Eunhyuk woke early that day. He had a weird feeling surging through his body. The feeling you get after you are sick. The feeling that everything holding you back was out of your body. The feeling he was able to finally let someone go.

Eunhyuk got dressed in one of the only outfits he owned that wasn't his school uniform. A nice set of blue jeans and a white shirt and a blue plaid button up shirt. He shrugged and decided it was decent.

He walked down the steps of the orphanage and said goodbye to the Nuns. "Going out to meet a friend today Sisters. Goodbye." He stepped outside and sat on the bottom step and waiting for Kim.

Eunhyuk hugged himself to keep warm. He watched as all the cars drove by. He looked up at the sun. It was just starting to rise. He didn't know why he had gotten out so early, but he did.

Kim pulled up two hours later. She waved at Eunhyuk from her car. Eunhyuk hurried down the steps and into Kim's car. It was so warm. Eunhyuk let out a big sigh of relief and let the car defrost him.

"Been waiting long?" Kim asked.

Eunhyuk shook his head. "Not really." He shivered.

"You're different today..." Kim pointed out randomly.

Eunhyuk looked at her and knit his brow. "How so?"

Kim pursed her lips and thought for a second. "You just, there's something, I can't put my finger on it." She laughed. "You just have a different aura around you."

Eunhyuk chuckled. "A different aura? Well now that you mention it, I do feel different."

"Are you sick?"

"No, I feel new..." He laughed again, "I know is sounds weird, but I feel like a new person."

"Hmmm." Kim tapped her finger on her lip. "Weird." She dropped the subject. "So, don't hate me for this, but, the costumes I had originally picked out for my previous date and I are out of order, so we need to pick out new ones."

"Oh that's fine. What do you have in mind?" Eunhyuk asked, thinking about what sort of costumes you wore to a costume masquerade.

"Well I was thinking something 18th century. You know like a Marie Antoinette era." Kim explained.

"Oh sounds cool!" Eunhyuk cheered.

Donghae woke up feeling the exact opposite of Eunhyuk. His mind was filled with all these ways to get out of the engagement. And with ways to win back Eunhyuk.

He got up off the floor and passed by his bed, which he had yet to sleep in since Eunhyuk had stayed the night. He sighed and passed by the puzzle. It was still uncompleted.

He sighed and got dressed for his big day. He picked up Sophia from her house around 8 in the morning. She came out and gave him a quiet look.

"Good morning." She said apathetically.

"Morning." Donghae replied with a sigh.

"We are picking up our costumes right away?" Sophia asked monotonously.

Donghae nodded. "Yeah then we are going over to Roma Cafe for lunch." Donghae replied, his voice sounded distant and bored like Sophia's.

Sophia pulled at her shirk a little while Donghae drove. She wanted to bring up the engagement, but felt it wasn't the right time. "Donghae," She let a small whisper through her teeth.

"What is it Sophia?" Donghae glanced at her then back at the road.

"Do you love me?" Sophia looked up at Donghae, he didn't return the glance.

"Of course I do. I asked you to marry you didn't I?" Donghae mumbled.

Sophia shrugged. "Well, it seems like someone else has your heart..." She whispered, then immediately regretted letting that slip. "Why did you ask me to marry you Donghae?"

Donghae hesitated. He clenched his jaw. "Sophia," He started, "I asked you to marry me because," He paused.

"Is it because of him? Did he push you to it?" Sophia's voice rose.

Donghae shook his head. "No, it's not my father's doing, its I don't know why I did. I've had that ring for ages. I had it with me that night and I did it kind of spur of the moment."

Sophia bit her bottom lip. She looked out the window at the passing cars. She let a single tear roll down her cheek. "No, not your father." She started to say. "Donghae," She took a deep breath and gathered up all the courage she had. "Donghae," She repeated and turned to him. "I know you love him," She finally said, "Eunhyuk."

--------

Kim pulled into the small costume shop parking lot and found a spot right out front. Eunhyuk looked at the little red and white cement building. It was small, but nice.

"This place is the best place in all of Detroit to get costumes." Kim said as she stepped out of the car.

"Really? I've never really had the need for a costume so I don't know any of the costume places here." Eunhyuk told her.

"Really? Not even for Halloween?" Kim asked.

"No, I never went trick-or-treating." Eunhyuk confessed.

Kim gasped. "Never ever?"

"Never ever." Eunhyuk said with a smile.

"Wow, your childhood musta sucked!"

Eunhyuk stopped. He remembered his childhood. His childhood with his parents. His childhood in the orphanage. It all did 'suck'. "Yeah, but I'm not a big candy eater anyways, so I doesn't really matter much to me." Eunhyuk said and dropped the subject.
