"You ok?"
Maki turned at who was talking to her. The nicely shaped eyebrow and narrow eyes boy was sitting next to her. "Fine. Just hate all that crap. Gangs...just stupid."
"2 cokes please." he ordered, the 'water'tender handed him his drinks and he offered one to Maki, which she took. "It's what we do to pass the time. Besides it goes a lot deeper than you think. To you it seems like another turf war, to us it's what we're willing to fight and protect."
"Thats the thing...why are you fighting to protect something that you don't care about?"
"What do you mean?" he asked turning towards her.
"Ok, you fight and defend for a piece of land that you don't even give back to. I don't see any of your rich faced, snotty nosed jerks helping the elderly, cleaning parks, streets, NOTHING to give back to what you want. It's pointless. All I see is shiny cars, couture outfits...DOGS IN 400000 WON BAGS! RIDICULOUS!" she preached.
He laughed, "You're so passionate. I'm Top by the way."
"Maki...and someone has to be dammit. Besides I'm not a big city girl. I hate it here."
"You're not giving it a chance."
He looked at the girl next to him, her face was a mess, but she looked so real...she was different he could tell. She shrugged.
"Why don't you join our girls? I'm sure you'll fit in with them."
"I don't even go to your school."
"Switch then."
"Yeah right. Besides my parents went here and there is no way my dad would let me switch schools...no matter what."
"Then go on a date with me. I'll show you what you're missing out in Seoul." he gave her a mischevious grin.
"I don't know...let me think about it? I don't really like to hang out with strangers."
"Then why are you with DBSK?"
"Not by choice..."
"Did Jae Joong do that to your face?"
"Hardly...anyways I'm going to go back, I'm starving." Top followed her back to the table and the curly haired pigtail girl had taken Maki's spot next to Jae Joong.
They were chatting away about something and he didn't even look up when she came back. Top went over to talk with the rest of the guys leaving Maki to sit on the end of the couch next to Jae Joong and Ms. Pigtails. No one else was eating so Maki just dug in herself. Jae Joong couldn't help but take glances past Shin-Ae's shoulder to look at Maki. She was eating not caring about anyone else in the world...not even him. He had watched when Top followed Maki and they sat at the bar talking..what were they talking about he had wondered. She seemed more into him then she had been with Jae Joong, he figured that two could play this game...but it seemed like he was losing.
Maki got up and went to the bathroom after awhile. She looked at herself in the mirror, "Horrible." She shook her head and looked at the areas Jae Joong had caressed earlier with his smooth fingers. The cut above her right cheek, the bruised area on the corner of her lips...she touched them imagining Jae Joong's fingertips. She shivered. "Stop that. He's nothing but trouble...noticed how he didn't even pay anymore attention to you when a cuter girl came around?" She was angry and hurt inside but he will never know.
When she left the bathroom she slowly made her way back to the table. Big Bang, DBSK, and now 5 more girls had joined the group. She noticed the significant red jewelry that each of them were wearing. RH had arrived afterall. Maki's hands clenched into fists, she wanted to go over there and personally thank each one of them for last night. She got as close as possible to the group without anyone seeing her. She grinned when she saw that they didn't come out of the battle unscathed. Two girls had black eyes, one had a busted lip, another one was limping everywhere, and the last one Hye Su, had her arm in sling. Maki laughed evilly to herself. "Serves em right. Till next time..."
Suddenly the lights in the club dimmed down and the DJ began to announce something. "Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight we have some very special guests that would like to put on a mini talent show for us tonight. Let's give it to BIG BANG and our club's very own D-B-S-Kaaayy."
Everyone inside started to scream and holler. Maki felt like she was at a pre-teen concert. She watched as the two groups made their way to the stage. All 10 guys stood in their prospective groups and turned to face each other. DBSK stood in a nice straight line, while Big Bang stood in different poses. Top stood in the back a little, hands shoved in his pockets and glaring with his narrow eyes, very effective. The leader GDragon had his arms crossed and stood out in front a bit with his head tilted to the side. Seung Ri and Tae Yang just stood around, not really paying attention to anyone else, and Dae Sung stood there, smiling pretty.
Maki looked between the two groups of guys, "DBSK seems so...boring compared to Big Bang...Big Bang has this won. No doubt." She made up in her mind. DBSK won the coin toss and Big Bang would be performing first. DBSK left the stage and Big Bang went into a huddle together.They broke and got into some type of dance formation. A soft beat began to play, suddenly it sped up and became an uptempo dance song. The beats were pulsating and booming. GDragon sang to crowd, girls squealing like little fan girls. It was amazing. Maki couldn't help but nod her head to the beat. She was amazed by their dancing skills, they were hip hop through and through. She loved watching Tae Yang do flairs on the floor and Seung Ri's pop locking. What really caught her off guard was Top's rapping, his voice was this weird rough melodic sound. She was lost in his voice. It blended so well with Dae Sung's harmonies. They did two more explosive performances. One showcased their awesome English lyrics and the other was song by GDragon, Top, and Ms. Pigtails from their group [who knew she had talent?]...it was a very sexy song...and once again Top's rap was a melody to her ears. They ended their set and the whole place went wild, even Maki was clapping wildly, she even thinks she saw a panty get thrown on stage.
"Wow wow wow!" The DJ came back on stage, "How did you like that ladies and gents?! Big Bang can rock a party yeah?!" The crowd cheered, "But will it be enough to beat our champs?! Our one and only DBSK?! GIVE IT UP FOR THE BOYS!!" This time the cheers were different, it was a deafening sound. Chants began for DBSK to come out.
"You've got to be kidding me..." Maki thought to herself, "There is NO way those 5 are better then Big Bang...I refuse to believe it!"
