?We?re here miss? The taxi driver informed.
?This is really where I live?? Myolie questioned herself. ?How much is the fare?? she asked.
?It?s $210 dollars.? The taxi driver replied. Myolie pulled out her wallet and paid him.
She got out of the car and began to walk towards the tall black gate. She pulled out the set of keys to from the plastic bag. There were about five different keys on the key ring.
?Well I guess I could just try one.? Myolie thought seeing that she was unable to remember exactly which one was the correct one. She tried four of the key and none of them worked. Myolie was beginning to doubt whether this was actually her house. She took a deep breath and tried the last key. Turning the key she heard a click and the gate opened; Myolie was actually quite surprise.
Entering the house she didn?t need to turn on the lights seeing how light was shining through the large window.
Just one step into the house brought back a sense of familiarity. She still couldn?t believe that she lived here. The place was huge.
?Do I live here alone?? Myolie wondered. ?What could possibly be my occupation? How on Earth can I afford a place like this?? Question after question ran through her mind.
She dropped her bag by the door and headed into the living room.
She could hear laughter in the room.
?Chase me ah!? She giggled as she ran around the couch.
?I?m going to get you!? A male voice was heard. It was that same voice.
Myolie frowned. ?How come I can only remember his voice? Who exactly is he?? She walked over to the coffee table where she found a large pile of pictures. All had been ripped in half. The other half had been burned to ashes.
?Did I do this? But why?? she didn?t understand what could have caused her to take such action.
She shook her head and headed up the stairs. She hoped to find more clues about herself.
She opened the first door she came across. She could tell this room was the master suite. She walked over to the large king size bed. It had an elegant champagne colored comforter made of high quality material. She ran her hand over it, ?Wah, so soft.? She whispered.
She made her way to the bathroom. Everything was gleaming in there. There was matching towels and rugs. She noticed everything was in a set of two. ?I wonder why??
Myolie walked back out into the bedroom. Across one wall was a closet; actually more like a series of closets. She walked over to the far end near the window and opened the first sets of double doors. Then walking down the line she opened the next set of doors, and the next, until she had opened all six sets of doors. Myolie took a set back to get a better look. She was amazed by the sight in front of her. Was it really possible that she owned all this? She looked at how all the clothes were organized; from active wear to casual ware, business suits to formal evening gowns. Pants, skirts, dresses, t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, you name it. She looked at the multiple jackets and coat suitable for all weather. Underneath that was a series of drawers. Opening the first one she found filled with sunglass, the next with scarves, the next one is filled with hats. On top of the drawers were purses. In the fifth section of the closet, countless pairs of shoes lined the shelves. They were of every color, every shade, and every style. Although she didn?t know much about herself she was able to conclude for a fact that she was perhaps quite rich and sure had a sense of taste in clothes.
She finally looked in the last section which was filled with guy clothes, mainly suits and slacks. ?Does this belong to him?? ignoring her own question once again she exited out of the room.
Walking down the hall Myolie opened the next nearest door. It was the study. She walked over behind the dark cherry wood desk and sat in the large, black, leather chair. She could tell all this was custom made for her, everything was just the right height.
Unconsciously she picked up a pen and started to tap on the desk; it was one of her many bad habits.
She got up and walked over to the easel. ?Am I an artist?? Myolie tried hard to remember, but nothing came to her, ?How come I can?t remember anything?? Myolie screamed in frustration.
She decided to continue her search through the house to find more information. Just as she was about to leave, something on the small table located on her right caught her eye. It was a leather badge holder, the kind you?d wear around your neck; it had a card inside with her picture on it. Next to her picture read, L.C. Limited Corporation. Underneath that was her name, first in Chinese, then under it in English. At the bottom of the card were the three words Executive Chief Designer.
Myolie?s eyes widen as her mouth dropped open, ?Chief Designer?!?!? She held on to her employee ID badge tightly as she walked straight across the hall to another room.
She looked at everything around the room. She had to believe it, for sure, she was a fashion designer.
From the design that covered the sketching table, to the mannequins, to the fabric, the sewing machine, scissors, and many more tools; everything needed was there.
?L.C. Limited? If I want to find out more about myself, this must be the place to start.?
Quickly she went back into her bedroom to change out of the baggy clothes. Randomly she chose a pair of faded jeans and a green polo shirt.
After she changed she walked over to the makeup table to brush her hair. On the table she noticed many different jewelry boxes of all shapes and sizes. They were so pretty and her curiosity decided to make her open them.
The contents were blinding, all the gems and jewels, the diamonds and gold. But out of all the boxes, the one that she liked the most was the one in the shape of a pyramid. It had five separate drawers. Myolie decided to start from the bottom. Inside laid five watches. They looked so expensive and nicely designed. The fourth contained four watches, the designs were even more unique. She made her way up to the top draw which held a single watch. She carefully picked it up and placed it around her wrist. It wasn?t as expensive as the other ones, but she could sense there was something special about this watch.
She put on a light jacket and made her way downstairs with the ID still in her hand. She put her wallet and the set of keys in her pocket and was out the door. She hailed a taxi and asked to be taken to L.C. Limited.
She stepped into the lobby and could immediately feel the people around her pointing and whispering, at her.
?I?m just being paranoid, why would they be talking about me.?
She walked over to the directory to find out which level she should go to.
?L.C. Limited? It must one large company? They were occupying more than half the space of the fifty story building. She ran her finger down the list, ?Marking department, advertising department?? the list continued, ?where should I go?? Finally, she was sure she?d found it. ?Design department. Level 13.?
Myolie headed towards the elevator and went up to the 13th floor. She watched as the number increased. It read 12, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. ?This is going to be it.?
The elevator doors slid open and she got out. Immediately she walked up to the front desk. The girl who was standing behind the reception counter acknowledged her presence and quickly ended her conversation over the phone.
?Ms. Wu? she greeted her.
Myolie couldn?t help but noticed how scared she looked.
?Ms. Wu, would you like me to go inform Mr. Lam that you are back.? The receptionist asked.
?Mr.Lam?...I?uh??
The girl walk out from behind the counter and started to walk into the office space. Myolie followed her. She was now standing in the center of the office. All the workers had stopped and turned their attention towards her. Many of them were leaning in and whispering to each other. A few of them even pointed at her. It made her feel quite uncomfortable.
?Hey, what?s going on?? Cerina asked Claire who was standing at the back of the room. ?How come everyone?s just standing around??
Claire pressed her finger against her lips, ?Shhh?Ms. Wu?s back.? Claire whispered.
?Ms. Wu??
?It?s hard to blame you for not knowing. She wasn?t here when you were hired. She?s the chief designer here.?
?Wow, that must be cool.?
?Cool? Well whatever you do, just make sure you don?t get on her bad side.?
?How come??
?Ms. Wu is a very ?sui hay? (stingy) and ?gay sou? (holds a grudge) person. She thinks she?s all that because she has the boss?s support.?
?Huh??
?She?s the boss?s girlfriend.? Claire explained.
?Wait, are you talking about Mr. Lam or Mr. Cheng?? Cerina asked for clarification.

LOL, so I still haven?t released who Myolie?s boyfriend is?is it Mr. Lam or Mr. Cheng?
So do you guys like how I?ve made the company name to be L.C. Limited?it?s a playoff of Hong Kong brand name LV. But in my story it stands for Lam and Cheng. I had originally wanted to make it L.W. because it would be closer to LV, but I didn?t think Deric Wan would have seem very convincing as the role Kevin is playing?
Oh, and sorry if I bored any of you with the details of Myolie?s house and all, I just wanted you guys to get a look at her lifestyle, perhaps how rich she is, and slowly leading up to her occupation?
Well I?ll try to update again soon, I?m actually working on the next chapter already, but also have to work on ?Always? as well. I?d suggest checking back maybe later tonight or perhaps sometime tomorrow?
Much love,
Kiki
