stage and speak a few words.
Mr. Hau Ze: Welcome to my son’s 22nd bday party! I hope you all enjoy yourself.
Mrs. Hau Ze: Thank you for coming and I want to give extra thanks to all those that have watched over my son, thru all these years.
(people clapped)
Accouncer: Now let’s welcome Mr. Hau Ze Lei, and welcome him on stage.
(people clapped)
Lei walked down the stairs, then proceed to the stage
Lei: “ ah hem” Thank you all for coming to my 22nd bday party. Please enjoy yourslef and have fun. Oh and don’t drink and drive!
(the audience clapped and groaned with his last comment) He walked down the stage and went straight to Nikkie. All the people turned to see who his date was and all the females in the room (except those in the gang) was envious of her.
Lei: May I have this first dance with you? (he stretched out his hand)
Nikkie: It's my pleasure and honour, birthday boy. (she slightly teased and smiled then grabbed Lei’s hand)
They started the dance and soon his friends and others followed.
After the dance ended. They went to greet his friends.
Ximen: so how was it?
Lei: how was what?
Ximen: Meeting the parents.. did ur parents say anything about match making again? Or not liking her?
Nikkie: Hey! I’m so lovable and cute! How can they not like me ?(she teased)
Ximen: well…n/m I’m taking it as a no. you haven’t seen his parents yet.
Lei: we’ll be seeing them now (seeing his parents making their way over)
Nikkie took a quick peek at Lei. Lei caught it and gave her hand a squeeze.
Mr. Hau Ze: Happy bday son.
Lei: Thanks, dad.
Mrs. Hau Ze: You’re all grown up now. But you’ll always be my Lei..
Lei: mom~!
Mr. Hau Ze: So I see you’ve brought Nikkie along as you promised.
Lei: yes, dad.
Mr. Hau Ze: It’s about time we get to know her better..
Lei’s parents dragged Nikkie and Lei away, all they could do was obey.
Zao-zi: ai you think it’ll work?
Madison: what exactly happens if his parents like her?
Wing: ai let them date and maybe even let them marry….
XY: marry? but they're only university students!!
Ximen; remember as Lei said, worse come to worst he’ll marry her, he likes her more than most average girls.. and it’s not like she’s a slut or bitch..
Madison: aren’t we a lit young? Plus I can’t imagine her getting married.
Van: me too..
DMS: We'll leave it to them to think, let’s enjoy ourselves tonight.
They went and partied.
Later..
SC: DMS, I’m gonna go to the washroom, okay?
DMS: fine.
So then she left. After she was done, she was going to make her way back to the banquet hall but got lost, she wandered and found herself at the garden.
Meanwhile Lei was just done talking to his parents and he decided to get some fresh air. He walked to the garden and found SC.
He walked over to where she was and found her staring into space.
Lei: ai what you thinking?
SC: ah! Lei, you scared me, don’t creep up on me like that!
Lei: you fai au daou.
SC: I wasn’t!
Lei: yes you were, or why were you so scared?
SC: you walk with no sound.
Lei: so what were you thinking or staring at?
SC: the night is so beautiful, that’s all.
Suddenly a piece of slow meolodic music came floating out to the garden from the banquet hall.
Lei: May I have this dance with you?
SC was taken aback, she didn’t catch the music, but now she did. She didn’t think that Lei would ask her to dance, at least not at a place like this.
SC (blushed): sure.
She stretched her hand out and Lei took it. They danced staring into each other's eyes.
Backgorund music “perfect moment”
The spot lights flicker off. Instead the garden's soft lights came on, while they were dancing, the fountain started flowing with water. They were locked into moment. Eyes gazng adoringly into each other.
Lei POV: it’s been so long since I had her this close. I love her. I really do. Yet she’s ah Si's. I’m glad I have this special time with her on my bday. I wish I can hold her forever. But my heart no longer hurts as much as before. Why? Could it be I really fall for Nikkie? I don’t know. I’m confused. All I know is that I really love SC and she’ll never be replaced, just like Jing will always be my first love.
SC POV: we’re standing so close, he’s holding me so tight. I feel like I’m in heaven. I feel like I can’t breathe. My heart is beating really fast. I feel his eyes burn into mine. His quiet and peaceful soul soothes me. On that instance I wondered what would have been like if I choose him over DMS. I had a second thought.. a doubt but I pushed it away. Me and ah Si had come too far. Lei will always be my best friend.. first love and guardian angel.
