Raymond accompanied Charlene back to the dark mansion.

When the door of the mansion was opened, inside was blazing with light.

There was candles everywhere; on the wall and tables.

Charlene turned around to ask Raymond what is all this about, but he already disappeared.

Slowly, she made her way into this large room with an elegant table that had a few candleholders with candles in them.

Her finger ran along the edge of the table and felt a small amount of dust on her fingers.

"Charlene . . ." Out of nowhere, Edison appears behind Charlene, and he wraps his arms around her tiny waist. "Don't ever run away from me again, I don't want to lose you for another time." He whispered softly into her right ear.

Charlene gasped at the closeness of them and she turned around to face Edison.

That was when Edison placed his lips on her rosy, pink lips.

They kissed until they need to breathe, well, Charlene needed to.

She looked into Edison's mesmerizing eyes and couldn't help but blushed.

Charlene was about to say something, but Edison put his pale index finger onto her lips.

"Shhh, don't talk. Go get some rest," he soothed Charlene.

Her eyelids started to feel heavy, and soon she was in a peaceful slumber.

--

The rays of the sunlight escaped through the window's blinds and landed onto Charlene's bedroom.

In the room, Charlene is sound-asleep. Soon after, she starts to shuffle around in her bed.

She wakes up in a startle, and did not seem to recognize where she is.

It took her a few moments to sink in the familiar laptop on the desk and the room full of books.

She was in her own room, in her own house.

The memories of Edison flowed back to her, the secret, the book, and the kiss . . .

"Why am I here?" Charlene questioned out loud, "The last thing I remembered before sleeping was when I was with Edison. . .”

She then saw a lump on the bed that was near her feet as she sat up.

Immediately, she gasped when she saw the cover; it was the book, "The Twilight Love."

Charlene flipped open the book and saw that everything was filled up.

Everything in the book was Edison's thoughts and the things they both did together.

The last page of the whole book was a letter to Charlene:

I know I lied to you. I promised I will never leave you again.
But I could not keep that promise.
Again, I hurt you.
I am sorry for this, but we never can be together.
The reason my father let me search for you was because we had an agreement.
The deal was when I find you, I will have to go back to my father and agree to the marriage that he arranged for me.
He said unless I turn you into a vampire, I do not need to marry Gillian.
But he knows I will never harm you in any ways, so he got me there.
I was thinking about turning you into a vampire, but I couldn't do it.
I just can not do that to you and make you suffer the same pain as of fifty years ago.
Remember, I will always love you, Charlene.
I will always be by your side, but you won't see me.
Breathe in the air around you; I am here, protecting you.
Just forget me and go on with your life, but I won't forget you. . .

Love,
Edison . . .

After reading this, droplets of tears landed on the delicate paper that the letter was written on.

Charlene thought this would be the end of it . . . but she never knows if it is the end or not . . .
