She stare at the number…bit her lip…shake her head…and then take a very deep breath.
“Ok I call her now…er should I really have to call her…oh, whatever!”
She pressed the CALL button. Instantly, she heard the other line ringing.
“Oh, please let this be a good move.” she murmured to her self.
“Hello?’ asked a woman’s voice on the other line after the three rings.
“S-San Cai…” she hesitantly said.
“Yes, and who is this please?”
“San Cai…”
“Yes, this is Dao Ming San Cai, who are you? Is there anything you want from me? ”
“Xiao You…”it came from her as whisper.
“ Huh?”
“San Cai this is Xiao You.” She now speaks loud and clear. Clear enough to make the woman on the other line realized who she is and screamed like a mad man…like a madwoman.
“Xiaaaaoo Yooooouuuuuu!
Xiao You has to hold her cellphone away from her ear to avoid any listening damage upon hearing that shuttering voice of her best friend.
“Stupid woman why are shouting like that? You are scaring all our people here in the mansion.”
A slapping was heard.
“You shut up pighead! I am talking to my bestfriend nobody can stop me from shouting like these, okey!
“Bestfriend? Xiao You? Is that Xiao You?” asked the almighty F4 leader AhSi while massaging his head where the slap landed.
“Stupid! Of course who else could be my best friend, except Xiao You.!
A wide smile registers on AhSi’s face. “Where is she? I am happy that she came back here for good? I will be less worried now if at times I can’t be with you, ‘coz I know she will be with you always. ”
San Cai’s brows twisted, “How come you know that she’s here, and she’s staying with us for good.”
“Why, is she not?” inquired AhSi.
“ I- I don’t know…I just talked to her- Oh, oh my god I forgot that she’s on the other line. Xiao You, hello Xiao You are you still there?”
She places her cellphone back on her ear, when she heard San Cai talking to her again.
“Hmm, San Cai-“
“Hey Xiao You , where are you? Are you calling from Canada? Are you here in Taipei already? When did you come back? Why are you calling me only now? Why-“
“San Cai! How could Xiao You speak of her whereabouts, if you’re questioning her nonstop!”
There’s a grabbing of phone.
“Hello, XiaoYou? AhSi here, how are you? Glad to hear from you. You’re already back are you?
How come-“
There’s a slapping again.
“Will you let her speak this time, Dao Ming Si!
“Fine! Stupid woman!”
Ah Si earned a look from San Cai.
Ah Si then raises his two fingers and made a peace sign and flashed his ORAL-B killer smile.
San Cai smiled reluctantly.
Ah Si moved towards her and embraced her from the back.
“I love you, San Cai…I always do,” he whispered lovingly.
San Cai moved to face him and look intently on his eyes.
“I always knew it Ah Si. And I love you too.”
Ah Si bends his head and gives his wife a tender kiss of which San Cai lovingly accepted and responded.
“Hello, San Cai!”
“Xiao You!”
That instant, San Cai pushed back AhSi to get away from that kiss and grabbed the cellphone from his hand.
“ I'm sorry, Xiao You…I’m sorry that I forget you. This pighead here is disturbing me.”
Ah Si pointed to himself. “Me? Why me I-“
San Cai covers his mouth with her other hand.
“Wei Xiao You are you really here already in Taipei?”
“San CAi I am really happy for you, for both of you. You had found now your happiness with Dao Ming Si.”she said with a hint of envy from her voice.
“Huh, what-“
“I heard everything. How he and you professed your love to each other. You are a lucky couple having found each other again after those trials.”
“Someday you will find your happiness too, bestfriend. And I will be twice happy as you if that comes.”
San Cai genuinely smiled.
“Happiness is far from me, San CAi. I can feel that, and one thing, the only thing that could make me happy will never mine. The most impossible thing to come for me.”
With that, Xiao You begins to sob.
“Oh, do not talk like that Xiao You, it’s not true. Happiness will surely on your way now, just wait and don’t loose your hope.”
Then San Cai starts to cry also.
“Crazy woman, one moment you’re smiling and now you’re crying, let me speak to you Xiao You.” Ah Si grabbed the phone from San CAi .
“Yang Xiao You, would you care to tell us your exact location now so we can fetch you and you and your best friend here can talk properly.”
With that authority on his voice that everybody feared of, she stopped her sobbing.
“Don’t threaten my best friend, you pighead!”
Dao Ming Si just ignored that remarks from his wife.
“ Xiao You ?”
“I-I’m still in the airport Dao Ming Si…”
“Okey, just stay right where you are. We’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
“O-Okey -,” she replied.
“Okey bye.” With that Ah Si hung up.
“ Ei, how come you don’t let me end that call. I was the one she’s speaking with in the first place,” asked San CAi, again in a higher tone.
“If I didn’t do that you two will just talk and talk and talk only not realizing that you are supposed to meet. Come hurry up, we can be there in fifteen minutes as I promised her.”
Ah Si grabbed San Cai, but San Cai managed to stand firm on her foot.
“What’s your problem? You don’t want to see your bestfriend?” inquired Ah Si.
“I’m thinking…”
“Huh, you’re thinking of what?”
“How come you know that she’s already here in Taipei? She never told us that during the conversation. You just assumed that she’s in the airport, what if, if she’s still in Canada? If we’ll be there in fifteen minutes we still got to wait for another 36 hours before she can get here in Taipei, do you thought that ha?”
Ah Si again grabbed San Cai’s arms.
“Stupid woman, thinking so many things, come on nah! She’s waiting there already in our airport!”
“But how sure are you that she’s already here?”
“I have a man’s instinct…”
“Huh, but I know only woman has that.”
“You’re becoming like Mei Zhou always saying many things!”
Ah Si now drags the petite San Cai.
“Hey wait! Get of with me!”
“What is it this time, San Cai. You’re losing my temper!”
A slapping once again was done!
“You forgetful pighead! How come you don’t remember that you must be on the board meeting of the Dao Ming Corporation at exactly 9:00 AM today!”
“Huh!” Ah Si asked quizzically.
“Your mother has instructed you last night to attend the board meeting today because her schedule did not permit her to be here. And your sister has been bragging me since 6:00 this morning to remind you about this. Dao Ming Si, how could you be so lousy about doing these important things? You know that our lives and of our incoming children depend on you, being the family man. And yet you-“
Ah Si gives a quick kiss on her lips and hurriedly walked away.
“Ah Si!”
Ah Si stops from his pace and turns to his wife, “Yeah I know, I must take good care of my self because if I met an accident and suffered from amnesia again you’ll not going pursue me anymore and be out of my life forever.”
San Cai delightfully smiled. “I’m glad you always remember that. Call me when you reached the office.”
“I will.” He said and proceeds to leave from the house.
But before Ah Si finally reached the door, he turned his head again and look at where San Cai is.
“Who would accompany you to the airport?” he shouted.
“I’ll find someone. Go ahead now, you’ll gonna be late!” she shouted back.
“Okey!” Ah Si waved his hand and left.
