"I'm Hyori. Well, I think everyone here knows me," she said and smirked. She stared only at TOP who avoided her mesmerizing eyes. Rain nodded and clapped his hands.
"Well, let's get to work. And as you can see, there's five guys and only two girls...well Taeyang doesn't need a partner. He'll just sing," Rain said jokingly and Taeyang threw his hat at him. Rain laughed and threw it back. "Okay, well Hyori could be a partner, too. That leaves us with two more girls. Well, there's always the back-ups so that's not a problem anymore. Why don't we get started. Hyori, remember the moves?"
Hyori nodded as she took Rain's hands. "First of all, we'll start with a slow partner dance. Taeyang, can you give us an acapella of your song?"
Taeyang nodded and stood up. He took a deep breath and started to sing. Sunye and Yoobin stared at him, his voice captured them. They didn't expect Taeyang to have such a voice, so manly yet dreamy. This song was played a few times in the radio, but they had no idea it was Taeyang's song. They looked back at the front to see Hyori and Rain slowly dancing. With Taeyang's sweet angelic voice, their smooth and graceful dancing matched perfectly. It was unbelievable.
Even though Hyori could act like a real...bad girl sometimes, there was no doubt her dancing skills were very superior. If only she could control her jealousy and anger.
Taeyang stopped singing as soon as Hyori and Rain released their hands.
"So, that's how the dance will go, got it?" Rain asked and laughed at the stares that he received. "It's okay, it'll work out. Why don't we start? Uh...let's put you in partners..."
He slowly walked around them as he thought of who should go with who. He stared at Dae Sung who was flashing him his d-liteful smile but Rain shook his head as he passed him. He did the same when he passed Seung Ri. As soon as he was in front of Yoobin, he took a step back. He looked at Jiyong, TOP, and Taeyang and looked back at Yoobin, trying to find the right partner for her.
"Ah, I think either TOP or Taeyang would look good as your partner," Rain said to Yoobin who immediately looked at him. She didn't want TOP as her partner, but Taeyang would enjoy the moment too much.
"Rain-hyung, I think I'm the perfect guy for Yoobin, right Yoobin?" He said and turned to wink at her, which made her hair stand up. TOP rolled his eyes and said, "Taeyang can go with her."
Rain smiled and announced, "Okay, Yoobin can go with TOP. It's important to work with others at times."
He grabbed Yoobin's hand and TOP's and placed them right beside each other. Hyori crossed her arms across her chest and looked away, trying to hide her jealousy.
"Taeyang...you could go with Sunye. All that's left is Jiyong, Seung Ri and Dae Sung," Rain said as he rubbed his chin. It was his habit. "Okay, well I'll get the other three girls for you. You stay here and relax, kay?"
Rain quickly ran out of the room and everyone sighed. They felt pressured whenever he was around. TOP and Yoobin went the opposite ways and their best friends joined them.
"Yoobin, are you okay?" Sunye said worriedly as she looked at Yoobin's pale face.
"I'm okay, just disappointed at my partner. I think it would have been better if Taeyang was my partner," she said and looked back at him just in time to miss Sunye's sad face. Sunye didn't honestly want Yoobin and Taeyang to be together, but if Yoobin liked him, there was nothing she can do.
Right as Yoobin faced to look at Taeyang, he ran towards her with a huge smile. "Yoobin, TOP said we could switch partners! Don't you want to be my partner?"
Yoobin looked over Taeyang's shoulder to see TOP slowly walking towards them. "He's right, there's no need for you to be my partner. I can go with Sunye."
Yoobin was about to suggest something else when Hyori joined them.
"You can't switch partners. Why, is there something wrong with being partners with TOP, Yoobin?" Hyori asked slyly. "Or is it because you've already kissed Taeyang and found him a better kisser?"
"Aish, Hyori, what's wrong with you?" Yoobin shouted and was about to slap her when TOP stopped her. He held her wrists tightly and glared at her.
"Stop this. Hyori, do you need to make a big deal out of it? Maybe Yoobin and I don't get along," TOP said and Hyori rolled her eyes.
"TOP, sometimes I can't tell why you even bother," she said and looked at TOP's sad eyes. It almost hurt her seeing it, but she ignored it. "I'm seeing someone else now."
When she said this, she walked away and TOP's eyes followed the back of her figure, hurting himself more. Taeyang put his hand on TOP's shoulder and said, "TOP, forget about her. Move on."
TOP smiled at Taeyang and nodded. "Maybe you should introduce me to some of your girls," he said jokingly and fake punched him.
Rain walked in with three random girls behind him. "Okay, Jiyong, Seung Ri and Dae Sung, pick your partners here. And you four over there, get over here. Hyori, let's teach them the first few steps."
Hyori nodded and the lesson began once everyone was settled. Taeyang was partners with Yoobin and TOP was with Sunye. Although no one but Taeyang was happy, they were satisfied.
The class ended quickly and it was time to go home. The two girls said goodbye to the boys and left without another word. As Yoobin and Sunye rode the bus, they talked about Hyori and TOP.
"Yoobin, don't you just feel sorry for TOP? I mean he actually looked hurt because of Hyori. You know I thought she was a good person, but I guess I was wrong," Sunye said as they sat down close to the front of the bus.
Yoobin shook her head to disagree. "I feel sorry for Hyori! I mean yeah, she might be acting a bit... unfriendly but wouldn't that be normal to act towards a girl who was kissed by your boyfriend?"
Sunye nodded, imagining that Taeyang was her boyfriend and had kissed another girl. "I see... but still! I don't like Hyori anymore. TOP is better off with someone else. Someone like... you maybe."
"HA! As if. Perhaps if he was nicer! And obviously he cannot rap," she said and Sunye had to cut her off before she could say anything.
"You don't know that! Anyways, we made a promise that if he could rap, you should try to see the better side of him and try to like him!" Sunye almost shouted in the bus when she lowered her voice. "You promised! Come on, I feel bad for him that Hyori is his ex-girlfriend. He needs to forget her."
Yoobin rolled her eyes. "I don't know when I made that promise but sure. That's only if he could rap, and if I could see a better side."
Sunye nodded happily and stuck out her pinky. Yoobin gave her a weird look and asked, "What are you doing?"
"It's a promise, right?" Sunye answered. She stared intensely at Yoobin who finally gave up. Yoobin took her pinky and hooked it with Sunye's very quickly. Sunye clapped her hands and said, "Yes! TOP, here's your match!"
"Whatever."

"That's a wrap! Everyone did a great job today! So that was the last lesson of the dance. Your VP said that starting tomorrow, you will be recording your song together," Rain said after drinking some water. "Well, I guess it's goodbye now! We'll see each other after your recording."
Everyone bowed to one another and the back up dancers started to leave. Taeyang sat right beside Yoobin and nudged her.
"Yoobin...so how about that date you promised?" Taeyang asked while Yoobin packed her bag.
"What are you talking about? I didn't promise you anything," Yoobin replied as she picked up her bag and stood up. Taeyang stood up with her and stopped her before continuing to walk towards Sunye.
"Yah, didn't you say that if everything goes well, we'll go on a date?" Taeyang asked and Yoobin laughed.
"Yeah, but everything didn't go well, yet. You're so impatient, why don't you go with other girls first?" Yoobin asked. Taeyang followed her as she walked towards Sunye by the mirrors.
"Look Yoobin, I didn't go out with any girls since I've met you. Well actually, a few, but still! I didn't meet with 75% of the girls I usually go out with," Taeyang said proudly. TOP walked towards them with an angry look.
"Taeyang, stop flirting, and start walking. Let's go, you know how angry your dad will get, right?" TOP reminded him. Taeyang was the singer for his dad's family party and if he was late, he'd get a huge lecture and others. Taeyang nodded saying, "yeah, yeah" as he walked. He winked and waved at Yoobin before saying goodbye.
"Yoobin...is Taeyang really serious about you?" Sunye asked. Yoobin shrugged because she didn't know and she didn't care. "How about you? What do you feel for him?"
Yoobin started to laugh after what Sunye had said. "Are you kidding me, Sunye? Do I feel anything for Taeyang? The answer is no, I don't. He's a player."
"Oh, so if he wasn't, would you give him a chance?"
"Hmm...maybe, his chances are definitely better than TOP's."
"TOP?" Hyori asked and started to walk towards them. She was about to leave when she overheard TOP's name being said. "Yoobin, you like TOP?"
"It's none of your business," Sunye snapped and Hyori rolled her eyes.
"Was I talking to you, pest?" Hyori retorted and looked back at Yoobin. Yoobin didn't want to have to argue with Hyori. Whatever she might say could hurt her, and she already felt bad for Hyori.
"Hyori, I don't like TOP, okay? Now please. We have to go," she said and started to walk. Sunye stuck her tongue out at Hyori and caught up with Yoobin.
Hyori stood there quietly while everyone started to leave. Rain walked towards her and put his arms around her.
"Yah, Hyori, didn't you say you'd go out with me?" Rain asked and Hyori spun around and put her hands on his face.
"Rain...not yet. I have to make sure to get the timing perfect. I can't allow them to..." she said stiffly and relaxed again. She smiled at Rain and softly caressed his cheeks. "Be patient, Rain. It's almost time."
She pecked him at the cheek and walked away. That didn't sound too good.

"Wake up! Sunye!" Yoobin said as she shook Sunye's body under the thick blanket. She kept shaking her but Sunye acted as if there was nothing happening. "Yah, Sunye, I came all the way here like you said, and you're not even awake? We're recording today!"
"One more hour..." Sunye said and rolled on to the other side. She put a pillow over her head and went back to sleep.
"Aish! Yah, don't you know that it's our important day! We're going to record with B4B!" Yoobin said and crossed her arms. "What am I going to do with you?"
"Taeyang's not going to be there!" Sunye said under the pillow but Yoobin couldn't understand her.
"What are you saying?"
"Aish, you're so noisy." Sunye sat up, her hair all tangled and messy. Her neck was tilted to one side and her eyes half closed. She rubbed her eyes and stretched as she yawned. Just when Yoobin thought she was going to get up, Sunye fell back on to the bed with her eyes closed.
"YAH!" Yoobin shouted and threw a pillow at Sunye's face.
"That hurts!" Sunye said and was about to get another pillow thrown at her when she raised her hands. "Okay, I got it. I'll get ready."
"Hurry up! We don't have a lot of time left," Yoobin said and left the room so that Sunye could get dressed.
Sunye came out twenty minutes later fully dressed, almost as if she was going on a date.
"What's the special occasion?" Yoobin asked and Sunye rolled her eyes and started to walk down the street. "You took so long. We need to run."
"Yah, are you kidding me? I'm wearing high heels here, and no way am I going to even try to catch up to you!" Sunye said but Yoobin already started to run in her old Nike sneakers.
"Come on, Sunye. Their only half-inch heels to me. Let's go!" Yoobin said excitedly. She ran towards the bus stop and it wasn't until a few minutes later that Sunye caught up.
"Uwah~ it's so sunny, today. Just like us!" Yoobin said enthusiastically. It looked like she was all hyped up to record, meanwhile Sunye was still sleepy and disappointed that Taeyang won't be there.
They reached the recording studio just in time and fortunately didn't get lost.
"Hello there, I'm your producer, Junsu," a man said and shook their hands. "Well, get inside B4B is waiting for you."
"Uh, wait, we didn't even learn --" Yoobin started when Junsu pushed both of them inside the recording room, getting stared awkwardly by the other four boys.
"Hi guys," Sunye said and nudged Yoobin. "What are we recording? We didn't even talk about it!"
"I don't know!" Yoobin whispered back and smiled at the four guys. "So...what are we doing?"
"Isn't it obvious, we're recording," TOP said sarcastically.
"Looks like someone woke up in a bad mood," muttered Yoobin and TOP immediately glared at her. She looked away and pretended not to see him. Jiyong finally stepped up and looked at the two girls and started to explain what was going on.
"What?! We're going to improvise?" Yoobin shouted. Her good spirit was gone. She thought she would finally be able to record the song that Sunye and her worked so hard for. "But...I don't get it."
"Pabo. The producer combined our songs together, so we just have to try and make a good sound. But the only thing is, we're officially recording. We can't waste Junsu's time," TOP handed her a piece of paper. Well, he didn't actually hand it to her, it was more like a throw-it-right-at-her-face-just-so-I-can-annoy-her kind of handing. She raised her fists as he glared at him and TOP just mocked her. "Ooo, scary!"
"AISH! TOP, you are just getting on my ner--" Yoobin was about to say when the producer started speaking in the intercom.
"What's going on there?"
"What? I was just going to say...TOP was just getting on my ner...D side! Yeah, nerd side."
"Well, it doesn't matter. Just get along, this is your first collaboration and it is important. Improvisation is important in an artist's job. Okay, we're going to start in a few. I'll give you about five minutes to maybe practice or rehearse a little bit," Junsu said quickly and turned off the intercom. They saw him walk out and their tense shoulders relaxed the moment he was gone.
"He's so nerve-wracking. Seems a bit more strict than Rain," said Seung Ri and sat back at his comfy seat close to the corner.
"Shouldn't we start practicing?" Dae Sung asked and everyone nodded.
"Uh, let's see. Where should the girls go in? And which parts should we keep?" Jiyong asked as he looked at the lyrics. "Oh, how about the intro can be SUNNY and then the first chorus will be B4B singing. And then it can be switched, and then at the last chorus, we'll mix it up a bit. Since TOP and Yoobin are the main rappers, you two should come close to the end, alright?"
Everyone nodded. Sunye admired Jiyong for his leadership skills, and no doubt that he is the leader of B4B. She looked over at Yoobin who was staring at TOP all of a sudden.
"Yoobin, have you fallen in love with TOP yet?" Sunye asked and giggled but Yoobin's expression and stare didn't change. She just shook her head slowly as she eyed her "mortal enemy."
"Yah, Sunye, did you hear what Jiyong said? He said TOP is the main rapper! How can this be..." Yoobin said worriedly, wishing that she didn't make such a careless promise with Sunye. This meant that Yoobin will have to act as nice as possible for him...and what was worse was she had to see the "better" side of him and even try to like him. Yoobin shook her head. She sat right beside TOP and kept staring at him, quickly giving him the chills.
"Yah, did something go to your head?" He said but Yoobin ignored him.
"TOP, can you rap?" Yoobin asked straightforwardly and deeply hoped that TOP would say no. But he laughed his horrendous laugh and couldn't even look at Yoobin in the eye.
"DUH!" was all he said. Yoobin looked away as she slapped her palm against her forehead.
"Okay, so you guys talked about it right? I hope this will be a good improvisation practice. Do you even know why I'm making you guys do this?" Junsu said in the intercom once he came back. Everyone in the recording room shook their heads as they patiently waited for Junsu's answer. "It's because there's going to be a performance showdown! Trainees will go against one another for an improvisation contest. Whoever can make the best sound and song just by improvising has a chance to collaborate with other entertainers! Like Wonderfuls or the new singer, Seul Gi."
"Yoobin, does he mean, Seul Gi... as in the same Seul Gi we know?" Sunye asked and Yoobin replied to her quietly, "I'm not so sure either."
The producer gave a nod to some other staff in the room and music started playing. Jiyong looked at everyone and gave them a look that meant "remember what I said". SUNNY was up first, so it would begin with Sunye's voice. She took a deep breath and put on the headphones that everyone else already had. She stepped closer to the mic and a beautiful voice was released. She hit every note with a chant-like melody. Then it was Yoobin. Her low voice was perfect for rapping. It wasn't even one of those super fast raps, it was those raps with actual feeling, and everyone in the room could feel what Yoobin felt while rapping the sad words. B4B then came in at the chorus and all their talents were revealed.
Seung Ri had a light yet strong voice and Dae Sung's was undoubtedly unique and soothing. Jiyong's voice was perfect for both singing and rapping. Then came TOP. His powerful voice wrapped around Yoobin, almost trapping her in her own little world. Yoobin has never seen anyone like him before, it felt...so impossible. But it wasn't. There was TOP rapping his lyrics and as Sunye sang the chorus, all Yoobin could do was stare at him. It was finally time for Yoobin and TOP to rap together. TOP looked at her and smiled just because he felt like it, and all of a sudden, Yoobin felt like she was hit in the heart, suddenly thumping so loudly, but she was able to rap along with TOP.
