Chapter 1

"Do you remember what today is?" Ri In asked her boyfriend sweetly. He smiled innocently and shrugged.

"Not a clue."

"Junsu!" she exclaimed, playfully shoving him. The expression on her face then turned serious as she asked him, "You didn't really forget, did you?"

"Well..." He studied her face as she stared intently at him. He found it adorable how she always managed to fall for his lies every single time that he teased her-and that was rather often. Perhaps it was this innocence of hers that made him love her so much-or maybe it was that cute childish pout of hers, which she had on her face right now. He gently placed his hand under her chin, tilting her face upwards so that it was easier for him to kiss her on the lips. When he pulled away, he was grinning. "Don't be silly, Ri In. Of course I remember. It's our three-year anniversary. How could I ever forget how long it's been since I was able to call you mine?"

She glared at him. "Three years of you still teasing me all the time. Stupid Oppa!"

Ri In turned around, her long hair hitting Junsu square in the face (just as she had secretly intended for it to) and started to walk back towards her apartment.

"Yes, and three years of you still falling for my lies. You'd think that you would know better by now," Junsu laughed as he easily caught up to her. He grabbed her arm, and she was forced to stop and turn around. "Come on. You already spent hours trying to look pretty for Oppa. You might as well let me take you out and see what I've prepared for us tonight."

Ri In pursed her lips and looked at him thoughtfully. "Fine. BUT only because I wasted all that time of my life dressing up all pretty for you. No kisses for you until you make it up to me for teasing me on the day of our anniversary!"

Junsu sighed. She was so easy to anger. Hell has no wrath like a woman scorned-the saying definitely applied to his girlfriend, as much as he loved her.

"You're definitely going to give me kisses again once you find out what I've got planned!" He took her hand, and was glad when she didn't resist.

"Why do you always want kisses? I have such a pervert for a boyfriend!" Ri In made a face. In response, Junsu simply stuck out his tongue at her.

"It's not like I ever hear you complaining about my kisses," he pointed out.

"I'm just too nice to complain," she answered, although her face turned rather crimson.

"Riiight." Junsu rolled his eyes.

"So what do you have planned that's so great? Telll me," Ri In prodded.

"An entire four hours spent at the place where we first met, followed with a romantic dinner that I personally cooked for you, and then ended with a drive to the beach, where we will reminisce under the stars and fall asleep in each other's arms to a beautiful sunrise," he said dramatically. "It's all very romantic, just like me. Now doesn't that deserve a kiss?"

"You're right, it all does sound pretty romantic. Maybe I'll give you a kiss..." Her voice trailed off and they stopped walking. He closed his eyes and leaned down to kiss her, but before his lips could touch hers, she finished her sentence, "...later."

She stuck out her tongue at him and skipped ahead towards their first destination. About fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the amusement park.

"Who knew that one day I would be grateful that some crazy girl had stolen my cotton candy?" Junsu sighed.

"Hey, who are you calling crazy?" Ri In demanded. "Anyway, you were the one who stole MY cotton candy."

"More like the other way around! You're such a little pig that you couldn't even wait a few seconds longer. Don't you remember that I ordered before you? That friend of yours had to tie his shoelace and the both of you ended up outside of the line," he reminded her.

"That friend of mine has a name, you know," she responded. "I still don't understand why you can't get along with Hankyung. How can you not even know the name of your own girlfriend's best friend?"

She shook her head at him disapprovingly.

"Obviously I know his name. How can I forget the name of the person who tried to steal away my girlfriend?" Junsu still couldn't help but to scowl at the memory. Hankyung had tried to sabotage the couple's relationship during the first few months because he had been unable to accept the fact that his feelings for Ri In were unrequited. Although he eventually got over those feelings and came to accept the couple, the relationship between him and Junsu was still tense and practically nonexistent. Junsu had been unable but to feel relieved when he was told that Hankyung had acquired a girlfriend of his own. Although he knew that the feelings between Hankyung and Ri In were purely platonic, he had honestly feared that Ri In might one day wake up believing that she had chosen the wrong person.

"It was a long time ago," she said gently. "He has a girlfriend now anyway. Leave all those other things in the past. Hankyung Oppa is good and cares about me, just like you."

"No," Junsu said firmly. They both stopped in their tracks, having arrived in front of the ferris wheel. "He may be good, but I care about you much more than he ever will."

"Silly Oppa. Of course I know that. And as much as I love Hankyung Oppa, I love Junsu Oppa much, much more." Ri In leaned up on her toes and brushed her lips against her boyfriend's cheek.

"See? I knew you'd kiss me again." Junsu chuckled.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes. Her phone suddenly started to ring.

"Whatever happened to the phones-off tradition?" he wondered aloud.

"I'm sorry! I set unimportant phone calls to silent, but since this one is actually ringing, it must be really urgent," she told him apologetically. He followed her out of the long line that had formed behind them, placing his arms around her neck as she started to speak on her phone. She leaned back into his arms as she spoke. "What's wrong? Are you sure?" There was a long pause. "Okay. Alright, I see. Don't worry. I'll be right over."

She hung up the phone and turned to face Junsu. "I'm really sorry. I have to go right now."

"Who was it?" he asked.

"Oh, um... It was Hankyung," she said uncomfortably.

"What did he want?" Junsu pushed the angry thoughts out of his head, concentrating on his troubled girlfriend instead.

"He just got dumped, and he really needs someone to talk to right now. I'm a bit worried about him," Ri In confessed. "He didn't sound too great just now."

"Is that so?" Junsu slipped his hands into his pockets, his right hand clenching onto the box containing his present for her.

"I truly am sorry." She looked stressed out. Despite his hatred for her friend, Junsu knew that Hankyung really did care for her. He understood how important it was for Ri In to feel reassured that her friend would be fine. She was the type of person who often worried over the most trivial things.

"Look, don't worry about it. I'll be fine." He smiled at her reassuringly. "You go find Hankyung and stay with him for as long as it takes for you to stop worrying."

Hearing her boyfriend actually say Hankyung's name seemed to reassure Ri In. She returned the smile, only hers was rather tense and forced. "So then what are you going to do for the next four hours?"

"Me?" The thought hadn't occurred to him. "I guess I'll just ride on all of the rides alone and eat cotton candy all by myself...and I'll take pictures of all of them so that we can photoshop you into all of them once you're done with your stuff."

Ri In giggled. This was one of the reasons that she loved Junsu so much. He was never overbearingly protective of her, and he often let her have her way. She knew that any of her other friends' boyfriends would simply have flown into a jealous rage. "Alright then."

"I'll stay with you until a taxi comes along," Junsu offered. Ri In knew better than to argue. She wanted his company for a bit longer anyway. They started towards the exit.

"I'll come back as soon as I can," she promised. "But don't wait for me if I don't show up and it's four hours later. Just go to your place and I'll arrive there...although you had better have all the food ready by then."

"Or else what?" They now stood on the sidewalk. Junsu waved at a little girl walking past them with her mother. The little girl pretended to have not seen and ignored him. Ri In remembered yet again why she loved Junsu so much. He was friendly to everyone, and the kindness was sincere.

"No kisses until our next anniversary," she said simply. Junsu's mouth dropped open.

"Whaaat? No kisses?" He raised his hand to call a passing taxi. It pulled along the curb promptly.

"Well..." Ri In quickly kissed him on the lips. She wasn't the type of girl who liked to show off with public displays of affection. "From this point on anyway."

Junsu helped her open the door and it wasn't until she was safely settled and the taxi turned around the corner that he stepped back into the park.
