"What did you say?" His father asked.
"Stop the car!" Eunhyuk yelled.
"What?" His father asked.
"Stop the damn car!" Eunhyuk roared. His father hit the brakes. Eunhyuk jumped out of the car and ran to the person on the ground. "Donghae!" Eunhyuk screamed.
Donghae looked up. Eunhyuk was running towards him. "Eu..." Donghae gasped for breath. "Eunhyuk."
Eunhyuk bent down in front of Donghae. "Donghae what are you doing?"
Donghae tried to catch his breath. All that running, especially up hill took away the last breath he had. "I...ran..."
"What? You ran after me? From the orphanage? Are you stupid? Fool!" Eunhyuk yelled, angry at Donghae. "Why would you do that?"
Donghae caught his breath and looked at Eunhyuk. "I don't know...my car was right there. I guess people do stupid things for the one's they l-" He paused. "You lost your shoe last night." Donghae quickly changed the subject. He held up the shoe in his hand.
"What!?" Eunhyuk took the shoe and recognized it as the dress up shoes he wore to the ball last night. "You ran 4 miles to return a shoe!"
"No I came to tell you...last night...I was the ninja." Donghae panted, still a little out of breath.
Eunhyuk froze. "What?" He spoke softly and slowly. "So you ran that far to bring me my shoe...and to tell me that you danced with me last night? Are you dense or something? You ran 4 miles..."
"Yeah if it weren't for the fact I was on cross country last year I might have lost you." Donghae looked Eunhyuk in the eyes. His eyes were filled with a mix between sorrow and happiness. Sorrow for almost losing the one he loved. Happiness for reclaiming the one he loved.
"Lost me? Donghae what a-" Eunhyuk started to ask but was stopped. A soft pair of lips returned to Eunhyuk's. Eunhyuk was shocked at first, but eased up. He kissed back.
Donghae pulled away and gave Eunhyuk a big hug. "I was so scared I would lose you. When the nuns told me you were leaving I didn't know what to think. I didn't know if you were moving down the street or out of the state. I couldn't let you go without telling you..." Donghae stopped.
"Telling me what?" Eunhyuk asked, tears streamed down his face. He knew, though, what Donghae wanted to say.
"Telling you that...I love you." Donghae finally confessed.
Eunhyuk hugged Donghae back. More tears poured out of his eyes. It was the first time in his life that anyone had ever said those words. Not even his parents, no one. "Donghae," Eunhyuk took a deep breath. "I love you, too."
The two sat in each others arms until Eunhyuk realized why Donghae was chasing after him. He was going back to his parents. "Donghae..." Eunhyuk pulled out of the hug. "You really love me right?"
"No I just ran 4 miles because I think of you as just a friend." Donghae said sarcastically. "Of course I really love you. I would give anything in the world for you."
"Adopt me." Eunhyuk said.
Donghae laughed, "What?"
"Adopt me. I'm over the age of 16...so that means my adopter has to be at least 18, which you are! You have all the right criteria to adopt me!" Eunhyuk cheered.
Donghae knit his brows. He didn't understand what Eunhyuk was saying. "Eunhyuk I can't possibly-"
"You can! We have all the paperwork in the car and we were heading over to the county office. I turn 18 in April, so I will only be under your custody for a few months!" Eunhyuk was overjoyed. "Donghae, if you really love me, you will adopt me."
"I don't know, Eunhyuk. I mean, I would be your adopted dad! That's a little...I don't know...creepy..." Donghae said.
"Donghae, if you don't I'll be leaving Detroit...I'll have to go live with them! Please, don't make me do that." Eunhyuk put his hands on Donghae's shoulders and stared in the eyes. "Donghae, if you truly love me...you will do this."
Donghae sighed and smiled. "I truly love you. Eunhyuk, I will adopt you."
Eunhyuk smiled and stood up. "Come on." Eunhyuk grabbed onto Donghae's hand and dragged him to the car. "Stay here." Eunhyuk left Donghae at the trunk and went to the drivers side door.
"What the hell is the hold up kid?" His father barked.
"Do you want me?" Eunhyuk asked.
"What?" His father laughed.
"Do you want me? Do you want me back at the home?" Eunhyuk stared his father in the eyes.
"No, we don't. We only did it because those damned nuns..." His father trailed off.
"Then don't take me back. Give me the adoption papers and leave." Eunhyuk said.
His father looked at his mother. They shrugged and handed him the adoption papers. "Good luck with whatever..." His father said.
Eunhyuk took the papers and grabbed his suit case from the back. "Donghae, do you think you can walk to the county office?" The yellow car took off, leaving Eunhyuk and Donghae alone.
Donghae nodded. "Yeah, its not that far from here. Are you sure we can do this?"
"Yes, yes. I studied up on all the laws and loopholes. If the child is over 16 then you have to be 18, have a house, and a monthly income. You get an allowance right?" Eunhyuk asked.
"Yeah...but that's all my father's things. Eunhyuk are you positive we can do this?" Donghae asked.
"Yes, I am. Now lets go." Eunhyuk held his hand out for Donghae. Donghae smiled and took the hand. The two started to walk to the county office.

"You want to adopt him?" The lady behind the counter asked. She had a look of disbelief across her face.
"Uh yeah." Donghae said.
"Do you have a drivers license of any other proof that says you are who you are." The one asked.
Donghae nodded and pulled out his wallet and drivers license. He handed it to the woman. She looked it over and scribbled somethings down on the adoption papers. She handed back his ID and stamped the papers in the corner. "Both of you sign below and mail to the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange and in one to three weeks a representative will contact you with the official certificate of adoption." The woman said in a monotonous tone. "Congratulations you have adopted your first son."
"Wow, that sounds weird." Donghae laughed and signed the papers. "Son...I have a son..." He handed Eunhyuk the papers.
"Thanks..." Eunhyuk signed the papers and handed the woman back her pen. "I hope you know...I'll be calling you 'Donghae' and not 'Dad'."
Donghae laughed and tussled Eunhyuk's hair. "But I am your adopted dad....whoa...sounds weird saying that. I don't think I can get used to this."
"Its only gonna be for a few months..../dad/...." Eunhyuk laughed.
Donghae rolled his eyes and draped his arm of Eunhyuk. "Listen, I'm sorry." Donghae sighed.
"For what?" Eunhyuk asked.
"For not telling you the truth. I should have told you the night you came over for dinner that I had feelings for you." Donghae said.
"I'm sorry too. I thought you didn't...and I pretended like I didn't, hoping that I could possibly not have feelings for you." Eunhyuk confessed.
Donghae kissed the top of Eunhyuk's head. "Eunhyuk...I love you."
"Love you too Donghae." Eunhyuk said and wrapped his arm around Donghae's waist.
"Oh I almost forgot...we have a puzzle to finish!" Donghae cheered.

it'll include them finishing the puzzle
donghae coming out to his dad and telling him he adopted his 17 year old lover
and some stuff about kim and sophia as well.

of course since this is fiction...the adoption laws i changed a little bit
even though i think in my state if you are an 18/unmarried person with a monthly income you can adopt a 16+ year old
idk no one cares anyways hahhh -.-
