After dinner this one night, Myolie and Bosco walked pass a shop. Myolie stopped and stared at the lease sign.
“Tempting, isn’t it? Have you put more thought into opening up your own business?”
“I’d be lying if I said no. Being unemployed over the past few months, I’ve had too much time on hand and this is one of the many things I thought about.” Myolie answered truthfully.
“You’re a talented fashion designer. I have total confidence that you’ll be able to find a job in the fashion industry. But I think you’ll be much happier with your own boutique.”
Myolie nodded, “I’ve been putting a lot of thought into it and I think you’re right. I believe this is what I want. All those years at L.C., I felt restricted in my designs. I think this is my chance to finally try something new.”
With the help and encouragement of Bosco, Myolie rented the space. While everything in the store was being fixed, painted and installed, Myolie was busy designing and meeting with contractors to have her designs produced.

“I’m thinking for our spring line we’ll need a bit more active wear. Something more sporty…What do you think Raymond?” Kevin asked. “Raymond?” Kevin called out. Again, there was no response. “Alright, let’s take a 15 minute break. Meet back here with fresh ideas.” The staff dispersed out of the conference room.
“What’s wrong Raymond?” Leila asked. “This isn’t like you at all. I remember you used to always have great ideas and inputs at our meetings.”
“Myolie’s gone…” Raymond said
“Raymond, Myolie wouldn’t want to see you like this. Come on, don’t you remember Myolie used to love your talents.” Leila reminded. “You two worked so well with each other. L.C. is your dream and her dream. Don’t let it fall.” Leila pleaded hopefully.

Raymond spaced out in his office. He didn’t even take notice to Kevin entering. “Raymond maybe you need a vacation.” Kevin suggested. “I know thing have been stressful for you lately.
Raymond nodded but remained in a dazed state, almost as if he were under some type of hypnotic spell. “Yeah, sure that sounds good…”

Being on vacation to Raymond, meant going to get drunk every night. He sat at the bar with half a dozen empty beer bottles in front of him.
“Raymond? What are you doing here? I just got back and heard the news about you and Myolie not getting married? And Myolie resigned from L.C.? My assistant told me that Myolie’s opening her own boutique? What’s this all about?” Nick questioned.
“Myolie’s opening her own store?” Where?” Raymond asked anxiously. He’d been longing for any possible news about Myolie for months. Nick told Raymond all he knew and Raymond, in return, told Nick what had happened between the two.
“Man, I can’t believe all this has happened. I originally returned with happy news for the two of you.”
“What happy news might that be?”
“Myolie’s design made it to the semi-finals. I think she has a good chance of winning.”
Raymond smiled brightly, “I know she will.” He said proudly.

After hearing about Myolie, Raymond finally decided it was time he cleaned up and immersed himself into work again. Natalie knocked on Raymond’s office door, “Mr. Lam, Mr. Cheng.”
“What is it Natalie?” Raymond asked with a smile; something he hasn’t done in a long time since Myolie broke up with him.
“There’s a letter addressed to Ms. Wu that was sent here. I wanted to know what you wanted me to do with it.”
Kevin knitted his brows together. “Why is her mail still coming here?” he questioned angrily.
Raymond snatched the envelope from Natalie’s hand before Kevin could take any action. “I knew she could do it.” Raymond smiled excitedly and ran out of the room.

“Could it be possible to add some lighting around here?” Myolie asked. The man holding the blueprints nodded, made some notes, and walked off to give instructions to his workers.
“Yee.” Myolie turned to the familiar voice. This was their first actual encounter since their break-up. It had been almost 7 months. Myolie tried to make herself look busy. She rearranged the shirts that were on the mannequins. “It looks really nice here.” Raymond complimented.
“Thanks” she replied awkwardly. Myolie knew that one day eventually, she’d have to see him.
“How have you been?” Raymond asked trying to start conversation.
“About the same, I’ve been busy starting this place up.”
Raymond pulled the envelope out. “This was sent to L.C., It’s addressed to you.”
Myolie accepted the envelope and noticed where it was from. She hesitantly pulled the letter out and scanned the content. “My design won!” She excitedly threw her arms around Raymond’s neck. She had always dreamed of sharing a special moment like this with Raymond. At least that was when they were still together.
Bosco who had just turned the corner, saw the scene. He quickly took a step back, hiding himself. He sadly walked away. ‘I should feel happy for Myolie. I know she loves him and it is only natural for them to get back together. I should have guessed.’
Myolie realized what she was doing and let go.
Raymond smiled brightly, “I knew it Yee. I knew you could do it.”
“Thanks.” Myolie whispered.
“It’s your hard work and talent that won you the award. It has nothing to do with me.”
“No, it does. You were the one who gave me confidence in myself. You entered me in this competition. I have to say thank you to you.”
“Yee, is there any chance for us to be together again?” Raymond asked carrying a small hint of hope. “I know you hate me right now, and you have every right to. I shouldn’t have lied to you…”
“Love and hate are such strong words. I don’t even know where to draw the line between the two. Let’s just say that the wound has healed, but the scar will always remain.”
“I want you that I’ll wait for you and I’ll always love you.”
“Raymond, it’s no use. Even after time a scar may fade, but it won’t disappear permanently. Seeing you is like a reminder.”
“Yee, please…”
“Raymond, don’t’ be like this. We still have a chance of being friends.”
“Really, you’re willing to still be my friend?”
“I said earlier, love and hate are just a fine line away from each other. At this moment, I feel neither towards you though. Thanks for bringing the letter to me.”
“No problem.” Raymond replied. He left with mixed feels of both happiness and sadness.
