`ALSO MEANWHILE ;
She laid across her couch as she grabbed the remote on the coffee table. She flipped through countless channels, changing them in quick seconds, until one caught her eye.
"--has been reported that Yoobin from SUNNY and TOP from Big Bang has been dating for a while," the voice reporter said.
Hyori fumed as she heard the news. "TOP replaced me with HER?!" She threw the remote across the room and ended up breaking it. She groaned in frustration.
"I don't get this! Everyone's been debuting and everyone's getting some special love relationship and everyone's getting rich! How about me?!" she complained to herself as she threw a pillow across the room which ended up hitting the lamp which thudded to the ground. Hyori screamed again.
"What's wrong with me?" she asked, feeling like she's about to cry when a knock came in the door. Hyori ignored it as she stretched across the sofa and looked at the boring ceiling. The knocks came in again, harder and twice the amount. She groaned as she slowly walked to open it.
"What do you --" Hyori was about to say in a nasty tone when she saw the guy's handsome face. "--need from me?"
The guy looked at her with disgust from the fake sweet tone. "Are you --"
"Okay? Oh yes, I was just relieving some stress," Hyori said and flickered her eyes at him. He raised an eyebrow.
"Um, no. Are you going crazy? Because all I can hear is you relieving some of your insanity. You're screaming at the top of your lungs and it's ruining my nap," he replied with a nasty tone. "And your fake eyelashes are coming off."
Hyori gasped at the personality of the guy and slammed the door shut, though the guy had already left. "Ugh, I hate those kind of guys. That's exactly why I date guys like TOP. AH! I WANT TOP BACK!"
The knock came in the door again. Hyori glanced at it and quickly went the other direction from the door. "As if I'm gonna answer THAT."
But he wasn't stopping with the knocking. Hyori set the glass of water down and rushed to the door and swung it open. She was about to shout when she found the handsome guy smiling so brightly.
"Hey there," it was the same guy, but his personality was so different. 'Twins?' she wondered and went along with it. He smiled at her as he said, "are you still relieving some stress or are you seriously trying to let me kick you out of this apartment?"
Hyori found him unbelievable. Even with his good looks, his personality was brutal. "You think you could kick me out of this apartment? I'd like to see you try," she mocked.
... But she didn't think it could actually happen. Hyori knocked and kicked his door many times so that she'll let him back in. She didn't expect the rude head to be the landowner of the apartment because of his young age, or at least that's what he looked like. She decided to take a break from the pestering and sat by the wall and gathered her things. She had her luggage and everything she owned outside of her house. In no time, Hyori fell asleep.
The door clicked open and he was all dressed up but was surprised after seeing Hyori sitting by the wall, asleep. He leaned closer to see if it was a trick but was a bit disappointed that it wasn't. He locked his door and ignored her but once he reached the elevator, he remembered her again.
"Aish!" he said and returned to where Hyori was. He lightly kicked her and woke her up. "Let's go back, I don't want to seem like a bad guy to a girl. It'll hurt my brother's reputation."
Hyori scratched her eye and looked up at him. She looked like a total bum with her hair messed up and her baggy clothes. He couldn't hold in a laugh. "On second thought, you match the outside more," he joked. Hyori glared at him and folded her arms but he continued to laugh. His laugh caught Hyori's eye. It reminded her of someone.
"You're unbelievably familiar... I didn't date you before, did I?" Hyori asked, unsure if he was one of her suitors from the past. He raised an eyebrow.
"Me? Date someone like you? Nah, that's IMPOSSIBLE," he emphasized with a grin.
"Ah, that grin is like TOP's friend!" She finally remembered Taeyang's same grin when he was around them.
"TOP?" he asked. Hyori nodded.
"He used to be madly in love with me," she said and pretended to tear up. "Until that Yoobin byatch stole him."
He started to laugh again. "I should let you know, it's impossible for a girl to 'steal' a guy. It's technically because just like girls say, us guys aren't possessions. And you don't look like TOP's type either."
Hyori gasped. "What would you know about TOP?"
"I'm a good friend of his. Youngwoo," he introduced as he reached out a hand in intent of shaking hers. She grabbed it thinking that he was trying to help her up.
"Youngwoo? I thought you'd be like Taewoo or something," Hyori stated as she fixed her baggy clothes. "Are you going to give me back my home or what?"
Youngwoo rolled his eyes. The girl was so demanding. "Yeah, yeah. But I do warn you. Don't scream or make loud noises or anything that can tick me off, or else you'll find yourself out of the building."
Hyori hmphed. "Whatever," she said and grabbed her things as she followed him back to her apartment.
"Oh, it's messy here," Youngwoo commented and looked around. "When was the last time you cleaned up around here?"
"Me? Clean? Ugh, that's a maid's job," she said and landed on the sofa. "Ah~ home at last."
Youngwoo looked around the apartment and returned with a frown. "You better clean this place or else I'm kicking you out, again."
Hyori gasped. "CLEANING?! You must be kidding me!"
"Does my face look like it's kidding," he said with an evil smirk. Hyori sighed and got up as she started to fix one part of the apartment. "Well, meanwhile, I have somewhere to go but I will come back to check on how clean this place is."
"Yeah, yeah," Hyori replied nonchalantly.
Youngwoo left in a flash. Hyori looked around to see if he was gone and quickly grabbed her phone. "Oh, can I hire a maid? Yes, at 435 Suyun Street. About two or three hours? Thank you."
Hyori laid back on her sofa. "Time to relax."
_____
Hyori opened the door for Youngwoo and proudly let him in. She showed him every room and found not a single speck of dust. Youngwoo looked at her and nodded, amazed.
"You did this all by yourself," Youngwoo said, astonished by how clean it became considering how she was complaining before. Hyori smirked and shrugged when her tummy started to rumble.
Youngwoo glanced at her. "You didn't eat yet?"
Hyori blushed. "Oh, I must've been so busy at rela-- I mean cleaning."
"Why don't you eat something then? Maybe cook?"
She snorted. "Cooking? Seriously? I buy my food."
"Then why don't you buy something for yourself? You look like you're really hungry," he suggested as he checked under the sofa to see if she stuffed things inside.
"Okay, I'll do that," she said and grabbed her bag. She looked back at Youngwoo who sat comfortably on her chair. "What are you doing?"
"What do you think? I'm staying here for dinner," he said and grabbed the remote and clicked the power button. He clicked it again but the television didn't turn on. "What's wrong with your TV?"
Hyori gasped and remembered how she threw it after watching the news about TOP and Yoobin. "The remote ran out of batteries," she lied. "Anyway, you don't need to stay for dinner. I'll be eating out."
Youngwoo shook his head. "After I looked at the information about you, Miss Hyori, you seem to miss out on paying the rent for a while. So I'll let you off the hook if you give me dinner."
Hyori panicked in her head as she faked a smile. 'I shouldn't have hired a maid!' she thought and looked in her wallet. 'Only $5 left. My mom won't be sending money until next week.' She glanced at Youngwoo and sighed. She had to find another job soon, considering her debut was postponed and that she might not even debut anymore.
"Actually... I'm on a diet!" she lied again. Youngwoo observed her and raised an eyebrow.
"I can hear your stomach grumbling from miles away and you're saying you're on a diet? And you're already so skinny, you look like you need more fat in you," he said, with no intent to be mean. Hyori scowled.
"And what, you appear to be in good shape?"
Youngwoo nodded conceitedly. "Of course. Anyway, run along now. I'm feeling hungry too."
Hyori frowned as she bit her lower lip. 'What should I do?' She looked at him and saw him switch from sitting down to lying down as if it was his own sofa. "Yah! Why don't you eat at home?"
"Look, what's the deal? I'm giving you a chance to pay up your rent here!"
Hyori sighed knowing that she had no choice but to tell him. "I don't have anymore money though..."
"What? Aren't you one of the trainees at whatever company that is? And you don't have money?"
"Well... they don't give a huge amount and I usually buy some good clothes because I DO have to look good after all. And the allowance I get was kind of used up all day today," she said, remembering being charged a large amount by the maid. Youngwoo looked at her with suspicion. "I'm not kidding!"
"I see that, but how is it possible you used it up all today when you were cleaning the house?"
Hyori's eyes wandered as she tried to think up of an excuse. "After I went shopping."
"Really?" Youngwoo said suspiciously. Hyori couldn't stand his gaze anymore and gave up.
"Okay, okay. I didn't clean the house, and I hired a maid to do it and she charged me a lot of money and all I have is $5. How am I supposed to buy good food with that?" Hyori said and slouched to the ground, sighing.
Youngwoo shook his head and got up. "I have no choice, huh? For a pretty lady like you, you can't do housework and you can't cook? How will you survive in this world based on only your looks? If you had talent, you'd have debuted earlier."
Hyori rolled her eyes. "That stupid Yoobin stole my chance!"
"Yoobin?" he repeated. "Oh... that was Taeyang's first love..."
"Taeyang? You know him?"
Youngwoo nodded. "He's my bro-- no, he's just an acquaintance. But enough about them. I'm hungry and I want to eat and I can't just leave you here with a hungry stomach. You'll make my conscience go crazy. It's already beating me every time with Taeyang," he mumbled the last sentence. He opened the door and gave her a look. "Let's go."
"What? I'm coming with you?"
"No, you're left here to die of starvation. Hurry up or you'll have no dinner."
Hyori blushed as she followed him. "Thanks," she said shyly.
_____
"Here," Youngwoo said as he brought the pot in the center of the table. He took the lid off and presented Hyori with some good food. "Start eating."
Hyori looked at it and drooled at the delicious smell. She felt like she could get full just by the fresh sensation of it. But she didn't want to look too greedy. "Are you sure it's edible?"
Youngwoo nodded proudly. "There are two basic things I'm good at. One, getting the girls I want, and two, cooking."
She looked up at him and gave a snort. "You, get girls you want? PUHLEASE."
She grabbed the huge spoon and started taking some food to her plate. It smelled delicious and she wanted to get hands on it as soon as she can. She brought her spoon filled with food close to her mouth and as soon as she opened it, Youngwoo stopped her.
"You don't believe me?" he asked, tauntingly.
Hyori raised both of her thin, brown eyebrows. "No, I don't. After all, you can't get me."
He laughed and let her have her dinner. "I said I can get the girls I WANT. Who said I wanted YOU?"
Hyori choked on her food and scowled at him angrily. "Who DOESN'T want me?"
"Apparently your 'stolen boyfriend' TOP," he returned with a mock.
"Then again, he was blind, just like you. You can't even tell when a beautiful lady is in front of you," she retorted.
"A beautiful lady? I know one when I see one. I'd rather be blind than look at you."
Hyori couldn't return anything so she just stuffed the food HE made in her mouth and sighed. "The only thing about you is your cooking," she mumbled.
"So you don't find me attractive?" he said with his most charming voice and dazzling smile. Hyori did find him attractive but she wasn't going to admit.
"Attractive? What's so attractive about a guy who only knows how to cook? I like a guy who can do other things."
"And I like girls who CAN cook other than do those other things that she thinks she can do."
Hyori banged her spoon and fork on the table. "I'm done here."
Youngwoo laughed, and it soothed her ears but she didn't want him to know. "Of course you are. You finished the whole plate. Is my cooking that delicious?"
"Your cooking was as terrible as your personality," she countered.
"Then I must be yummy," he replied with a sly smirk. "You must want to eat me up."
He wasn't teasing her anymore, he was trying to... SEDUCE HER? He reached out a hand and she quickly slapped it.
"I hope you go to hell," she snapped.
He chuckled and gazed at her eyes, which he was starting to like. "Be careful with your words. If I go to hell, where will you be living?"
"Ugh," she said and headed towards the door.
"You do know, you still owe me a dinner AND payment for the rent!" he called. She groaned. She opened the door and once she got out, she slammed it behind her. She faced the door with a dirty look.
"JERK!" she shouted. Youngwoo chuckled inside.
"And the hard to get girls are always the most interesting," he said seductively.
