"Omma." He heard her say, "Tell me what to do? I'm so crazy about this pabool. It's scary how much Appa likes him too. But Omma, I'm scared. What if this isn't right? What if I'm fighting a losing battle? My heart can only take so much loss. I feel like I'm going crazy..."
"I'm not going to let you fight alone woman." he finally said. She turned around and saw him standing behind her. She quickly wiped the tears from her face. He sat down behind her and pulled her into his arms. "You're freezing." he whispered into her hair.
"My heart feels like it's slowly stopping for you."
"You told me I was here for you...won't that make you here for me?" he asked. "Don't give up on me...don't give up on us."
"Jae Joong-ssi I've never been so scared in my life until I met you. I don't understand these feelings."
"It's called love, pabool."
"How do you know for sure?" she asked.
"You say that your heart feels like it's slowly stopping...have you ever thought that maybe it's beating so fast that you can't tell that it's even beating at all? Whenever you see me do you not feel lightheaded and dizzy as if you're being lifted into the air too fast? When I kiss you, doesn't your body react to me? When you see me smile or hear my voice, doesn't your heart melt?" he asked. She nodded once, "Then that is love."
"How do you know?"
"Because thats exactly how I feel whenever I'm around you. Even when you yell at me or look like you want to kill me. All I want to do is pull you into my arms and kiss you like crazy until you forget why you're mad at me. Whenever I watch you fight, you always amaze me the way your body moves so quickly and fluidly. You're so beauitful that it hurts my eyes too look at you sometimes. In my world, you're the Jae Joong that everyone wants and can never get enough of. You're like a shiny toy that everyone is dazzled by."
"You give me too much credit."
He chuckled and squeezed her, "I meant it when I said 'saranghae', didn't you?" he asked.
"Of course. You're the first guy I've said it too, besides Appa."
His voice turned serious then, "Why won't you tell me why you can't get along with Aya?"
"Right now isn't the time. Please just understand me on this."
"I do. I do. I won't push you. Just know that no matter what I'm on your side."
"I know..." she said.
"C'mon I better get you home before you freeze to death out here. I don't know how I'll be able to explain it to your Appa." He stood up and helped her up.
When they were outside her gate, she turned around and finally looked at him. He had his head cocked to the side waiting for her to say something. She took in his face, something she loved to do. Pictures did Jae Joong no justice. It captured him, but never in his whole essence. The man was too beautiful for words.
He looked to the side and chuckled, "You're staring." Jae Joong's side profile was another thing, it gave him a more mysterious look about him...and it was such a damn good side profile.
"I can't help it. You're so pretty." she said.
He glared at her at the word 'pretty'. "By the way you need to be punished."
"What for?!"
"For making me worry about you. I'm going to get wrinkles for sure at this rate."
She made a disgusted look at him and he laughed and went in for a kiss. She slipped her arms around his neck and pressed her body closer to his. He was so warm now, it was so inviting. They fell against the gate and her head hit a metal bar, "ITTAI!" she yelled out in Japanese. Jae Joong laughed against her lips.
"I think that is a sign from your Omma for not being lady like." he grinned.
"Hah! Don't bring her into this. If anything it's Appa..." they both shuddered at the thought. They looked at each other and giggled. She kissed him once more, her lips lingering on his, as the rest of her body forced its way into the gate of her house. Finally their lips parted and she disappeared inside. Jae Joong sighed and his fingers caressed his lips, his lips still warm from their kiss.
As Jae Joong walked away from her house, he turned and looked behind him. "I know you're there. You might as well come out."
A tall figure stepped out from the shadows. "Hmm I guess I can't get much passed you."
"Hmm." was all Jae Joong said.
"It's nice to see you two getting along so well. I'm sorry I let her get away."
"You don't deserve her Top."
"Maybe not, but our school does. We'll do whatever it takes to make her switch schools by her own decisions. From the looks of things, she still hasn't told you why she hates Aya huh?" Top asked.
Jae Joong looked at him, "How the hell do you know about that?"
"I know a lot more about Maki then you do. Hmph. I guess in the short time I was with her, she opened to me a lot more than she has to you. What a shame...it was nice comforting her. Especially when I took her to bed. What a wild night that was."
Jae Joong grabbed Top by his shirt collar and slammed him up against the wall, "Geo jit mal." [Lies]
"Really now? Well then if you really want to know...ask her how her mother died." Top shoved Jae Joong away, "She will transfer to Cho-Young before the war. It's a promise. Come to think of it...she'll probably be in my bed again long before that." Top walked away with an evil chuckle.
Jae Joong punched the wall next to him, he felt the pain run up his arm as his knuckles bled. But that pain didn't compare to what his heart was feeling at the moment. Jae Joong walked home with the weight of the world upon his shoulders.
