Wrong Kiss! -COMPLETED-

by Miss Ahn

Chapter 32

{ 3O } start with a kiss

"Begin with... a wrong kiss?!" Sunye almost shouted.

"That's right! So all you have to do is get that kiss in there and then sparks will come," Yoobin said in a cheery voice. Sunye was quiet for a while.

"I don't know Yoobin... I mean, a kiss?" Sunye said, unsure of Yoobin's suggestion.

"Didn't you say you were stronger?"

"But I've already failed once, and I don't think I could do it again."

"Failed once? When was this?!" Yoobin said in a loud voice, surprised. Sunye closed her eyes as she told Yoobin about the pool scene.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU KISS HIM?! That could've been a PERFECT chance," Yoobin lectured.

Sunye sighed, regretting it too. "But at that time, I probably had a cool face on, but I swear my heart was beating so fast and I felt so shaky, but I guess at that moment it didn't matter so much since I just got CPR from the guy I love."

"CPR! You didn't mention that," Yoobin said, getting sucked in with the all the gossip from Sunye.

"Now I did. But anyway, another kiss seems impossible."

Yoobin tsked her friend. "Impossible was never in Sunye's dictionary. But SUCCESS is! Now, start a plan by tomorrow. I have to go because Wonbin is being a pain and wants me to cook kimchi for him. Sunye, hwaiting~ Bye!"

"Wai...t. So much for waiting," Sunye said and tucked her phone away. "Wrong kiss, huh?"

_____
"Taeyang, you have a visitor," a staff member called out. Taeyang finished adjusting his costume for the phone CF before he looked up. He didn't expect anyone to come today, especially not Sunye.

She waved to him and started walking towards him. Everyone was looking at the other beautiful SUNNY member. Taeyang quickly walked towards her, too.

"Sunye, what are you doing here?" he asked. Sunye held up a bag that looked like a bento.

"I brought food for someone special. It's my day off, today. And starting tomorrow, I might get a little busy so I decided to come today." Sunye handed him the food and greeted the staff members with a gentle smile.

"Thanks but I still have some filming to do," Taeyang said, handing it back to her.

"Oh, it's okay, I can wait." Sunye walked over by the chairs and sat down, leaving the bag with Taeyang. He sighed as he handed it to the staff member and returned to his position. The director called out instructions and Taeyang obediently followed.

Sunye smiled, enjoying watching the handsome Taeyang. She giggled at the times where he was making the cutest mistakes. It was finally break time for Taeyang. Sunye stood up and followed him around until he agreed to eat the lunch she prepared.

As the two walked to the table, they heard whispers from the staff all around. “Yah, do you think they’re dating? Uwah~ they fit perfectly with each other! He’s way out of her league. She seems too nice for him. He’ll never stay with her. She’s the next victim. They’re definitely the new couple.”

Some of the things they said satisfied Sunye but some also made her worry. ‘Wat out of my league?!’ she thought to herself. ‘He’ll never stay with me?! I’m the next victim? They must be crazy to think that. Taeyang will only look at me!’ She smiled innocently at them as she sat down beside Taeyang.

“Did you hear them? They said we’re DEFINITELY the new couple,” Sunye said, emphasizing DEFINITELY as a sign that they will be a couple. Taeyang rolled his eyes and opened the bag. Despite Sunye’s looks, the food she cooked looked very decent and smelled delicious. Hesitantly, Taeyang slowly brought the food close to his mouth while Sunye watched him with anticipation. He popped it in his mouth and chewed very carefully, still getting stalked by Sunye’s wide and curious eyes. He slowly turned to her with a blank face.

“Oh no! Does it taste bad? Did I overcook something? Or maybe I didn’t c--” she stopped when she saw Taeyang smile and give her a thumbs up. Then Taeyang continued getting seconds and leaving it all in his mouth, cherishing the yummy taste.

“Ah~ that was apetizing,” he said and stood up, preparing to go back on again when Sunye grabbed his hand. She wasn’t there only for that reason. She smiled at him, expecting him to say something.

He crunched his eyebrows, uncertain by what she wanted. “Oh, um thank you.”

He was about to leave again and Sunye had no choice but to say it herself. “So, Taeyang, you liked it right?”

“Of course. Surprisingly, you’re a good cook.”

Sunye raised an eyebrow. “Surprisingly? Well that doesn’t matter. You know, instead of a thank you...”

“You... don’t want a kiss, do you?” he asked. Sunye suddenly felt troubled, but of course she couldn’t just say it out loud, with everyone watching them as if it was a drama scene.

“Uh... of course not! SILLY!” she said, slapping his arm. She leaned in closer to whisper something so that others wouldn’t hear her. “This Saturday, at two, in front of the Movie Empire Theatres.”

She quickly turned around and closed her eyes. At least HALF of her plan worked out well, if only she didn’t chicken out when he asked her.

_____
Yoobin chewed on the chocolates she received from TOP on their date from the day before as she listened to Sunye talk about her first try at the plan.

"And WHY didn't you say you want a kiss?" Yoobin said, ripping a huge chunk of the chocolate bar that she had.

"Well you should've heard how he said it... It was in a disgusted kind of tone. And come on, I'm a 'star' now, I can't just ask another famous celebrity to give me a kiss in front of a lot of gossip-lovers," Sunye complained as she tried to grab a chocolate piece from Yoobin.

Yoobin shook her head. "So you asked him for a date? I guess it's a good BACK-UP plan. But why can't you just walk in his dressing room and then kiss him right when he turns around?"

Sunye glared at her and sighed. "I'm no TOP... and what am I supposed to say? I've mistaken you for the guy I love, oh which by the way is you."

"Sunye, you have to have more determination! Pretend Taeyang is this super tasty looking chocolate and you just want to eat him, no, DEVOUR him."

Sunye gave her best friend an awkward look. "Devour?"

"Whatever. You know that I mean KISS, okay? Anyway, this Saturday is your DEADLINE. If you can't kiss him... when will you ever?" Yoobin explained. Then she heard a voice calling out for SUNNY. "Now, let's go and show our fans who SUNNY really is."

_____
'I think I came here WAY too early,' Sunye thought as she looked at her D&G watch she received from her parents' for her birthday. It read twelve o'clock. She tucked her hat to make sure that no one recognizes her so that she wouldn't have to go through another free fan meeting session when she's supposed to be on a date. 'Two more hours, Sunye, you can wait!' she thought.

Half an hour passed when she decided to walk around for a while. And as she looked up, she thought that it was a miracle for Taeyang to come early. But she shouldn't have raised her expectations.

"Oh, isn't that Sunye of SUNNY?" the girl that Taeyang was holding hands with said. "I love her music!"

The girl quickly ran to Sunye and asked for an autograph. Sunye didn't even seem to notice her. All she could see was Taeyang, and all she could feel was the numbness caused by the pain. Her thoughts, 'Why was he with a girl? And on MY date?'

"Sunye-ssi, can I get a picture with you?" the girl repeated, showing her the white camera in her hands. Sunye snapped back into reality and smiled at the girl.

"I'm sorry... I'm not feeling good today," she said and turned away. The girl sighed and walked back to Taeyang.

"She looked like she was about to cry," the girl said as she watched Sunye cross the street. "Why did you need me to act as your date anyway. You've never done this when I liked you. And you already know about my boyfriend's jealousy issues."

"Sorry... but thanks for coming out," he replied, staring at the ground.

"Look, why can't you just make her day and go on a date with her? Why ruin it?"

Taeyang sighed and shrugged. "She has a different feel from all the others. I feel like I need to protect her from the pain. I guess she's kind of special to me, but not in that way."

"Ah~ and I was never special to you? But Taeyang, I don't think you want to protect her. I think you want to protect yourself." Taeyang looked at her, surprised by what she had said. "And is this one way to protect her? To bring a fake date and pretend you don't even care about her? Yah, I think your broken heart has ruined you. Whatever, go deal with your problem. I'm going."

"To protect myself?" he asked himself.

_____
Yoobin walked to the theater, planning to spy on how well Sunye's plan was going. She snooped around with a hat and her hood on so that she wouldn't be noticed by either the fans or Sunye and Taeyang. She looked at her watch and wondered why she couldn't spot either of them since it was already two. Some people looked at her suspiciously, thinking she's a stalker.

She finally decided to go in and see if they are already watching a movie. But after half an hour of endless walking, she gave up. She bought a drink of her own and sat at one of the benches at the side. As she took a sip, she stared at the couples holding hands so freely and showing public display of affection, in public! But as she scoped from left to right, she noticed something. She took a closer look and grabbed her things as she walked there.

Once she got a clear view, she gasped. "Taeyang?!"

He looked up with a frown, surprised that Yoobin was there. Yoobin was just as surprised.

"What are you doing here?" they both said in unison.

Yoobin spoke first. "Aren't you supposed to be on a date with Sunye? Or are you still waiting for her?"

Taeyang sighed. "She left a long time ago... what are you doing here?"

"I was just watching, I mean walking around. But what do you mean she left?" Yoobin asked.

"I was with another girl," he said bluntly. Yoobin's eyes widened.

"Why would you do that?!" she shouted angrily. Taeyang looked at her with a blank face.

"Because I wanted to. And I forgot all about this date in the first place --"

Yoobin couldn't hold it anymore. She lifted her drink and opened the lid, pouring it on Taeyang.

"Aish! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" he shouted, trying to wipe himself. Yoobin shook her head.

"No, what are YOU doing? Don't you know she's worked so hard for you? And then you're hurting her?"

Taeyang stood up. "And what about you? How hard have I worked for you? That day I was going to profess to you again, I see you with TOP. How much do you think you hurt me?"

Yoobin was silent, feeling the guilt all over again. She hated how he easily made her feel bad, but she knew it was a different thing.

"Why won't you give Sunye a chance? I gave you a chance didn't I?" she said, with a softer tone. Taeyang shivered, feeling colder by the minute. People started to gather around them, whispering with one another.

"Look, can we talk about this after I change?" Taeyang said and walked out. Yoobin didn't want to just stay there awkwardly so she followed him.

_____
"Yah, where are you going?" Yoobin called, trying to catch up with Taeyang.

"Why are you even following me? I'm planning to change into something dry that hopefully, you won't ruin." Taeyang entered a clothing store that was suited for people with lots of money. He looked around, trying to pick out something as quick as he could so that he could change from his wet clothes. Yoobin tried to help out by browsing through the clothes.

An item caught her eye and she quickly grabbed it, until she found the tag. "O-o-one thousand... dollars?!" she almost shouted. She shoved it back when Taeyang came from behind her and grabbed it.

"This one?" he asked and went straight to the fitting room.

"Wait, isn't that a bit... too much?"

Taeyang chuckled in the fitting room. "You're a star, you should know we have the money to buy it."

Yoobin nodded, although she still wasn't used to being famous. All she dreamed of was to perform for everyone, to share the talents that she had. And she had just debuted with Sunye so she didn't expect to earn that much money.

Taeyang came out in a matter of minutes with an outfit that fit him perfectly. He went to the cashier and scanned his credit card and quickly left the store. He noticed that Yoobin was still following him.

"You know, TOP might kill me if he finds out that his girlfriend is stalking his ex-rival," he said jokingly. Yoobin rolled her eyes, although she knew that TOP would probably be a bit jealous. Just a bit.

"So why exactly did you bring a girl to your date with Sunye?" Yoobin asked, not wanting to drag on forever. Taeyang stopped walking and glanced at Yoobin, who didn't look where she was going and ended up bumping into him.

"We haven't been so close in such a long time," Taeyang said slowly, resisting his temptations to hug her. Yoobin crossed her arms, wanting him to answer her question. "Because I don't want Sunye to like me."

"And why is that?"

"Because she's different from everyone," he said, as if he didn't understand it himself.

"Different from me, too, right?" Taeyang didn't answer her.

"You know, Taeyang, I think you're afraid." Taeyang glanced at her, thinking that it's impossible. "Don't deny it. You're afraid to open yourself up because you think that the ending will be the same. The one month you've been gone... you used it to run away."

Taeyang opened his mouth as if he was going to say something but he closed it again. Part of his conscience was telling him Yoobin was right. He was still silent.

"Sunye... she's changed. She's much stronger and she's never been like this before. Her determination to get your love is so high but if you crush it like that... you'll end up not only hurting her, but hurting yourself," Yoobin said. "In order to love, you need to be able to trust them, and for that, you need to be strong."

She looked at Taeyang with clear eyes. "You're strong, aren't you? Don't let the love you had for me block your way. Let it guide you... now why don't you stop walking around when I saw you pass your car a few minutes ago. GO AND GET SUNYE!"

"But I don't even like h--"

"LOOK! You either give her a chance, or be a loser that you are and avoid trying to love anyone for the rest of your life!" Yoobin lectured. Taeyang sighed, feeling the need to obey Yoobin and at the same time, having the will to chase after Sunye, wherever she was.

Taeyang nodded and stared at Yoobin. "I won't forget that I've loved someone like you. And I definitely won't forget that you might be the reason why I can love someone else."

Yoobin smiled and so did Taeyang before he ran back to find his car and look for Sunye. "Taeyang, I trust you with my best friend. You're only a step away from realizing what you feel, after all, your love for me wasn't 100%..."
