Eunhyuk quietly tiptoed up to his attic room. He pulled out the old suitcase a social worker bought for him years back and threw it on his bed. He pulled out all of his clothes and school uniform. After folding them again he placed them in the suitcase.
"Puzzle glue..." Eunhyuk mumbled to himself. He walked over to his dresser and grabbed the small bottle of puzzle glue. He hurried over to the fireworks puzzle and bent down. He read the small label on the bottle. "4-6 hours to dry?!" He cursed loudly. "I better hurry..." He quickly dabbed a little bit of the sticky mixture on the corner of the puzzle. It was hard to spread, but he managed to get it all over the puzzle in half an hour.
Eunhyuk glanced at his wall clock, it was a little past 1 in the morning. Eunhyuk leaned against his bed and stared out of his window. The bright night sky shone in on him.
Eunhyuk sighed and looked down. "Donghae..." He whispered to himself.
-
Donghae ran seven blocks before stopping. He looked around at his surroundings. Everything looked exactly different. He'd never been in this area of town. He took a left on the street he was at and started running down that way. He was just getting more lost.
"I'll see him tomorrow..." Donghae sighed and gave up. He pulled out his cell phone and called one of his father's assistants. "Yeah, I'm at the corner of Booth and Swope Avenue." He explained. "It's cold...please hurry and get me." He closed his phone and waited for his ride.
--
[the next day]
Donghae woke up with a horrible headache. He folded up the blankets on the floor and tossed them on his chair. He threw on some new clothes and grabbed the shoe.
Donghae hurried downstairs and towards the door. "Donghae, son," He heard a voice call from the kitchen.
Donghae stopped in his tracks and walked to the kitchen. "Dad, what is it? I'm in a hurr-"
"Donghae please, sit." His father held and open hand at the small table. Donghae sat across from his father. "Donghae Sophia told us she declined the engagement." His father explained.
Donghae sighed and rolled his eyes. "Father I don't want to talk about that, I have somewhere to be."
"Where? Where do you need to go?" His father asked, suspicious of his son.
"I have to visit a friend, he left his shoe at the ball last night and-" Donghae held up the shoe in his hand as he spoke.
"Donghae!" His father shouted, startling Donghae. "Tell me the truth. Where are you going? You and Sophia were the best of couples. And she broke off the engagement. Were you cheating on her? Was that it? Donghae you can tell me." His father said, his voice sounded like it was trying to be sincere.
"No, she said it was too soon, that we ju-"
His father sighed and shook his head. "Donghae there's no use lying to me. I was your age once, I know how it gets. You get with a girl, and your with her for a few years, and it gets boring. Its how I felt about your mother."
Donghae's expression changed. He stood up from the table and walked over to his father. After only taking a few steps towards his father, Donghae could smell the distinct scent of alcohol. He scoffed and laughed. "You're drunk. I can't believe it. This early, too. God forget you." Donghae shook his head and left the room. He got pulled out his car keys and sped to the orphanage.

/knock knock/
The Nuns hurried to the door. The first of the three orphan's parents were here. One of the nun opened the door and greeted the parents. "Hello welcome!"
The man exhaled smoke from his cigarette. "Yeah, we're here for our boy, Eunhyuk..." He mumbled.
The nun was taken back at the man's manner of speaking and actions. "Oh yes, certainly." The nun knocked on the side of the stairs leading up to the attack. "Eunhyuk! Eunhyuk!" She called out.
Eunhyuk closed his eyes and imagined everything was going away. He didn't want to go back to his parent's house. He knew, though, the second he got there he would leave again, and they wouldn't give a rat's ass if he stayed or went. "Eunhyuk!" He heard his name called again. He was brought back to reality.
"Yeah, be right down Sister!" He called back down the stairs. He reached down to his puzzle and gently picked it up. The glue had dried almost completely. He took out a shirt and protectively wrapped the shirt around the puzzle.
Eunhyuk zipped up the suit case and said goodbye to his room. "I had some fun times in here..." He said and smiled. "Bye." He said and slowly stepped down the stairs.
His eyes almost fell out of his head when he saw his parents. They looked the same, just older. His father's hair was disappearing and his mothers was graying. "Hello." He said in a monotonous tone.
"This is our boy? Wow, he got older." His father joked. The nun laughed. Eunhyuk's mother laughed. Eunhyuk glared at him. He would never be able to laugh at anything his father said.
"Well, Mr and Mrs Lee here are the adoption papers, just sign them when you get to the county office and Eunhyuk will be back in your custody." The nun said.
"Okay. Come on Eunhyuk we gotta hurry and get home." His mother finally spoke up. Her voice was scratchy and coarse due to years of chain smoking.
Eunhyuk tried to move his feet, but he couldn't. He couldn't move at all. "Eunhyuk come on, now!" His father barked. This caused Eunhyuk to jump back. He nodded and followed his parents outside.
"You can throw your bag in the back with you. It's gonna be a long drive. We live all the way out in Grand Rapids*" His father said.
Eunhyuk nodded and complied with his father. He got into the small, yellow, beat up car and pulled his suit case on his lap. The puzzle inside the suit case was the only thing connecting him to Donghae. The only thing that would get in through this move.
"How old are you now, boy?" His father asked.
"I'm 17..." Eunhyuk mumbled.
"Hmmph, 17? Almost a man now right?" His father said, trying to get a conversation going.
"Yes." Eunhyuk simply said.
Eunhyuk's mother turned around and gave him a warm, but fake smile. "Eunhyuk things will be better from now on. You are back with mommy and daddy." His mother spoke as if Eunhyuk were 7 not 17.
Eunhyuk tore his eyes of his mother and out at the passing building. His heart ached. He was leaving behind the one person that ever showed him love.
-
Donghae pulled up to the orphanage just as the yellow car was leaving. He grabbed the shoe and took some deep breaths. "Eunhyuk I love you. I love you, Eunhyuk." He practiced. When he felt ready to face Eunhyuk he got out of his car and went to the door.
He knocked lightly on the front door and waited. A nun opened the door and greeted him. "Yeah, I'm looking for Eunhyuk..."
"Oh I'm sorry, he just left..." The nun said.
Donghae knit his brows, "What? He...left? Where?"
"His parents came and picked him up. He is going to live with them now. They just left in that yellow car...if you hurry-" The nun started to say, but Donghae was already running down the street after the car.
Eunhyuk sighed softly and listened to the hum of his parent's car. His mind started to drift away. He started thinking about last night. About dancing with that ninja. He felt so right being in his arms.
Eunhyuk opened his eyes and was brought back to reality. He looked at everything passing by. He guessed he was about 3-4 miles from the orphanage.
"Eunhyuk! Eunhyuk!" Donghae had successfully caught up to the yellow car. He ran as fast as he could up the hill towards the yellow car, shouting his love's name. "Eunhyuk!" He started to feel weary. His legs started to cramp up. He couldn't go any further. "Eunhyuk!" Donghae was losing speed. "Eunhyuk!" He collapsed on the ground. There was no way he could catch up to the car running up hill.
