Raymond shook his head, “No, what’s wrong?” He asked back in a very worried manner. He had an unease feeling that something had happen.
“We were supposed to have dinner together, but she never showed up.” Bosco replied.
“Did you try calling her?” Raymond questioned.
“I’ve tried calling her cell phone and her home phone. I even went to Sum Yee and her apartment, but she was no where to be found. I thought you might know, so I came over.”
“I just got back from Shanghai last night, but I haven’t spoken to Myolie for days.”
“What should we do? You don’t think she’s gotten in some type of accident do you?”
Raymond tried to remain calm, though he was wondering the same thing. “Why don’t we split up and drive around to look for her.” Raymond suggested. Bosco nodded in agreement of the plan.
After searching for hours, Raymond and Bosco went back to Raymond’s house. “Where could she have gone off to? It’s unlike Myolie to go somewhere without letting someone know.” Suddenly, Raymond’s phone rang, “Hello” he answered.
“Notice something important missing?” Raymond could hear muffled screaming in the background.”
“Yee?” Who are you and what do you want?” Raymond questioned.
“Raymond, I’m hurt. How can you not even recognize my voice? It’s only been a few months since we last spoke.”
“Kevin? Where have you taken Myolie to?” Raymond’s heart raced with all the possibilities of what Kevin might do with Myolie.
“Are you heartbroken? We’ll that’s exactly what I want to see. I will make you lose once and for all.”
“If you hate me, then do whatever you want with me, but don’t hurt Myolie.”
Kevin laughed mockingly, “Raymond, I’ll give you a riddle. If you are smart enough then perhaps you’ll be able to find where I have hidden your precious treasure. Abandoned is what you have done to me. I shall now keep the one you love locked up forever. She will not see the light of tomorrow for darkness will be cast over her for eternity.”
The line went dead, “Kevin!” Raymond screamed into the phone, “Kevin!”
“He has her? He kidnapped Myolie? What does he want with her?”
“Don’t worry, Kevin wouldn’t hurt Myolie.”
“Well, what did he say? Where are they? When will he return Myolie?”
“He didn’t say, he only gave me a riddle. Abandoned is what you have done to me, I shall now keep the one you love locked up forever. She will not see the light of tomorrow for darkness will be cast over her for eternity.”
Both men tried hard to understand the clues they were given. Bosco sat on the sofa and repeated the riddle several times to himself, while Raymond paced around the room trying to think of possible places as well.
Bosco stood up abruptly, “I think I know where they are. I think he’s talking about the abandoned warehouse where they used to manufacture coffins. He’s planning to bury Myolie alive.”
“Kevin wouldn’t do that.” Raymond refused to believe that his best fiend would take things to such extremities. But now was not the time to debate whether of not Kevin had done it, instead they had to find Myolie. They jumped into Raymond’s car and headed towards the abandoned warehouse.

After a 20 minute drive they finally arrived. Rushing in they found Myolie tied up to a chair.
“Myolie!” Both men shouted and rushed forward wanting to untie her and set her free. However, they stopped in their tracks as Kevin appeared behind Myolie with a gun aimed at the two of them.
“You finally made it Raymond.”
“Kevin, whatever you do, just don’t hurt Myolie” Raymond pleaded.
“That’s all you care about isn’t it? Why is it always Myolie this Myolie that? Why is it always about her! What about me?” Kevin asked angrily.
“I don’t understand what you mean Kevin?”
Kevin snickered, “Of course you don’t. You’ve never spent the time to pay attention to me, have you? I’ve loved you all these years. Everything I’ve done has been for you, but have you even bothered to notice? No, all these years there hasn’t even been a thank you!”
Raymond was in absolute shock, “I’m sorry Kevin, I didn’t realize that I’ve neglected you and your feelings. I never meant to take you for granted. It’s just we were best friends…”
“Only a best friend…” Kevin repeated as his voice trailed off.
“Kevin, why have you turned this way? I know you’re not bad, why don’t you just let Myolie go.”
“You ask me why I’ve become this way? It’s all because of her! If she hadn’t showed up then everything would still be fine between you and me!” Kevin now directed the gun at Myolie’s head.
