Chapter 19

Visit at night

She raced up to her room and she bent down next to her bed and felt under it for her handgun. She got a hold of it and she took it out. It was in a suitcase. She brought the suitcase onto the bed. She opened it and took her gun. She hadn¡¦t used it in a while, since it was usually Ron who did all the shooting, she did the planning, and hacking if ever needed. She assembled her gun. She grabbed her black jacket from the hanger, and put her belt on. She then slipped her gun at the back and left the room. Little did she know that her each step was being watched through the window.

It was still pouring outside. She got into her car and started the engine. She sped down the road and onto the highway. She slowly pulled into the parking lot once again and stopped the car. She closed her eyes and waited. The sun was setting already. She opened her eyes and caught a glimpse of the setting sun. She turned to the front of the hospital. She saw Raymond along with Leila headed out. She wondered where they were going, they were supposed to be protecting Philip at the moment. She didn't know what they were going to do, but she knew that this is her opportune moment. Now there was only one left upstairs. She quickly got out of her car and ran inside. She took the elevator up and pressed the button. The doors opened and she stepped out of it. There was a bit of squeaking noise made by her shoes, but she ignored them. She reached Philip's room. Nobody was outside, which meant that Bosco must be inside. She looked around her, there was nobody in sight. She stood on the right side of the door, stretched her left arm out and knocked on the door. Footsteps could be heard from the indside. She watched the door knob turn. She was still standing next to the door when it opened. She pulled out her gun and held it tightly.

Bosco didn't see anyone at the door. He poked his head out and turned to the left to see if there was anyone there. Tavia took this opportunity and hit the back of his head with her gun. He let out a soft groan and fell down. Tavia caught him just in time and pulled him inside. She let him fall onto the ground softly. She looked over at the bed. Philip was sleeping. She walked towards him slowly, her gun in her hand. She lifted it up and pointed it at his head. She placed her index finger on the trigger, but she didn't pull it. She breathed heavily. She closed her eyes, and all she could think about was Raymond. If it had been before she met Raymond, she would have pulled the trigger already, but now she hesitated. She didn't want to kill Philip anymore. There was only one person she wanted to kill right this instant. She lowered her gun from Philip's head. She shut her eyes tightly.

Raymond and Leila returned to the hospital. They had just bought what Philip asked them to. Raymond wondered why Philip insisted that he go buy him food when he gets fed in the hospital anyway. The doors to the elevators opened and they stepped out. At the corner of his eye, he saw a girl walk past him and enter the elevator beside his. He turned and saw the doors close but through the gap, he saw her face. It was Tavia.

"Leila, go back to the room, I'll be right back alright, hurry!" he ordered and turned to press the button to the elevator frantically. He couldn't wait anymore. He decided to take the stairs instead. He pushed opened the doors and jumped down the stairs. He got to the ground floor and pulled opened the door. He saw Tavia just exit the hospital. He ran after her.

"Tavia! Stop right there!" he shouted. Now they were both outside. She stopped; he quickened his pace and caught up to her. He pulled onto her elbow and turned her around. The rain was wetting every inch of them, but they ignored it. At first, Tavia gave him a cold stare, but then it changed. He saw in her eyes sorrow and weakness. He couldn't tell whether she was crying or if it was the rain. She shook her head.

"I couldn't do it, I couldn't," she said, her voice was shaking. "I couldn't do it," she repeated. Raymond took a step closer to her, at that very moment, he could feel her weakness, he had the urge to take her into his arms, to protect her from any harm, but he stopped himself. Tavia raised her hands to her face. She brushed her hair away from her face. "I had it at his head," she gasped. "I was that close to finish the job, I really was, but I stopped, I couldn't do it," she cried. She grabbed onto Raymond's arms. "Raymond," she shook her head. "Just when I was going to do it, I thought of you," she said softly. "I couldn't do it because of you," she was taking gasps of breath in between words. Raymond was almost sure she was crying now, he could see her tears even through the thick rain. "I've tired so hard to change, I've tried so hard to stop, but why won't he let me go!?" she shouted. "Raymond, I never meant to hurt you, I never did, I loved you, you know I did, and I still do!" she cried more.

Raymond couldn't hold his feelings in anymore. For too long had he looked at her, but not shown her his true feelings. For too long had he turned away from her. He pulled her to himself and wrapped his arms around her slender body. He could hear her cry. "I've always loved you too, and I still do," he whispered. "And always will," he added softly. "I'm sorry I doubted you, I'm sorry for causing so much pain..." His arms tightened around her.

Tavia felt so comfortable in his arms, even with the cold wind and rain, she felt warmth. She was afraid to lose him again. She was afraid that this moment would end. Raymond pulled apart from the hug. He then leaned over and kissed her lightly on the lips. He pulled away, but Tavia continued following him, and she planted another kiss on his lips.

From the window on the second floor, Leila and Bosco were watching the two down below. Leila had found Bosco lying unconscious on the ground, but she woke him up. "Wonder what happened..." Bosco whispered.

What was unknown to all four of them was that not only were Bosco and Leila surveying the two, but there was someone else at a window not too far away, observing the scene developing before him.

Raymond offered to take Tavia home, but she insisted that he should stay here since that was where he is supposed to be. He gave in and so Tavia returned alone. She got home and dried herself. She then changed into some clean clothes and lied on her bed. She closed her eyes and smiled. She was glad that she was able to be with Raymond again. That moment when he held her in his arms was just so comfortable. The kiss they shared reminded her of all the good times they had together. She suddenly opened her eyes when she remembered that she was still imposed with responsibility. Derek would never let her off the hook that easily. "I'll have to talk to him..." she thought. She closed her eyes again and pictured what happened earlier. Slowly, she fell asleep. She woke up later that night. She looked at her bedside clock. It was 11:00 sharp. She got up from her bed and stretched a little. She made her way downstairs and yawned as she did. She turned on the kitchen lights and wondered what was there that she could eat when she caught a glimpse of a figure outside of her kitchen window. She pretended that she didn't noticed the figure and she opened her fridge. She glanced sideways and the figure was still there. She took a bowl of already made salad out and closed the fridge, then she left the kitchen, turning off the lights as she left.

Nancy felt her way around the brick wall when suddenly, she felt a firm hand on her shoulder. She froze.

"Who are you?" the female voice asked.

"I don't think you need to know," Nancy answered as she grabbed her hand and flipped her over her back. Tavia who was a master in Judo landed on her two feet. She spun around and came face to face with Nancy. She creased her eyebrows. She and Nancy had never officially met before, why would she be here? Was the question which ran through her head as they exchanged stares. Before she came to a conclusion, Nancy had started her attack. She first threw out a punch which Tavia swiftly dodged. Nancy brought both fists back to herself, and then she stared straight into Tavia's eyes. She then ran towards her and threw a series of punches which all were blocked by Tavia. Nancy was surprisingly a very good fighter, regardless to her size. She had a strong punch and was quite fast too, in fact she gave almost no time for Tavia to counter attack. All Tavia could do at the moment was to block. Nancy released another powerful punch, but this time instead of blocking, Tavia caught her fist and held it tightly in her grip. Nancy used her left hand and attempted to land a punch on Tavia's head when Tavia raised her right arm and stopped it also. Tavia then kicked out her foot and swept Nancy off her feet.

Nancy quickly got back up and glared at her. She charged at her and did a kick as she jumped. Tavia blocked it with both hands, but she still fell backwards. When Tavia got back up, Nancy had already left, and was now out of her view. Tavia shook her arm which was somewhat numb. "Who is she...what is she doing here, and why would she know how to fight? She and Ron are dating aren't they?" she thought. So many unanswered questions lingered in her mind. She had to talk to Ron about this.
