"This is so nice...you are a good dancer Eunhyuk." Kim said as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Eunhyuk tensed up at her sudden action. "Uh, thanks. The only other time I danced was in the seventh grade...when I took a class."
"Oh, well, you're a natural. Thank you for coming with me to the ball."
"Your welcome, Kim."
Kim and Eunhyuk continued to slow dance to all of the next songs. The slow danced to every song, even if it were a slow dance song or not.
"Okay for out next dance I want you all to pick a number from the hats these lovely ladies are bringing around. Before the music starts I'll be calling out the numbers, whoever has your number you dance with." The DJ announced. Girls in short, revealing dresses walked around with Santa hats, giving everyone a number.
The stopped at Eunhyuk and Kim. He reached in the hat and pulled out a small ticket with the number 13 written in large print.
"I got 8, what did you get?" Kim asked, trying to peek at Eunhyuk's number.
"13..." Eunhyuk said as he showed her his number.
"Darn, I hope I don't get a lousy dance partner..." Kim sighed.

Donghae leaned up against the wall. He had given up all hope of reclaiming Eunhyuk's heart. "Sophia, I think I'm gonna go home. He is obviously not here...maybe this is just fate's way of telling me we aren't supposed to be together."
"Don't say that. You'll win him back sooner or later. There's always tomorrow. You can always go to his house and tell him straight out that you love him." Sophia encouraged Donghae.
"Okay for out next dance I want you all to pick a number from the hats these lovely ladies are bringing around. Before the music starts I'll be calling out the numbers, whoever has your number you dance with." Sophia and Donghae heard the DJ say.
"Hey! Lets go do that! Sounds like a lotta fun!" Sophia cheered.
"I don't know Sophia, I'm not really in a dancing mood." Donghae sighed. He fixed the slits in his mask. "And this dumb costume, it's so hard to see out of..."
Sophia grabbed hold of Donghae's hand. "Come on...it'll get your mind of Eunhyuk."
Donghae caved in and reluctantly followed Sophia into the crowd of people. A girl with a Santa hat approached the two and held out the hat. Donghae reached in and carelessly pulled out a number. He quickly looked at the number. "I got 5...what did you get?"
Sophia reached in and searched around the paper tickets until she found one she liked. "Ah hah." She pulled out the number and frowned. "13? No, I can't have this number. It's unlucky. Let me pull another." Sophia demanded.
"Sorry you get what you get." The girl said and walked away.
"Ugh, Donghae, I can't have this number. It's an unlucky number. A chandelier might fall on me or something." She whined. "Trade with me?"
Donghae shrugged and took her ticket. "I'm not superstitious so it doesn't matter to me." Donghae looked down at the 13. He felt something weird in the pit of his stomach. Something he couldn't explain. But somehow, he knew, this number was significant. "There's something about this number...it's something important." Donghae thought for a moment.
"Does it mean anything to you?" Sophia asked.
"Hmmm..." Donghae thought, then it hit him like a brick wall. "Oh that's right...13 is the first and last number of my locker combination."
"Oh, spooky." Sophia said, making eerie noises as she spoke.
"Yeah.." Donghae laughed.
"Does everyone have a number?" The DJ asked. The girls in revealing dressed walked back up to the DJ's platform and showed in the empty hats. "Looks like, so why don't we start the countdown? Lets start with lucky number 1...who are the two dancers with the ticket 1?"
A women in an elf costume and a man in a vampire outfit stepped towards that DJ's platform. The held up their tickets with the number 1. They gave each other a funny look and laughed. "Looks like we have our first match." The DJ said. "Next, who has 2?" The DJ continued on to the number 5. Sophia walked through the crowd of people towards the DJ booth and held her ticket high.
"Me! I do!" She cheered. She was met by a young man in a pirate outfit. "Arrgh," she laughed and took his hand.
Donghae sighed and looked at his number. "Just 8 more..." He said to himself.
"8! Who has 8?" The DJ called out. Kim pecked Eunhyuk on the cheek and walked up towards the DJ. She waited for her knight in shining armor to make his metallic way up to the platform. "Aw, a fair maiden and her knight. A nice couple. Good luck dancing with that hunk of junk, Marie Antoinette." The DJ joked. Kim took the knight's steel hand and slowly walked back towards the crowd.
Eunhyuk looked around at all the people. "My partner could be anyone..." He spoke aloud to himself.
The DJ continued to call out numbers until he reached that special number. "Oooh, my least favorite number of them all, 13!"
Eunhyuk gulped and looked around. He waited for whoever his partner was to walk up first. 'Maybe...if no one walks up...I can leave...' He thought to himself.
'If my partner doesn't walk up, I'll leave...' Donghae thought to himself.
"Hello? Anyone have 13?" The DJ asked.
Eunhyuk built up his courage and made his way through the crowd. "Yeah, I do," He called out and stood at the front of the crowd. Donghae heard someone say they had it. There was no way he could leave now. He had to go and meet his new dance partner.
"Hah, nice costume, pal." The DJ laughed at Eunhyuk's ridiculous looking costume.
Donghae stumbled through the crowd. He pushed his way to the front and stared at the boy before him. The light shone on him like an angel from heaven. He felt his heart skip a beat. He walked up to the boy. "Its you again."
"Hey ninja." Eunhyuk laughed.
"Shall we?" Donghae reached his hand out to Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk gently placed his hand in Donghae's. A strange feeling came over him. He looked up at Donghae. Donghae felt the feeling too. Eunhyuk smiled sheepishly and the two walked back to the crowd.
"If you want to go dance with your girlfriend, that would be fine." Donghae said.
"Only if you want to go dance with your date?" Eunhyuk asked.
"Oh uh my date never showed up..." Donghae sighed.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Eunhyuk said, his voice apologetic.
"Its alright. I don't know what I would have done even if he-she showed up." Donghae mumbled.
"What do you mean?" Eunhyuk asked, confused.
"I was supposed to tell /her/ that I loved her and hope /she/ loved me back..." Donghae confessed.
"Oh, is she an ex girlfriend or something?" Eunhyuk asked.
"Something like that...well...not really...just a friend that I wasn't meant to fall in love with...but did...it's kind of confusing. I understand if you don't." Donghae sighed.
"No, I understand completely..." Eunhyuk said in a soft voice.
"So I never caught your name." Donghae said.
"Oh its Eu-" He said, but was cut off by the DJ.
"Looks like everyone has their number, why don't we start off this blind dance with a nice slow ballad." The DJ said and put on a soft song.
"Girl or boy?" Donghae asked.
"You can lead..." Eunhyuk said and took Donghae's right hand and rested his left on Donghae's shoulder. The DJ turned up the music louder.
Donghae slowly moved with Eunhyuk to the music. "I'm Donghae by the way." Donghae said in a normal speaking voice.
"What? I couldn't hear you." Eunhyuk said.
"Never mind." Donghae called back.
"I still can't hear you. The music is way to loud." Eunhyuk said.
Donghae brought his head close to Eunhyuk. "I said never mind." Donghae said in a loud voice.
"Oh, okay." Eunhyuk said in Donghae's ear.
Donghae didn't move his head. He kept it close on Eunhyuk's shoulder. Eunhyuk didn't move his either. Instead he rested it gently on Donghae's shoulder. Donghae didn't react to Eunhyuk's action like Eunhyuk thought he would. Surprisingly, he rested his head softly on Eunhyuk's shoulder as well.
