Chapter 10

Betrayed

Chapter 10: Betrayed

She had never thought of him hugging on his own again. When was the last time he hugged her? When was the last time he had said sorry? And when was the last time she felt so warm with him? Many thoughts were going all around in the mind as she recalled the memories she had spent with him. A shiny tear dropped from her eyes as she gave up on struggling against his strength.

“Why? Why must you say sorry at a time like this?” She whispered softly as more tears drop down. “Chun, answer me!”

For a second, she thought she heard another sorry for him. The next thing she knew, he had put in more strength to hug her, as if he doesn’t wish her to leave him. For some reason, Ella begins to think that he still cares for her. She knew that he was hiding something behind her back but she couldn’t figure what it was.

-

Rainie walked passed a classroom as she heard whisperings.

“Hey, where do you think Chun will bring that bitch to?”

“I don’t know! But we can see that she’s going to get her punishment from him! Serves her right!”

She stopped and glared at the girls, asking them. “Tell me what happened!”

After getting the information of what happened earlier, she tightens her fists with full of hatred. Having thoughts that Chun is trying his best to forget Ella, she knew Chun will never be able to do it. But if she can’t get what she wants, she’ll do anything to get it, even sacrifices.

“You’re so dead, Ella.”

-

Meanwhile, at the rooftop, his arms were still around her body closing tightly. He remembered the times when he always hugged her from her back to give her sudden surprises especially the warmth of the body. This is something he will never forget about. As his embraced got tightened again, Ella shrieked. “Chun, l-let me go.”

“NO I WON’T!”

Ella suddenly lost her power to struggle after his yelled. This was indeed strange. Why is he being so stubborn at a time like this? One moment he hurts her and now he embraced her and not letting her off. Just what does he want with her? If he doesn’t want her, why does he keep on coming back? Now it goes back to the many ‘whys’ she couldn’t understand. After Chun gave his yell at her, he cools down himself and speaks softly. “I’m sorry.”

Another sorry came from him. Ella didn’t want to continue to be confused anymore. “I don’t want this, Chun. Either you tell me what’s wrong with you acting like this or you just let me go and ignore me! I don’t want you to keep on sticking towards me when you said you don’t love me anymore!”

“Who say I don’t love you?!” He shot back, letting her body off him as he stares right into her eyes in a serious look. “I always do. I can’t control anymore, Ella. I-I just can’t keep hurting you anymore…” He then avoided from her eyes, biting his lips hardly. There are so many things he wanted to say but he knew he couldn’t. He just can’t do it. But he also couldn’t bear to hurt her any longer. What was his choice? Instead of choosing the path that will hurt her more, he chose the path they will hurt her less. But this path is not doing anything good to her at all. Because the path he chosen still hurts her.

Despite she hates the way he couldn’t explain things to her, she couldn’t bear to hate him. There must be a reason and she wants to know, eager to know and she must know about it. But if he doesn’t say anything, she will just continue stuck in her confusion. “Will it be that bad to tell me the things you want to say?” She whispered softly but she didn’t notice her hands were now hugging him back, resting her head against his comfortable chest. He didn’t reply. He chose silent again. “If you don’t wish to talk, then stop doing this. Just go back to her side and pretend nothing has ever happened to us.”

“I can’t.” He released the embrace and stares at her. “If I can, I wouldn’t have just hugged you.” He said and trailed his voice.

“Of course he can’t.”

Chun gasped when he heard this familiar voice.

“Open the damn fucking door, Chun.”

Their eyes stared at the door for awhile before Chun headed there and unlock it. And there stood the jealousy woman glaring at him dangerously. “Rainie…” He mutters. He gulped and he knew that something is going to get bad if Rainie mentioned about that thing he doesn’t want Ella to learn about.

The first thing Rainie did was gave a slap across Chun’s cheek. And it’s an extremely hard one she had ever given to someone. She felt infuriated and embarrassed. She had never met someone so far that would go against her even if she threatened him. And this time she’s not going to continue this stupid thing. She wants to end and make him suffer. And the only thing that could hurt him was to hurt Ella first.

“You really want to know what happened right?” Rainie said to Ella. Chun pulled her aside and out of the door to stop her. “Shut up, Rainie. You said you wouldn’t mention about it.” Rainie gave a coldness look at him, as if she has totally given up on this stupid game. “And you said you’ll forget about her and love me.” She fired back. But Chun didn’t careless. He didn’t want her to know about it. He knew it would be the end of the connection of him and Ella if Ella finds out about the truth. “Rainie, can we talk about this?” He tried to calm her down, hoping she could just forget about it again. But it was the other way round. He never expected Rainie has given up on this game that she’s playing. “I want to let you suffer for betraying me, Chun.” She spat with her infamous glare as she pushed him aside and walks towards Ella.

She folded her arms and smirked. “Chun had planned before hand of breaking up with you before Valentine’s Day because he realized he couldn’t match up to your standards. You were also so strict to him and have never treated him like a boyfriend. And that’s when he asked me for advice how to use a chance to break up with you with a reason as he realized that you and him are not suitable to be a couple.”

Ella almost couldn’t breathe with the words coming out of Rainie’s mouth. She was stunned on the spot and Rainie just continued with her words. “So I gave him an advice to make you angry so you can just break up with him. The night that we are having this discussion, Chun had drunk a lot of wine and caused himself to be unclear of what he was doing. But you should know people who are drunk often speak the truth. And guess what he said? He said he rather he’ll spend his time on me than you.”

“Stop!” Chun yelled, grabbing Rainie aside and pointed at her. “I don’t remember I’ve said that because I’m drunk! And I’ve never ever think of that before!” He quickly looked at Ella and noticed she has the look of the pain. He tried to move himself forward but realized she was moving back a step. “Ella…”

As if she felt fun in saying the truth, she continued. “And that night, we had sex. We had so much fun together.”

The sound of a pair of legs dropped on the ground. The sound of a cry came out of her mouth. And the eyes of Ella’s dropped down tears. There were no words that could describe how she feels right now. She felt betrayed, so much, that she couldn’t stand this sensation.

“Ella!” Chun moved forward to her. He tried to touch her but she swept away immediately. “Don’t come near me.” But he didn’t want to care. He knew she wouldn’t take this pain, not when she found out he was doing something behind her back when they were still dating. “Don’t touch me!!!” She used all her strength just by pushing him away from her. “We’re no longer couple! We’re not related to one another anymore! So don’t touch me with your filthy hands!” She screamed madly and ran out of the scene, crying bitterly with her tears dropping down for eternity.

“ELLA!”

But he could no longer see her in his sight.

-

“Ella?” Mike called her name outside her room, knocking her door for the 5th time. But there was still no answer. “I’m just telling you that aunty won’t be back for tonight as she’s going to stay overnight at one of her friends’ house. I’ll be preparing dinner for tonight so is this alright to you?” There’s no replying from her again. “Ella, are you alright? Are you sleeping?” This time, Mike couldn’t stand the quietness any longer. He creaked opened the door and peek inside.

And there, he saw a Ella sitting on her bed while wrapping her body with her hands and her head down to her legs. “Ella? What’s wrong?” With no hesitation, he sat on the bed and gently patted her. He saw her lifting her head and he noticed her face was red. Her eyes were swollen and she was definitely crying. “What’s wrong? What happened? Why are you crying?” But other than her crying expression, she has also got an expression that couldn’t careless about anything else anymore. It was as if she was no longer who she was. “Mike, can you get a cup of water for me? I’m thirsty.”

Mike nodded and quickly got it for her.

“So… mind telling me what happened?”

“This feels so much worse than the break up…” She said softly as if she was calm. But she wasn’t because her hands were shaking. “It feels so hurt…” The tone of her voice started shaking as she cried again. “So hurt… I felt betrayed…” Mike felt saddened for her and somehow he was really mad… mad at the one who somehow hurt her like this. To be frank, Mike has the feelings for this girl even though they have just met not long ago. There was no way he could ever forgive someone who hurt her. “Is that the one who called Chun who hurt you again?”

But she didn’t reply. All she ever did was cry, cry and endless cries. She couldn’t think of anything to stop the pain. And Mike didn’t ask her again because this isn’t the time to ask her something that would only hurt her more. She was already hurt enough.

The feeling of being betrayed behind her back is not something that is easy to ease. This was very unexpected as she had no idea Chun was doing things behind her back while dating. She was betrayed from the start before they broke up. It was if this was going all along with the plan that Chun had devised. He loved her? All the words he had said at the rooftop were all lies right? Definitely lies because there was no way it can be true when he had did something like this. He just felt guilty of deceiving her that’s why he pitied on her. She could no longer believe him anymore. There was no way she will ever believe him again, not to mention about forgiving him.

Author's Note:

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I'm a bad author. Update one chapter in almost one year. I should rather just die right? Lol. But anyway, hope you guys enjoy reading this update. But I don't think there are still readers right? Haha. I've already planned everything about this story so I'll definitely be able to complete this story. But it might take me a long time if I continue to stick with this laziness inside me. -_-"
