The once serious doctor transformed into a young and loving uncle, swinging the child up and down.
The child shrieked out in such joy that ang Zi’s heart clenched up in pain at the thought of not being able to be the one to put the smile filled with so much happiness onto his own son’s face.
Curiously, Gui Gui asked “Brother. Brother. What’s that tape you got in your hands about?”
Squealing, she anxiously asked “Is it a movie to keep the boredom away?”
She reached over to take the tape, but the sneaking hand finally got a hold of her brother’s attention.
With hands as quick as ever, Doctor Wu’s attention snapped back into reality at the speed of light and took the tape away before her hands could so much as get a foot within the tape.
His face immediately turned deadly serious.
In the most cautious voice he could muster despite his face looking as deathly dark as a dark stormy night, he walked up to his sister and ever so gentle began “Gui Gui, you know your injury may not have been an accident.”
Waiting for the thought to sink in, he watched the emotions that flickered across his sister’s lovely face: first shocked, second surprised, third anger, and lastly pain.
What her brother had just suggested was really, totally unexpected.
Unsure if she heard correctly, she asked nervously with uttermost care, “What… What do you mean? What are you suggesting?” when without wasting a moment of time, Wang Zi interrupted furiously “Are you suggesting that someone might have actually tried to hurt or kill Gui Gui?”
Angered and frightened by the possibility that someone could have actually even thought about hurting the one and only love of his lifetime, he shook with such fear and madness that even a lion would back off seeing him.
Getting up on steady feet, he stomped out his feelings and got up to Doctor Wu with outstretch hands, demanding in an ice cold voice that can freeze an ocean “Let me see the tape!”
Even though Doctor Wu was afraid of Wang Zi, Doctor Wu still moved the tape out of Wang Zi’s reach and said in a steady tone of voice, warning Wang Zi to back off.
“No way” was said by both the male at the same time as they stood there staring at each other as if it was a staring contest.
Finally Wang Zi gave up, annoyed with Doctor Wu’s behavior.
Impatiently, he demanded “Why not?”
Taking in an unfortunately long sigh to calm himself down, Doctor Wu slowly began “Well, the tape recorded a lady….”
Taking in another deep breath, he continued “and it showed her pushing the gurney off and away from the wall, causing it to fly down the hallway and hit my precious little sister....”
