Gui Gui opened her eyes. She got up and looked through the window. Wang Zi was smiling at her.
“You don’t have to shout, you know!” Gui Gui protested as she walked to the balcony.
“I’m sorry…but it’s the only way to wake you up,” Wang Zi smiled. “Now, get change quick!”
“Alright! Alright!” Gui Gui smiled back. She walked back to her room and quickly got changed. After that, she ran downstairs.
“Gui Gui, breakfast first,” Mum reminded her.
“Later! Wang Zi’s waiting for me!” Gui Gui shouted from the front as she rushed out of the house.
“That’s fast,” Wang Zi commented.
“C’mon…let’s go!” Gui Gui dragged Wang Zi.
They went to the university together. As they reached there, they walked together entering the gate.
Suddenly someone smacked Wang Zi’s head.
“Aw! That’s hurt!” Wang Zi yelled.
“Hi, guys!” Aaron appeared in front of them.
“Woah…Aaron…you’re back?” Gui Gui was excited to see him. Aaron had gone for the tour concert since two months ago. Gui Gui thought he would go more than two months.
“You miss me?” Aaron teased.
“Huh! Dream on!” Gui Gui pouted. But inside, she was so happy. She did miss him. Really miss him.
“Aw!” Aaron shouted when Wang Zi smacked his head. “What’s that for?” he protested.
“You smack my head first!” Wang Zi said.
“C’mon guys…don’t fighting…” Gui Gui said, and Aaron was so surprised because Ya Lun also said like that at the same time with Gui Gui. No, not surprised. But jealous.
“You’re still there,” Aaron said in her mind.
“Hey…that’s not my fault…I don’t know why I can’t go out even eight months have passed already…” Ya Lun defended himself.
“Pfff…whatever…” Aaron said. Unluckily, Gui Gui heard it.
“What did you just say?” Gui Gui asked.
“It’s nothing,” Aaron lied.
“But you…”
“Woah! What’s with this place?”
Gui Gui was interrupted by Wang Zi. They entered the university building and…what’s with those pink decorations…
“Valentine?” Aaron shrugged. “It’s one week from now. My friends from Fahrenheit talked about it yesterday…”
“Val…valentine?” Gui Gui whispered.
“Yes...this university always celebrates it and makes a big dance party every year. Why?” Aaron asked.
“Nothing,” Gui Gui answered.
She seemed didn’t notice anything. She kept walking, even Aaron and Wang Zi was left behind.
“What’s wrong with her?” Aaron asked.
“That’s your fault,” Wang Zi said as he chased Gui Gui.
“My fault?” Aaron pointed himself.
“Your fault,” Ya Lun agreed.

Gui Gui sat alone on the rooftop. Now, that place wasn’t just the favorite place for Aaron, but also Gui Gui.
Gui Gui lent back to the wall and closed her eyes.
Today was 7 February. Seven days to Valentine day. And six days to the day when Ya Lun had passed away.
Without warning, a drop of tear rolled down on her cheek. Even she had decided to let Ya Lun go, it was still hurt every time she remembered that night; the night when she got that call; the night when she rushed in to the ward where Ya Lun was laying, pale, cold.
Gui Gui hugged her knees. How much he missed Ya Lun. How much she missed his voice, his laughter, his hug, his kiss, his warmth, his everything…
“What are you doing here? The class has already started, hasn’t it?”
Gui Gui looked up and saw Aaron. Aaron took a seat beside her. He noticed her closely, and then said, “Why do you cry?”
Gui Gui quickly wiped her tears away. “Am I?”
Aaron kept staring at her. “Is this ‘him’ again?”
Gui Gui remained silent. Aaron started to get impatient.
“What was really happened? Why did suddenly you…become like that this morning? Wang Zi said it was my fault. I really don’t understand! Why can’t you tell me? I think we’re…friends?”
Suddenly Gui Gui’s small hands held Aaron’s. “I’m sorry…”
“Gui Gui…” Aaron held back her hands. “Is this ‘him’, right?”
Gui Gui released her hands and lent back. She looked up to the sky and said, “You’re right. It’s him.”
Aaron’s heart tightened. “What’s with him?”
Gui Gui looked at him with her teary eyes. “Aaron…do you know…when did Ya Lun pass away? I still remembered that day clearly…February 13th 2009…right one day before Valentine day…when I got that phone call and he told that…that…that Ya Lun had passed away…” Gui Gui broke into tears.
Aaron lifted his hand slowly. He hesitated. He dried her tears with his thumb softly. He looked at her like he was saying: I’m all ears.
Gui Gui continued. “I know I’ve decided to let him go…but…I…I really can’t take it when I remember it again. It’s like a nightmare. And it never ends. When I woke up, it’s gone. But then when I slept again, I got the same nightmare…his pale face…and cold hands…” Gui Gui shook her head hardly.
Now Aaron wrapped his arms around her.
“And then, when I woke up, with those cold sweats, my heart was crying again. And it told me that I still missed him dearly…deep inside my heart I still hoped he would come back, even I knew it was impossible. Just if…if God takes me away with him, maybe everything will be better…”
“Gui Gui, you shouldn’t say like that,” Aaron whispered.
“Aaron…tell me…I’ve tried to let him go for months…I turned back to my old self…but it’s really ironic…because I am in the past…is never without Ya Lun…” Gui Gui cried harder. “And when…when I think I can go through it…that day is going to come again…I don’t think I can…walk through it all…not anymore…without I realize, I become scare…so scare with that day…”
Gui Gui’s body was trembling in Aaron’s arms. Aaron tightened his hug. He felt like want to cry. It was so hurt for him to see Gui Gui like that.
“Don’t be scare…I promise I will be right beside you…I’ll hold your hands and sing for you…anything I’ll do until you don’t scare anymore…” Aaron whispered. He kissed the top of her head.
A little they knew that someone was watching them.
