The thought of ‘What if he doesn’t like her name?’ kept echoing soundly throughout her mind that she finally couldn’t bear it anymore.
Voice trembling, she asked quietly “Do you not like her name?”
Then more anxiously she asked again “Do you not like her name? Do you not like her name?”
A quick thought flashed into her mind before she jumped to a conclusion, uttering desperately “The name can be changed. It can be changed. I haven’t put it on the birth certificate yet....”
Arron realized that she has badly mistaken his actions, so he hurriedly rounded a single arm around her while still protectively holding onto their daughter.
After seeing the baby and hearing her name, the thought of the child not being his evaporated without any lingering doubts.
Tears slid down her eyes.
In the most tender and gentle voice he could muster, Arron said firmly “No. No. I love her name.”
Then more emotionally he began “I can’t believe you still remember all that……”
He trailed off and she asked “How can I not remember?”
Her heart ached, not only because she didn't imagine this day happening, but because of all the emotions flying.
She just couldn't believe that this is really happening.
Arron’s eyes shifted downward as he mumbled depressingly “I thought you never wanted to see me again. You left me without a single word.”
Hebe whispered ever so quietly “I thought you didn’t want me anymore………….. You were with Gui Gui…….. I saw you guys hugging and she gave you a kiss.”
The last two sentence left Arron dazed before sparking his anger.
At first he questioned “Is that why you decided to leave?”, but then his anger rose and he shouted in accusation “You didn’t trust me!”
Wang Zi and Gui Gui heard the loud yelling from outside.
Turning to face each other, their eyes met knowingly that with a nod of their heads, they rushed into Hebe’s room.
They came in to see a tomato red faced Arron holding a crying baby as Hebe cried on.
Just then, Arron yelled “At least you should have trusted your best friend.”
Uncertain about why whatever Arron and Hebe are arguing about has anything to do with her, Gui Gui asked curiously “What about me?”
During this time, Hebe tried to hide her tears and get Heather out of Arron’s protective arms so that she can comfort the terrified baby.
Realizing that he has scared his baby daughter, Arron tried to calm his still angry self.
He let Hebe hold Heather, running a shaking hand through his thick black hair.
Hebe murmured sweet words to the baby as she cried along with her daughter.
Arron tried to patiently explain to Gui Gui about what Hebe had said.
It finally dawned on Gui Gui and Wang Zi that Hebe didn’t trust her and thought that Arron and Gui Gui had a thing going.
Gui Gui remembered the incident Hebe was talking about.
With tears gathering in her eyes, Gui Gui walked over to Hebe’s side and murmured “Sorry.”
Hebe’s eyes shot up at Gui Gui’s apology and attempted to make a run out for it meant in her mind that Gui Gui and Arron were actually together once upon a time.
Gui Gui caught a hold of Hebe and saw more tears swell into Hebe’s eyes.
Gui Gui looked helplessly to Arron and Wang Zi for help, when she noticed that Wang Zi gone.
Terrified, Gui Gui questioned “Where did Wang Zi go?”
Arron replied in a monotone voice “He said something about going to find his son, when he heard the word ‘sorry’ fly out of your mouth.”
Shock appeared on Gui Gui’s face, but then Gui Gui got a thought of Wang Zi getting the wrong idea about her apology.
In a hurry, she went out the door in search for Wang Zi.
She found him in the grassy area of the hospital, playing with their son.
Quietly she hid behind a pole watching them play.
She saw the smile on his face, but behind it she saw the sadness etched in.
After awhile, Jacob Matthew spotted his mommy.
He wiggled free of his daddy’s hold and ran to her, screaming “Mommy! Mommy!”
Wang Zi turned to see where Jacob Matthew was running to.
Gui Gui’s and Wang Zi’s eyes met with sadness, questioning about their future, as they slowly walked side by side back up to Hebe's room.
