During this time Ella and Chun were inside, staring at each other in complete silence.
Ella kept crying, while Chun just couldn't find a way to explain for he, himself, was confused.
He only knew that he wanted to say 'sorry' repeatedly if he that it would stop her steady flow of tears that were running a stream down her face and onto their precious daughter.
He wanted to apologize, but he knew that the apology wouldn't even be close to enough and it wouldn’t be what she wanted to hear from him anyways.
His anger at her for not trusting him or her best friend filled him with agony that prevented him from answering his heart’s desire to rush over and gather her into his arms once and for all.
In his mind, he couldn't recall, even to himself, why Selina would hug and kiss him, but it was a one time only thing and she did apologize afterward, asking him to keep it a secret.
He believed that Selina did it for a reason that couldn't be spoken aloud and he accepted it, thinking that no one could have possibly seen the interaction.
Now he was only hoping that Selina would return and explain it once and for all to all of them.
As if his prayer has been heard, Selina appeared with a kid and Jiro in tow.
Chun was so shocked by the kid that he let out a loud "Oh" that left his mouth hanging.
His 'Oh' was shortly followed by a gasp.
Turning, all eyes finally came into focus on the normally calm and resilient Ella.
Together they stared at the little kid that was almost an exact replicate of Jiro but he was a much younger version.
Selina looked at their stun expression and realized she'll have to explain the whole story now or forever be open to questions.
She held her son tightly close to her for courage as she got ready to finally voice out all the secrets of demons she had been holding onto deep inside of her heart in fear that left her unable to ever discuss it with anyone.
Seeing everyone seated, she began:
“I was still dating Jiro, when Genie also began to express her fancies and likes for Jiro. Everyday she'll come and taunt me, telling me to back off from him or else she'll do this or that to me. At first they were empty threats until one day I found out that I was pregnant with little Jacob here.”
Cutting his mommy off, little Jacob Matthew blurted out "It's Jacob Matthew, Mommy" from the deep embrace of his mother’s hug after hearing his name.
Jacob Matthew has already broken the silence, so Jiro took the advantage to speak.
Jiro asked uncertainly, "Why didn't you come to me?"
Then in a tortured whisper, he breathed "Did you think I wouldn't be there to help and protect you and our little baby.......?"
As another thought took form in his mind, his voice came out more tortured and strangled, threatening to choke him “Did you think that I wouldn’t believe that the child is mine and demand a DNA test?”
Jacob Matthew immediately broke away from his mother to his daddy's side, afraid that his daddy will leave him for another child.
Jiro’s words of ‘our little baby’ led Jacob Matthew to mistakenly think that his father meant another baby that would become his younger brother or sister.
Now without her son in her arms, Selina felt extremely nervous as she tried to continue on in an anxious voice to try to make sure that Jiro wouldn't mistaken anything else.
Continuing on, she said:
“No! No! It wasn't like that. It was just....... (she hugged herself in agony as she recalled the seriously painful memories)..... It’s just that she threatened me with the baby's life and yours. I didn't know how she could have found out about the child, when I was just going to tell you the day right after I found out about it, but she did anyway and put it into good use. She told me that I either had the choice to abort the child and then she would allow me to remain with you or I can keep the child and leave you or I could choose to keep the child and try to remain with you. I wanted to choose the last choice but I knew she wouldn't let me off that easily and she didn't. She told me that if I picked the last choice, she can definitely guarantee me that you, the baby, and I will be in danger that will end all of our lives. So I had to pick the second choice. I couldn't kill our baby. I just couldn't. I also couldn’t risk your life, no matter how much you think you might have been able to protect us by yourself. I just couldn’t. I’ll never forgive myself if anything happened to you. She told me in order to live with the second choice and live, I had to follow her plans, which involved Chun. She must have known that you wouldn't remain with me if you knew that I had killed our precious little baby. So she made sure that the only way she can badmouth me and get to you was if I did something really bad to hurt you. That was why she told me to make sure to make a date with you to that park under that tree. It was all a plot to get you to witness my affection for Chun. I was going to go back and tell you the whole truth, but by that time you were with her and I was scared you wouldn't believe in me. Plus you had a baby on the way and I didn't want to be the one to get rid of its father after seeing how Jacob Matthew didn't have his. He was constantly wishing that he had a father and used every wish he had for one. It was just so sad to see him that way, knowing that it was my entire fault. I only had myself to blame for everything.”
Her voice started breaking and cracking as she tried to finish.
Tears slowly made their ways down her porcelain cheeks that gripped Jiro's heart in a twist.
He couldn't believe that she had to go through all that suffering by herself just for him and his child, but he had to get a grip onto his emotions before he could do anything else.
Selina turned out to be much stronger than he was for she turned to look at Chun in earnest and apologized sadly “Chun, I’m really, really, really sincerely sorry. I’m so sorry I used you. I knew it was wrong, but I just needed to save my child. She never told me she was going to get anyone to watch. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry forever and ever. You may hate me, but I’m sorry……”
Her voice cracked and more tears leaked out of her eyes to drip like a flower bud drinking in too much water.
Then she went to Ella and sat down beside her.
In a soft gentle tone of voice, she apologized "Sorry, sorry, sorry. A million times sorry. I really, really didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't really have a choice. I wouldn't and couldn't ask for your forgiveness, but I was just so scared. If I knew this would have hurt so many people, I should have just gotten an abortion. That way only I would have been in pain at the knowledge that I had killed my own child that I love so much, even before he was even born."
Hearing Selina's last sentence, Jiro's resolve snapped.
He can't bear the thought of not having Jacob Matthew in his life, flourishing under his love for him.
He can't bear the thought of Selina getting rid of the child they had created in love that represented all they ever had and probably still have.
He didn't even try to hide his emotions as he rushed to Selina's side and gathered her into his arms.
He held her so tightly that she barely got the chance to breathe.
Anxiously, he whispered in a repeating cry "No!
No! No!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... You can't get rid of him. He represents us....... He represents all the love we ever had and still have....."
He uttered the last bit hopefully.
With that, tears started sliding down his cheeks as he buried himself into Selina's arms.
In return, Selina held him tightly in her arms.
Her heart broke out into as many as one million pieces at the sight of him crying so painfully in her arms.
Soothingly, she tried to calm him down, rubbing soft and gentle circles on his back and whispering “Yes. Yes. I know.”
Jacob Matthew saw his father crying and grew alarmed as tears spilled down his face.
Selina gathered him into her arms too.
Together the three hugged each other like a warm cozy family should.
Then the last four words Selina whispered made Jiro's heart stopped beating.
"I still love you......." floated like a caress into his ears, warming his heart and cracking a broad smile on his face.
He looked up into her eyes and kissed her.
They exploded into a world of their own.
Chun, Ella, and Annabelle were left forgotten for the time being, when Annabelle decided to make her presence known once again and let out a loud wail that drew everyone back to the reality of the hospital room.
