"I'm so glad you could make it," Mr.Wu said to Tavia's father. "As you know, there's an important announcement tonight." He smiled and lowered his voice to a near whisper. "Our little girl's getting engaged to the Wong's son." Wrapping an arm around his wife's waist, he beamed with pride.
Looking around the crowd, Tavia rolled her eyes in the process. Oh yes, their little girl; rich spoiled princess and brat all decked out in Vera Wang dress: eight million dollars worth of accessories and a few grand Dior clutch not included, she thought. Oh, my daddy is the boss of a big company and I get to have a pony and whatever I want. Probably marrying some ass who would cheat on her and and just satisfy her by giving her money. This was going to be a longgg night. Grabbing a glass of red wine from a caterer passing by, Tavia took a big sip from it. A couple more of these and the whole thing will be done in a flash. Smacking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, she made a face at the aftertaste of the wine. Seeing that nobody took notice of her, she threw the glass with its remnants into a nearby bush, not knowing that the wine had cost $3000 a bottle.
After a good hour of trying the assortment of appetizers, Tavia found herself trying to spot who had the fake brand name handbags. Bored out of her mind, she decided to find something entertaining to do until actual food (which meant not the gooey caviar) was served she decided to go wander indoors. She figured they must have a tv in the livingroom or magazines, something to keep her busy. Not paying attention, she walked right into someone when she turned around.
Regaining her balance quickly, in order to not create a horribly embaressing scene, Tavia pretended nothing had happened. She darted her eyes to see what rich snob had deliberately rammed into her only to find a girl around her age staring back at her. Unsure if the girl was giving her a dirty look or not, Tavia contemplated whether not to yell at her. Sure, she would be making a scene but it was a different one. Tavia smirked; it would be hilarious like in a movie. She'd go and scream at her and shove the walking Gucci girl into the pool. Then, laugh when the ditz sobbed about having her expensive outfit and newly Japanese straightened hair ruined. Visualization in head, Tavia suppressed herself from laughing. "Watch where you're going!" After warning her, she did The Walk into the house, praying that she would make a smooth exit and not trip and fall or hit the door.

Watching as the girl strutted off in confidence, Nancy frowned since she hadn't even received an apology for the accident; the girl had come out of nowhere and ran smack into her. Afterwards, she had acted like it was HER fault. Nancy wondered who the girl was since she had not seen her before. Whoever she was, she gave Nancy a bad feeling. Figuring it was because she was a bit upset over the incident and the girl's attitude, she made nothing of it. Heading towards her parents, she was introduced to one of her father's employee's, Mr.Yeung. She was congratulated by the worker and his wife for her engagement to Bosco. A bit suprised that they knew about the big news, her parents explained that they had told them. She nodded understanding; a tiny smile appeared on her face at the mention of the event.

Not being able to find a television in sight in the livingroom and finding it a bit rude to go poking around someone else's house, Tavia glimpsed out the window at the pretty decorations. She decided to take in the beautiful view. Despite the fact that it was because the Ngs had probably hired an interior designer to spruce up the place, throwing money around like that when they could have just celebrated in a restauraunt, Tavia felt it was appropriate to give it acknowledgment. Afterall, it wasn't everyday she was able to be one of those girls who went to the ritziest parties in town; it might be a once in a lifetime thing.
Continuing to look out the window, a shady individual caught her eye. The man in a black tux like the rest of the male population was acting rather suspiciously. He looked around, as if afraid being discovered and snuck off. Curious, Tavia decided to see what he was up to. She watched as he disappeared out of view as he rounded the corner of the house.
Rushing towards the other side of the house, Tavia peered out the window to see that the guy had gone to the front entrance. He was peeping into the windows of the cars which were parked up front as if searching for something. Tavia wondered if she should probably tell security of the suspicious character...but was there even security? Before getting a chance to decide, she saw the questionable individual slip into one of the vehicles. Staring at the car for a moment as its headlights turned on, she wondered why the car looked so familiar. Toyota. Black. License plate KY4432. THAT WAS HER PARENT'S CAR!
Flying across the livingroom and out the frontdoor, she ran towards the car. Her mind was on trying to get the sedan back and not on her safety. She figured that there were probably a hundred guests in the back. Anyone would be afraid of a mob of people ran towards him...even if it's a group of elite "afraid-to-get-their-designers-dirty's." Besides, there would be security. For a brief moment, Tavia reminded herself that she didn't even know if there was bodyguards or anything. Reaching the Toyota, she banged on the window of the passenger's side just as the car began to drive off.
"Open the door! Hey!" she screamed. Pulling at the handle, she was suprised when the door popped open. What kind of theif would be stupid enough to not lock the doors? Maybe one who wasn't expecting to be caught. Without another thought, she quickly jumped inside the traveling vehicle. Not only after closing the door behind her did she realize that the robber could be armed. She began to panic and became uneasy. Deciding to get back out while the car was moving at a slow rate, she decided to at least get a glimpse of the criminal so she could at least ID him later on to the police. She gasped when she realized who it was.
"Bosco!?" she said in disbelief. Great. Not only was her car being stolen for no apparent reason by a gang member, she was also being kidnapped; not by some ruthless triad leader but by her own classmate. She laughed in skepticism of what was occuring. "Ohh no! This is SO not happening. YOU are NOT stealing my car and..." She spotted a stain on her dress. It must have been from the girl who walked into her earlier. She scoffed. "This is NOT happening, NOTTT happening," she repeatead, as if it would bring her back into 'reality.' "Damnit!" She ruffled her dress and kicked out of natural reaction to her anger. Forgetting she was wearing opentoe shoes, she hit her toe against the interior of the car. "Owwww!" She yelled in pain. Seeing Bosco look at her out of the corner of his eye and smirk, Tavia glared at him. "Wait a minute! WHY do you have to steal the crappy Toyota when there's like a million Benzs there to take? And WHERE are we going?!" She stopped her mini-interrogation when she was thrown to her right, hitting the side of the car. "Do you even know how to drive?!" She demanded as she watched him swerve from left to right.
"No."
"What?! You're going to get us killed!" shrieked Tavia. "This is crazy! Let me out!"
"Fine, go ahead."
Seeing the scenery fly by, Tavia looked at the speedometer to see that Bosco was going way too fast for a person who didn't know how to drive. Figuring she had more of a chance of surviving the speeding vehicle than jumping out of it at seventy miles per hour, she gripped onto the sides of the car for support. She sighed, it was the end of Tavia Yeung; "Girl Dies in Stolen Vehicle Car Crash," or she was going to be brought back to the boss and be turned into a "dancer." It WAS going to be a longgg night.
