“No! Please let Siu Wai stay in Hong Kong! I promise that I will stay with her and give her the best medical treatment possible!” Wilson pleaded.
“Doctor Chan analyzed it and agreed that her current condition is fine to fly back to Sydney.” Siu Wai’s father, Mr. Ching, sighed, “Her mother and I think that moving her back to Sydney will be the best idea. The environment and air there is best for her. Also, we can take care of her. Another important thing is having her to stay in hospital in Hong Kong is very costly and we cannot afford it for long. Siu Wai has medical insurance coverage in Australia. Frankly, we don’t know how long she’s going to stay in the hospital for.”
“Money is not an issue! I will pay for all her medical!” Wilson was still trying to convince them to let Siu Wai stay.
“Wilson, we know you love Siu Wai very much.” Mrs. Ching held his hands. “But for how much longer can you still take care of her? We don’t know when she’s going to wake up…So what are you going to do? You still have your own life and your future. Soon you’ll find her as a burden…” Mrs. Ching started weeping.”But we are her parents and we will stay with her no matter how difficult it is. Wilson, we know you are a good guy but it’s a misfortune that you can’t become our son-in-law!”

Siu Wai’s parents soon found a long-term care hospital in Sydney suitable for her. One week later, they were on their way back to Sydney. Siu Wai’s doctor, Doctor Chan, and a nurse will accompany them to Sydney until she settled down in the hospital there. Wilson stayed with Siu Wai to the airport. He watched closely over her, capturing her face deeply into his memory. He kissed her cheek to farewell, “Goodbye, my beloved Siu Wai.”

Wilson finally resumed work. After leaving for two months, he had a lot of work to catch up. Most of his projects had been passed to other managers and he urged to take them back as soon as possible. In addition, he asked for more new projects. Only when work kept him busy enough that he can feel a sense of comfort and security. Everything seemed to be back on track. However, one very noticeable change was that Wilson had become very quiet, especially towards Alex. Since the first day Wilson was back to the office, besides work issues the two of them rarely talked to each other. A few times, Alex asked Wilson out for lunch or drinks after work as usual in the past, Wilson refused with a polite but cold response.

“Why are you taking this project from me? I am working on it and everything seems fine.” Wilson was in Alex’s office, questioning him the reason for taking this project away.
“Wilson, frankly speaking you have too many projects on hand. I’m afraid that you can’t handle them all.” Alex explained. “And besides, you know how troublesome Mr. Lee is. He insists on working with someone in the company who has more experience in the field. He’s the old-style person who trusts nothing but seniority.”
“But it doesn’t mean that you have to pass the file to C.K.! You should know how ‘competent’ C.K. is!” Wilson was not happy on his work being taken away, especially by this co-worker whom he had numerous fights with.
“Truly, I understand. But Mr. Lee only trusts C.K.! And don’t worry, I will watch over this project to make sure that everything is ok.”
“Go ahead if you believe C.K. can do it!” Wilson threw the folder onto Alex’s desk.
“Come on, Wilson,” Alex did not want to argue. He had been very busy recently and had only two hours sleep last night and had a headache already, “Don’t be so stubborn! I know you are very capable and hard-working, but you can’t handle all the work by yourself! Now please go to see C.K. when you have time and make sure he understands what to follow next.”
“I’ll wait to see how that idiot ruins this project!” Wilson said bitterly.
“Ok Wilson!” Alex lost his temper, “Take this file and go see C.K.! I am your boss and you shut up and go do your work right now!” As soon as the words came out he regretted it. But he was so angry at the moment and would definitely not apologize.
“Yes boss! I will listen to your instruction!” Wilson walked out and slammed the door behind him.

“Hey C.K., I heard that you are now in-charge of the project for Mr. Lee!” The two senior managers were gossiping inside the washroom. “See, I’ve made a bet that you’ll end up winning it!”
C.K. looked into the mirror with a grin, “Mr. Lee only trusts us experienced managers! Wilson that kid…who does he think he is? If not by connection with Alex, how can he move up to this position so fast? Now that old Mr. Yiu is gone and Alex is taking over, and Alex has to respect us or he can’t make all the decisions! We have been in the company for twenty years and we know how to play the game!” The two managers laughed snobbishly and went out the door.
Wilson walked out from the stall.
