"Yah! Stop playing soccer, we have to get there quick, Ryeowook said there's going to be a Christmas eve party!" Leeteuk glared at all of us lagging behind. Heechul let out a sigh as we approached the Samchon of Ryeowook's house.
"Wow....." Shindong looked at the tall mansion of this mysterious Samchon that Ryeowook claimed to be his uncle.
All of us stared in awe as we were walking deep into the mansion, escorted by a maid. This house was indeed twice the size of Eunkyung's.
The house was decorated all over the place just for the party. Red, green, white, and gold streamers hung on the ceiling, swinging around with loops and upside down hills.
"Where's Samchon?" Ryeowook looked around, eyes darting onto every piece of decoration.
"He's out to pick out his suit, he will be back soon." The maid smiled and led us up into the rooms. We walked down the corridor where there were many rooms. Indeed this mansion seemed like an empty motel. Not even in the creepiest way, but a bright and new motel. Maybe even as big as our university dorm building, but bigger. The walls were painted with a periwinkle blue, the walls and door frames were all lined with fancy edges.
Heechul followed me into a room painted in a creamy yellow tone and threw the bag down onto one of the two beds. "AH! I'm so tired!" He jumped onto the bed with his bag and laid in it, closing his eyes and breathing heavily.
I put my bag under my bed and headed into the bathroom connected to the room.
"Yah, I saw a salon nearby, about six minutes from here." I heard Heechul from the other side of the door. I thought he was asleep?
"And...?" I quickly washed my face over with warm water-defrosting my nose along with it.
"You want to change yourself up a bit before the party?"
...'Not a bad idea'....I thought.
Heechul invited Eunhyuk, Kangin & Donghae along, who were all willing to get out before the party. Our small talk kept us company as we walked into the salon.
A noona walked over, eyeing us with a flirty look. I looked away and sat down on a waiting chair, picking up a new magazine, filled with hair ideas.
Donghae sat down next to me as Kangin flirted with the noona. "You should dye your hair to this color." Donghae pointed at a guy with platinum blonde hair. "I think it'll look good on you."
I looked up at him. "You sure? It's not too much right?" My hands touched my curly almost black-brown hair. Donghae shook his head. "Kyuhyun, it's always nice to change things up a bit." Donghae got up and sat down on one of the salon chairs as an ahjumma called him over to sit down.
A few minutes later, a flamboyant hyung called me over to sit down.
"Do you want your hair in any way?" His tone sounded a bit cold, like the weather outside.
"Erm..." He jerked my chair around and leaned my chair back, lowering my head to the sink with quick movements, yet they were all so gentle.
"Nevermind." My long silence must've been a bit too long, because he seemed to have made up his mind about what he was going to do instead.
The hyung massaged my head and applied many creams and sprayed many liquids into my hair. For an hour and forever I sat there silently watching him in the mirror, magically transforming my hair. I waited under the hair dryer patiently as Heechul & Kangin finished their haircuts and colors.
"Alright, you're done my friend." the hairdresser hyung said pushing my rolling up, unwrapping the towel around my head. I looked up to find someone who looked very different from what I expected.
My hair was now layered and more straight than ever. on top of that, it had been bleached platinum blonde-just like what Donghae had suggested.
"Hey, you've decided to do what I told you!" Donghae skipped over smiling proudly.
I chuckled at his new appearance. "Shikoro. The hyung did it, I didn't tell him anything!" I looked at him in disbelief as he walked away going 'tsktsk' not believing a single word i've just said.
~Eunkyung's point of view~
"What's wrong?" I looked into Sungmin's concentrated face as he walked back into the room.
"Do you want to go to a party?" Sungmin had an unsure look on his face.
I shrugged. "I don't care, whatever you want." My attention went back to the computer screen, scrolling up and down the list of 'Kim Ryeowooks' information.
Sungmin cleared his throat to get my attention. "So is that a yes?"
"Who’s going, and where is it anyway?"
"It's at one of Samchon's friend's house, he's throwing a Christmas party, that's al I know." His voice had an edge of coldness in it. I turned around to face him, only to find a face trying to hide its anger.
"What's wrong Sungmin-ah?" I put my hand on his knee, feeling it shake.
"It's nothing." He got up quickly and walked out the door.
"I'm going!" I yelled out at him before he closed my room door.
~Sungmin's point of view~
I let my anger out on her. I let myself release it; after all, she's the one who made me angry. I slowly walked down the staircase-legs shaking with anger. I huffed and let out a huge sigh while jumping on the couch.
"Something wrong Sungmin?" I looked up to fine Eunkyung's mother. I must have been too angry to notice her sitting on the smaller silk couch next to the one i was on.
"I-I-I....I'm okay, mianhae," I was too shocked, I didn't even remember to call her by the right title...
"You don't want to tell me?" She shifted her body into a better position and scoted closer, like a mother asking her child what went wrong at school.
She listened intently on my explanation, nodding and understanding me. For the first time, I felt like there was someone else who truly understands me.
~Eunkyung's pov~
I took a little over ten minutes looking for something warm to wear. I know it is chilly outside, and I can't afford to get sick at all. I wrapped a scarf around my cold neck and bounded down the stairs before Sungmin could heat up and become angry again.
I reached the bottom of the stairs and spotted my umma and Sungmin sitting there talking. I awkwardly approached the two as they stopped talking. My conscience half told me that it was me that they were talking about-I ignored it anyway.
Sungmin was silent the whole time as we sat in the car. That was until...
"Promise you'll stay by my side?" Sungmin suddenly asked.
I looked to his side of the car with my eyebrows furrowed. "Sungmin oppa, you're okay, right?"
He just nodded and took my hand, tugging it, motioning for me to scoot closer. I obediently did what was requested.
We pulled up in front of a big house. In my opinion, a house a lot bigger than my own. I stared at it in awe as my driver took the door for me. Sungmin met me on my side of the car and took my hand.
~Kyuhyun’s POV~
I walked through the main room where many of the guests were packed in. I spotted a chair near the window and took a seat. I watched as couples and singles came in one by one through the door of this mansion. My light reflection on the window reflected back at me and smiled. I smiled back. Of course it would smile just like me…
A girl with long flowy brown hair caught my eye. I looked at her closely as her boyfriend followed close behind her. I squinted and realized that it was EunKyung and Kyuhyun. Really? After all of that running away, I still end up meeting up with them?
I quickly got up and walked over to the snack table where the champagne and wine sat. I picked up the bottle of wine and poured it into my glass, then forcefully spilling the drink into my mouth. I helped myself to more…..
~EunKyung’s POV~
Sungmin’s uncle had taken Sungmin over to his friend who waited for him at the stairs. I shrugged and walked away to help myself to some drinks. Little did I know, I felt the alcohol getting to my brain ten minutes later. I staggered to a wall for support as my legs made me wobble from side to side when walking; they could barely keep me up either.
I looked up from the wall and spotted someone a few feet away from me. My eyes weren’t helping at all as I squinted harder. A guy as tall as Kyuhyun oppa stood in front of me….I continued to stare at him. He seemed to not have noticed until he turned his head over- Our eyes met.
All I could muster was, “Kyuhyun….Oppa?”
