Throughout the year, I was stuck in this spell cast upon me. Buying his albums, downloading his songs. Listening to JUST his songs to the extent that i could almost memorise the lyrics. But I haven't so much been to his concert yet. That was also the start of his peaking career in music from the release of Fantasy, getting awards after awards. Promotions and contracts for commercials.
"Hey! Jay is going to release a new album! Did you know!" A classmate of mine, Joey asked, who was also a fellow Jay fan.
"Yea I heard. There's this preorder thing isnt it? Have you preordered your copy yet? Quick or else it'll all be snapped up!" I replied, equally thrilled.
Fan-talk, indeed.

2002 was also the year when 'The One' world tour concert started.
"Jay is coming to Singapore for The One concert next year!! DARN! why cant he come earlier!!!" Joey whined.
"Be patient! Its coming soon! Times flies!" I promised joey to go to the concert with her. I myself, was equally nervous, hoping time would pass faster.

"Jie Lun Jie Lun Jie Lun!!!" The stadium roared with applause when Jay appeared on the stage. It was my first time seeing him, live. It was unimaginable. Just like the concert was.
Seated at a distance away from the stage, what I could see wasn't very near and it felt just like seeing him on TV. How I wished to be just under his nose.
It was a dreamlike night. Totally out of the world, but real at the same time. A night of waving lightsticks, screams, singing and a brilliant performer wow-ing the audience with all his might.
My fanatism grew by heaps and bounds ever since the concert. From the basic buying of CDs, there came taping of every single clip or MV shown of him on TV, cutting of articles from the papers or magazines, to downloading of pictures and clips from media sources from TW, HK n China.
Its like falling into deep spell, unable to climb out of it. Or rather, falling deeper into it, willingly.
