Chapter 2

"Who was that?" Eun asked Junsu.
He didn't seem to hear the hint of jealousy in her voice, "Oh just a new girl. She sits next to me in homeroom. Very nice."
"YAH! Why are you always talking to other girls?"
"HUH?" Junsu asked in a squeaky voice, confused.
"Don't get mad at him. You know he's just a nice guy..." Yunho said coming to his dongsaeng's rescue.
"Besides she's kind of fat, none of our guys would fall for that." Ae-cha pointed out.
"Really I didn't notice?" Yoochun said outloud, Ae-cha turned to him and glared, he began sipping on his juice and continued to look over his homework.

"Hey guys." a deep husky voice said out of nowhere.
"HYUNG!" Changmin said happily.
Jae Joong sat down at the table looking exhausted.
"Are you ok?" Hye Su asked and began rubbing his back.
He cringed, "Yeah...just working late on a project." He shrugged so that she'd take her hands off of him, but she didn't budge. He started to pick off his dongsaengs' plates. Hye Su tried to feed him food but he'd just avoid her efforts by keeping his attention towards the leader and his best friend, Yunho. He hated being mean to her, but she didn't get it either way. So why bother...

Maki walked to the back of the cafeteria and found the boy from earlier sitting alone. She set down her plate, "Can I sit here?" she asked. He looked up from his manga and grinned. "I'm Maki." she said.
"Hyo." he said in a quite pleasant voice.
"What are you reading?" Maki asked.
He lifted up his comic book, "Naruto...I can't wait for the show anymore...I need to know."
"Oh I know! I gave up reading the mangas though...too expensive."
He grinned, happy that someone didn't think he was a freak, "You can borrow mine if you like. My older brother owns a comic books store...so I get first dibs on issues."
"Sure that sounds awesome." Maki grinned, "This kid isn't so bad." she said to herself.

"Excuse me." A small squeaky voice said. Maki almost didn't even hear her, she turned and looked up, the girl was standing at the end of their table holding on to her plate tightly. "Can I sit with you guys?" Maki nodded and she sat down, well it looked more like she fell into her seat. "I'm Sanny."
"Nice to meet you. Weird...the new kids became friends." Maki said outloud.
"Friends?" the two said together.
"Why not? We can bond on our first day as the new kids in this wacky school, where it seems like there are nothing but overly rich, gorgeous people." Maki said. The other two grinned. She smiled back at them, grateful that they were normal enough for her to befriend.

The rest of the day passed by easily...too easy. But Maki didn't care, she didn't see Hyo or Sanny for the rest of the day so she just left. As she walked out of the school she saw Junsu standing around with the same 3 guys from earlier. She turned back around and walked into a chest. She stepped back and rubbed her nose, "Mianhae." she said and walked by without looking at who she bumped into. Jae Joong grunted and continued on his way, he looked back and watched as the girl walked away without even giving him a glance.

Maki made her way home, her father chose a medium-sized two bedroom house on the upper side of town, not really the poor district but they were out there. She didn't mind, it had a beautiful view of the city lights, so she loved every moment of it.

She walked in, "I'm home." she called.
"MAKI! I'm in here!" she heard her father calling out from the kitchen. She walked in and he was in full cooking mode.
"What are you making now?"
"A western dish...spaghetti." he said proudly.
"I think that's an Italian dish dad..."
"Oh...hmm either way they're still 'west' of us. Doesn't it smell delicious?" he smiled proudly.

Maki nodded, she never understood her dad's fascination with food. Her mom had always tried to get him to go to culinary school...but he didn't want to leave the family. He was a great cook he was always able to put his own spin on food. Maki inherited NONE of his cooking skills. She tried...her damndest actually to cook, but everything always came out wrong. She gave up after awhile. What she did inherit was her mom's love for the piano and martial arts. Yeah she never understood her parents either...

"So! How was your first day of school?"
"Boring. I like it. No one talked to me, I made 2 safe, normal friends on my own...and you placed me in one of the richest schools ever. What were you thinking?"
"Well a friend of mine told me that Seoul Academy was the best of the best."
"Yeah I could see why. There's nothing but overly gorgeous people at that school. It's scary...I don't fit in at all. Hey how about I transfer schools? That would be fun...and cheap."
"Maki, we've talked about this. If you want to go study in the States we need to get you in the top schools...and you know that Seoul Academy has the highest transfer rates for State schooling."
"Yeah because they can afford it too, they probably paid someone to take their test for them...that or they paid someone to just approve them to go."
"Be nice Maki..."
"I'm trying Appa...really I am...remember I made two new friends?"
"You should invite them over for dinner!"
"The guy might come over...the girl...she might die of fright if I asked her to come over."

Her father heard nothing of that but the word guy, "BOY?! Yah! I told you no boyfriends!!" he yelled at her.
She rolled her eyes, "Appa first of all, this guy is NOT my type..if I had one..it still wouldn't be him. And two...no guy is getting within 900 yards of me, for me to like. At least not at this school. People avoid me like the black plague...it's funny actually."
Her dad winced, "I wish you wouldn't talk about yourself like that. Your Umma would turn in her grave if she heard you down yourself."
"Yes but Umma also understood."
"Women."
"Men." Maki mocked her dad.
He smacked his lips, "Go shower and get ready for dinner."
She saluted, "Sir yes sir!" she said and ran off to the bathroom giggling when her dad threw his towel at her.
After dinner Maki practiced on the piano for a bit, she always ended the night playing her mom's favorite lullaby. It was a song that her mother would hum to her every night. There were no words just the sweet melodic sound of her mother's voice. Maki had turned that into a piano versioin. Once she was done she went outside and did a little bit of meditation with her dad before bed.

DBSK and R.H. sat in the VIP lounge of Club Deuce, the place was packed that night and girls galore kept coming up to Jae Joong to ask him for a dance. He'd refused nicely each and every time. "Hyung, you're such a downer. All these hot girls and you say no to each and every one of them." Yoochun pointed out.
"That's because he has me." Hye Su said and linked her arms through Jae Joong's. Jae Joong kept silent. "C'mon let's go dance." she whispered in his ear.
He took a sip from his whiskey. "Maybe later, I'm not in the mood right now." he casually pulled his arm from her grasp and moved to an individual couch.

She glared at him. "One day...you won't deny me anymore." she said bitterly. She took a shot of vodka and left the room with the girls trailing behind her.
Once the girls left, Yunho turned to Jae Joong, "YAH! You're going to ruin it for the rest of us hyung! Why can't you just give her a chance? You two would make the greatest couple!"
Jae Joong sighed, "Minahae...I just can't pretend to like someone when I clearly don't. Cute girl...but I'm tired of all this fakeness."
Junsu reached across the table and felt Jae Joong's forehead, "No fever...what's wrong with you? You're like a walking sex organ, you had a new girl every night. Now you're...so...righteous."

Jae Joong laid his head back against the wall, it was true...he was the biggest player in the group...why was he different now? "I just want something more than a one night stand...is that so hard to understand?"
"Our hyung is looking for love?" Changmin asked happily, looking at Jae Joong with admiration.
"The day he falls in love with A...girl...I'm running around school naked." Yoochun said laughing. The rest of the guys laughed as well. Even Jae Joong cracked a smile.
"Me? Fall in love?...whatever." he said to himself. But he was glad he had his dongsaengs, they always knew how to cheer him up.
