Finally after a few minutes, a figure stopped in front of her table and blocked away Hebe’s sunlight. Hebe felt her stomach do a flip-flop turn as her head parted her palm and she looked up at the person. She was shocked to see a young man staring back at her who seemed to be around her age.
“Hey, I’m Aaron Yan, you’re Hebe Tian right?” The young man asked as he gestured out his hand initiating a handshake. Hebe nodded her head and accepted the handshake awkwardly but maintained her manners before Aaron took a seat across from Hebe.
Hebe brought her arm down from the table and smiled awkwardly, “So um, I got the letter you left me.” She said with an uneasily smile. “So um, is there any other possible way to settle this?”
Aaron looked at her and smiled a little, thinking she was one interesting person and decided to go with his plan. “Ok so I won’t go after your family for fraud against our stock as long as you do something for me.” A little smirk hung on the corner of his lips and Hebe could sense something bad was going to happen. But she couldn’t do anything but agree to it thanks to her family who was illegally sharing stocks over the market and they had been caught by obviously Aaron’s corporation.
Hebe sighed as she reluctantly nodded her head. “Ok fine, what do I have to do?”
Aaron liked how fast she agreed without even knowing what she had to do yet. “Pretend to be my girlfriend.”
If Hebe had been drinking water, she probably would have spat it out in his face when she heard what he had said. “Excuse me? Did I just hear it wrong?” Hebe asked again, blinking a few times trying to think straight.
Aaron shook his head. “No, that’s what I’m asking for. Do you agree to it or no?”
Hebe narrowed her eyes a little at him. “What’s the catch there?”
He shrugged. “You don’t have to take the offer, I’ll just have to report it to the police and your dad will be off to jail.” He gave a little devilish smile and Hebe swore she felt shivers run down her spine.
Hebe rolled her eyes. “Ok fine.” She said unwillingly at last. “Just tell me what I have to do.” She grumbled unhappily under her breath.
Aaron clucked his tongue a few times, “Uh uh uh, you’re not going anywhere with me with that face on. Smile and look proud to be Aaron Yan’s girlfriend.” He said with a confident smirk. Hebe eyed him from the corners of her eyes and gave a big fake smile, pretending to be happy and enjoyable. “Better.” He said before standing up. “Well since I have your phone number I’ll just call you whenever I need your appearance.”
“Wait!” Hebe called out before he walked of. “Does that interfere with my work schedule? Because I have my own personal life too.” She said as she crossed her arm and leaned back in the chair with a frown on her face.
Aaron shrugged. “I don’t know maybe, if it does I’ll have my secretary notify you ahead of time then.” He said before walking off for good.
