Eyes were staring at them, finding the scene touching, too much display of affection or in their friends' case, unbelievable.
"Sunye-ah... didn't you say Yoobin liked TOP?" Jiyong whispered to Sunye who was speechless beside him. She shrugged, not knowing anymore.
Whispers were passed around but Yoobin didn't care. She wanted to get out of here. She looked up at Taeyang and rubbed off some of her tears.
"Let's leave... please," she said in a hoarse voice. Even Sunye who was watching from afar was surprised to see Yoobin act like this. It was the first time and very unusual.
"Has something happened..." she wondered aloud.
Meanwhile, Taeyang nodded at Yoobin and took off his jacket to cover it over her. He put his hand on her shoulders and led her out as he pulled her closer.
TOP was replaying what Yoobin had seen in the park. Taeyang walked away with Yoobin still crying, wetting his shirt. TOP stayed where he was as he watched his best friend holding tightly on to Yoobin's shoulder, comforting her.
--- --- ---
"Yoobin-ah... what's wrong?" Taeyang asked softly as he the two sat down at a small bench at the side. Yoobin was calmer now and Taeyang was no longer holding onto her but she was still sitting pretty close to him. Yoobin was silent as she stared at the leaves slowly falling around them.
"Did something happen...? You seemed to cry non-stop." Taeyang tried to look at her but she turned away. "Won't you tell me?"
Yoobin looked at him and shook her head. She finally decided to speak. "I'm sorry for worrying you. It's just... nothing."
"Why can't you tell me? I see the girl I like crying while in my arms and now you tell me that it's nothing?" Taeyang asked, annoyed that he doesn't know a thing. He stared at Yoobin intensely, hoping to get an answer.
"It wasn't so hard for Hyori to do..." she said under her breath which Taeyang missed.
"What?"
"To get a certain guy, do girls just cry? As long as they can get that person?" she asked, more to herself than Taeyang. She was considering what Sunye had said in the cafeteria, about Hyori lying about getting cheated on just to get TOP back.
"If you cried just for me, you know I'd go to you anytime," he said jokingly and smiled at her. She tried to smile back but shook her head.
"Pabo..." Yoobin said faintly. "I wouldn't do such a thing. And for you?"
Taeyang backed away, only to see that Yoobin was joking. He sighed.
Yoobin looked back at the falling leaves. "You aren't serious about me are you?"
She didn't mean it as a question, but more like a confirmation. She wanted to confirm that Taeyang was probably in some bet or just playing around with her. Taeyang was quiet. It wasn't until a few minutes later that someone made a sound.
"I'm not so sure anymore," he said suddenly, a smile inside his voice. "With you, it's a whole new and different feeling. It's so... unimaginable. I never expected a feeling like this."
Yoobin looked at him and saw that his eyes spoke the truth. He doesn't really know if what he feels was...
"Love... what is it?" he asked unexpectedly. Yoobin didn't say a word because she had no answer. Just like him, she also wanted to know what love was, how it felt and what was so good about it. The two amateurs at love looked at each other. "Maybe I'll find out when I'm with you..."
"Taeyang..." Yoobin said as she looked at Taeyang's creamy brown eyes that seemed to see right through her. "What if I'm not the one?"
Taeyang looked away and started to laugh, making Yoobin confused. "What?" she asked.
He shook his head but continued to laugh. Yoobin pouted and crossed her arms, noticing that Taeyang's white jacket was still over her. She took it off and handed it back to him.
"Keep it," he said. "I want it to be a memory of our first hug. Although I must say, our first hug should have came before our date."
Yoobin laughed. "I wouldn't consider that a date. There was a third wheel."
"I agree," Taeyang said and laughed with her. He seemed to always be laughing whenever he's around Yoobin.
'Who exactly was the third wheel...' Yoobin thought. She looked at the happy Taeyang and smiled to herself. She was glad to see him happy, it didn't seem to match sad eyes on him. His smile was delightful and she only noticed this now. 'Maybe I should give you a chance,' she thought as she stared at Taeyang.
"You still won't tell me?" Taeyang asked when he was able to stop laughing. Yoobin "hmmed" and shook her head. She heard the time and realized that they've been there for the whole lunch hour. She stood up as she was prepared to go back to class when Taeyang held her back, holding her soft hands.
"Let's skip."
Yoobin looked at him, wondering why. Maybe he's noticed that she was unwilling to go to class. She nodded, amazed that she was agreeing to skip class for the first time in her life. 'I guess there's a first for everything,' she thought and walked with Taeyang to his car.
'Love,' she thought as they neared his car, 'maybe I'll try it.' She squeezed Taeyang's hand which startled him. He turned back to see Yoobin smiling brightly and he smiled back.

TOP and Hyori headed to class. Hyori felt a bit awkward walking there with TOP being all silent beside her. She's tried multiple times to make a conversation with him but it seems she was just going back to a monologue. He hasn't talked to anyone at all ever since they saw Taeyang and Yoobin hugging at the lobby.
She peeked at TOP's face and found a serious expression covering it. She couldn't stand it.
"Yah, TOP, is there something wrong?" Hyori asked, annoyed with the weird aura between them. As expected, TOP stayed silent. "Tell me what's bugging you! I can't stand seeing you like this. Is it because of what I said?"
At the very least, TOP was actually listening. He shook his head but Hyori wasn't satisfied with just a little movement.
"Then what?" She wondered and tried to think about what could have bothered him. Then she thought of Yoobin. "Is it because... you saw Yoobin with Taeyang?"
This time, there was a reaction. He whipped his head towards her, his expression no longer serious but confused. It was unexpected. "What did you say?" TOP asked. Hyori was satisfied but she definitely wasn't happy.
"Yah, don't tell me you were jealous? And I already told you that Yoobin was a back-stabbing jerk who just plays with everyone. Next thing you know, she'll dump Taeyang." She crossed her arms as she made up lies about her worst enemy and maybe her rival.
"Don't talk like that..." TOP said softly. Hyori looked at him confusedly. When did he start acting like this?
"TOP... what are you thinking about? What's inside your head. I've only missed a few weeks and the next thing I know, it's like I don't know you?" Hyori said and TOP rolled her eyes.
"It's the same for you isn't it?" She shot a glare at him, having no idea what he was talking about. "It's like I don't know you. Are you the same Hyori I liked before?" he continued.
"I'm the same Lee Hyori in the inside and the outside. I'll never be anyone else and I haven't changed!" she said. TOP shook his head, his mind totally overloading.
"Hyori-ah... go to class first. I'll be somewhere else to clear my head." TOP turned around and started to jog when Hyori called after him. "Give me some time to think, okay?"

Seung Ri and Dae Sung were in class, still talking about the incident instead of doing their project.
"But who knew Taeyang-hyung would get Yoobin? I totally expected Yoobin-ssi to push him away," said Seung Ri as he pretended to do his work. Dae Sung nodded in agreement. "Totally unexpected," he replied.
"So does this mean that Yoobin likes him?" Dae Sung asked. Seung Ri wondered what the answer might be.
"Maybe... but what about TOP-hyung?"
"What do you mean what about TOP-hyung? When was he ever in this?"
"Yah, don't you remember about the kiss incident? I've heard from Taeyang-hyung that he 'accidentally' kissed her instead of Hyori-noona. Maybe he did it on purpose!" Seung Ri concluded in a loud voice. The professor came towards them.
"Yah, go do your work," he said and the two nodded. Of course they just kept whispering to each other. They still thought like kids.
"Sohee-ssi!" Seung Ri hissed. "Can you pass that!" He pointed to his pen on the floor. Sohee reached for it and handed it to him without a word. "Thank you!" he whispered but was completely ignored. "Aish, don't you ever talk? Don't you know that's bad for your reputation? You're already a star, a Wonderful!"
Sohee rolled her eyes and turned towards him. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so.. snobby." She smiled at him and went back to her work.
"Snob," Seung Ri murmured but Sohee just ignored it. "Psh. Why can't you be like Sunmi-ssi? She's so pretty..."
"Yah, don't you already have your girlfriend?" Dae Sung whispered, overhearing Seung RI talking to himself.
"It's not like I'm going to replace my girlfriend with Sunmi-ssi. She'll never even know that I like her. I love my girlfriend," Seung Ri said with a proud and sly smile as he looked over to Dae Sung.
"Aish, I love noona too!" He said, talking about his girlfriend who was two years older than him. But wouldn't it change after their debut?

"Where are we going?" Yoobin asked Taeyang as they drove to a nearby park. She saw a playground across and wondered why Taeyang would want to go here.
"This is my favorite hang out place. I thought I'd show it to you," he said as he stopped the engine. He stepped out of the car and ran to Yoobin's door and opened it for her. She smiled at him and looked at the small park ahead of them. "This is where I first met my old and good friend, TOP."
Yoobin immediately shot her head in Taeyang's direction. He smiled as he reminisced about his childhood memories. "You were childhood friends with TOP?"
Taeyang nodded as they started to walk to the park. "Believe it or not, I used to be a shy boy back then. Always getting bullied but then TOP came here. I used to call him hyung until he totally got annoyed of it and just told me to call him TOP."
"Wow, shy boy? Very hard to imagine. TOP huh... he helped you?" Yoobin asked, suddenly interested yet trying to keep distant from the topic.
"Yeah, surprisingly it was him who helped me out of my shell. He treated me as a little brother, but of course now as his best friend. He showed me the tricks to living a life and standing up for myself." Taeyang smiled, remembering the tough times where TOP had to shout at him numerous times to get something right. Yoobin smiled too, as she imagine what it was like to see it from Taeyang's view.
"So... TOP was a kind person, huh?" she asked, not able to be deny being interested. Taeyang laughed. They reached the park and Yoobin decided to sit at the mini stairs by the slide where Taeyang sat.
"True, his image could make him look really scary or maybe cold-hearted but inside, he's one of the kindest people I've ever met. Even nicer than the two of us combined I bet." He looked at Yoobin who wasn't believing Taeyang's story. He laughed knowing that it's hard to see it like that but it was true. "I bet that when he mistook you for Hyori, he was all sweet, wasn't he?"
Now that Yoobin thought about it, he was. Even the kiss was soft, yet captivating and it had some feeling in-- Yoobin had to shake her head to forget that the kiss ever happened. But she nodded to agree.
"TOP easily falls for people with 'kind' hearts. From what I see, Hyori-noona was apparently kind to everyone and that's what TOP fell for. Not just that... he has a soft spot on those that have 'weak' hearts, he feels sorry for them and he has no choice but to be tied down with them. He's a person I really admire," Taeyang said. Yoobin smiled.
"So TOP in reality is a good person who can understand you and will try to help you. If you cry in front of him, he'll feel confused. He has a soft heart and won't hurt you..." she trailed off, when she realized it was too late. Just from the description of his "better" side, she could already imagine herself falling for TOP. He was the perfect guy after all. His ability to rap, his style, everything she's looked for in a guy was there. Sure, their first impression wasn't too good but after that date and how Taeyang described him, she's seeing this other side that will fit everything. But the other problem was...
"It's too bad he can't see Hyori's dark side." Yoobin looked at him, puzzled.
"What do you mean?"
"Hyori-noona in reality isn't so... kind-hearted as he once saw her. Yeah, it's true she can be kind but for the wrong reasons. She already found out about his personality and his weakness: a person who's fragile. All she needs to look like is a fragile person and she holds captive of him," he said. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. It's such a waste."
"Why don't you tell him then?" Yoobin asked, suddenly irritated at the thought.
"I tried, and not only me, but everyone who knows her true self. We all failed. Hyori is tying him down and he thinks he loves her."
"He doesn't love her?" Yoobin eagerly wanted to know. Taeyang shrugged.
"Maybe, maybe not. But all I know is that TOP can't bear too hurt her. You should've seen him those few days after breaking up with her."
Yoobin felt her heart twitch inside but kept it in. No matter how painful it was. 'What is this feeling?' she asked herself and put her hand over her chest. 'Why is it that every time I think of him... my heart beats faster and faster?'
"I'm confused..." Yoobin said aloud. Taeyang smiled and stood up to go on the swings.
"You're not the only one, trust me!" Taeyang shouted as he looked back. He sat on the swing and thrust his legs to make it move. Before Yoobin could arrive there, he was already high up in the air.
"Just wait, Taeyang, I'll catch up to you!" she yelled and sat on the swing beside his. She started to move her legs in one direction and then the other as she caught up to Taeyang's height.
They were laughing loudly, forgetting the time and completely forgetting about everything else. They just took the time to talk about as many things as they could to distract themselves from the complicated question. Everything seemed to never end, until they heard footsteps on the rocks behind them. Taeyang jumped off the swing that was pretty high. Yoobin looked confused and tried to slowed down so that she could look as well. As soon as she almost touched the ground, she saw Taeyang's face turn into a smile yet filled with surprise. She anxiously turned around to see who it was and found a tall guy standing there.
"TOP?" said Taeyang. "What are you doing here?"
TOP didn't say anything but started to walk towards them. Yoobin thought he was angry for some reason but a smile came up on his face.
"Is it wrong for me to be here? Isn't this our special spot?" TOP asked and noogied him on the head. "I see you showed it to one of your girls. How many times have you showed this to them?"
TOP smirked at him as Taeyang shook his head. "She's the only one."
TOP showed a startled face and was about to say something when Yoobin came along.
"Hi..." she said quietly. TOP looked away for a second and looked back at her.
"Sorry... did I bother a date here?" asked TOP. Taeyang laughed and Yoobin shyly shook her head. "Maybe I should go."
"It's okay hyung. We were just talking, why don't you join us?" Taeyang suggested and led them to the growing green grass just at the side of the park. "Since you're the oldest, maybe you could help us with out problems, right Yoobin?"
He faced Yoobin who looked like she wasn't paying attention at all. "Oh? Uh...yeah."
"What kind of problem is it?" TOP asked, only making contact with Taeyang.
"Both of us were confused. About many things."
"Give me one."
Taeyang looked over at Yoobin wondering which one he should say but Yoobin didn't reply at all.
"How about the most confusing one of all. The one that has so much complications behind it and yet what people say is the best feeling." Taeyang paused dramatically. "Love."
TOP chuckled at the thought and looked weirdly at Taeyang. "Are you serious?" he asked.
Taeyang laughed with him, knowing that it was hard to believe. "Maybe I am." He stared at Yoobin now, his eyes melting her soul. She had to look away quickly before she couldn't get out of his gaze.
"I don't know if I can help you then..." TOP said slowly and Taeyang asked why. "Even I'm confused about that."
"Aren't you getting along with Hyori-noona?" TOP shrugged.
"I don't know if I still like her or what. I think it's just... something messed me up. And seeing how she got cheated on, I just --"
"She didn't get cheated on," Yoobin abruptly interrupted. TOP looked at her but didn't say a word. She continued anyway. "She was only lying. That day at the park, she was supposed to be somewhere else, with Rain but she stood him up. And she broke up with him, saying that she only used him."
TOP shook his head. "I think you're misunderstanding her."
"I'm not. She's a liar, TOP." He looked away.
"What makes you think she's lying?"
"Because I've seen her other side. She's not a kind person at all. Sure, she was before I met you but when it seems like I'm taking something of hers, she'll haunt you."
"Hyori's not like that," TOP countered. He was getting annoyed. "You don't know her so don't speak like that about her."
"And do you know her?" Yoobin asked which took TOP back. He never thought about that question. Even Taeyang was amazed. TOP was finally reconsidering it. But after a long moment of silent. He sighed.
"You're going crazy. I don't get why Taeyang liked you." With that, TOP stood up and patted Taeyang at the back, totally shunning Yoobin. He walked away without another word.
"So much for getting a nice peaceful moment here at our secret spot," TOP mumbled to himself.
"What's wrong with him?" Yoobin asked, slightly concerned. "But what I said was true." She faced Taeyang who might be thinking the same as TOP but he smiled his gentle smile at her.
"I believe you," he said. Yoobin smiled back. It felt so comfortable to be around Taeyang. What was this feeling exactly?
