Chapter 119

Misunderstandings

AN
It appears that I promised a certain fan through my friend who attended Cube United London that I would update during that week almost 2 weeks ago...I AM SORRY OTL !!!
But here's the update ^^ Forgive me ^^;;;

“Kim JaeJoong is most definitely the target now.”

SeolHwan’s minions looked at each other, confused as to whether SeolHwan was referring to THE mission or THAT mission.

“You can all prepare yourselves for that honorary official badge now.”

So it was THE mission.

Onew beamed before looking over at Key who scowled at him for doing so. JongHyun saw, he didn’t like it. Although he had seen Key scowling he couldn’t help but feel agitated that Onew had regained his old positive self.

“What happened? How do you know JaeJoong is ‘him’?” TaeMin asked, unaware of the valuable information that Key had given SeolHwan the day before.

“Kim JaeJoong’s birthday is next week. It is said in the mission’s file that the prince should expect ‘changes’ to occur within 1-2 weeks before his birthday. That is a sign that the prince is returning.”

[ Kim JaeJoong P.O.V. ]

“You fucking prick.” Was the comment that I had made when the story of his ‘previous’ life ended.

WonBin shrugged, as if he got that a lot, “It’s all in the past. I’m repenting.”

“SeolHwan remembers now doesn’t he?”

WonBin nodded, as if not affected at all. How the fuck can he not be affected? Heck, SeolHwan would probably beat the shit out of him. Wait...could a frail thing like that beat the shit out of this block of muscle?

“Anyway, just so you know I came to this school with that other bastard,” clearly he meant SeungHyun, “to complete a mission for the throne to hell. We’re supposed to help bring back some vampire prince and stop a certain someone from returning.”

He then looked at me, as if gesturing that I was the target. It better not be.

He laughed, “Don’t worry, it’s not you.”

Why do I have a STRONG feeling that he just lied?

“Anyway I’ve given up on that mission in order to repent the wrong-doings of my past. After all, it appears that my mission goes against SeolHwan’s mission, his mission to detain ‘sleeping’ prince.”

Crazy fool, why give up the chance of obtaining the throne to hell for a prick like Kwon SeolHwan? If I was in his position power would come first over old relationships. Besides, it doesn’t even look like SeolHwan would even think about forgiving this guy for what he done. Him giving up the throne for that prick is...fruitless.

Again he had read my mind but decided not to comment on it.

“Oh, don’t tell SeolHwan this, I want it to be a surprise.” He grinned foolishly.

A surprise? It would hardly be anywhere near a surprise to SeolHwan if he found out.

“Not that I plan on speaking to SeolHwan anytime soon.” I assured him.

“Fair enough.”

But the mission was still lingering in my mind...

“Hey, would it concern the world if this...prince comes back or some shit?” I questioned, keeping my eyes fixed on the overgrown plant in front.

WonBin crossed his arms and chewed his lip in thought, as if he himself didn’t know either and he was nothing but a mere pawn, “No, I don’t think so, it’s just a hassle for the heavens to deal with the vampire kingdom. And hell likes to create hassle for the heavens, it’s in our nature. But it’s nothing that mere humans like you should be concerned about.”

My shoulders relaxed, no longer did I have to envision dark images of the future where we have be slaves to the awakened prince. Then again...this prince, I still feel somewhat connected to it all...

I pressed on, “You sure it isn’t me? I swear I heard the student body say something about me potentially being some kind of prince.”

WonBin only let out a reassuring laugh before ruffling my hair with his hands, which I did not like. Not even my father dares to ruffle my hair, heck; I doubt he ever bothered thinking about acting out such a fatherly act.

Before I could react I heard glass shatter from a distance, then a thump right next to me.

Turning around before I could even see who it was I was immediately pulled up from the bench by large yet cold hands that had gripped so hard that I could almost feel my blood circulation being cut.
WonBin didn’t do anything to stop the person from dragging me back into the school building. When I turned around to look at him again he was mid way up from the chair, but decided to sit down again with a slightly amused expression.
Did this cunt want me to get raped?

However, luckily for me I wasn’t going to get raped.
It wasn’t until I was slammed against some old green lockers that my eyes had met YunHo’s dark and alluring orbs.

You have no idea how fucking happy I was to see him.

Before I could even mutter a word he spoke first, “Getting all comfy with another guy while I was gone hmn?”

He was clearly jealous, not in a playful way though, but in a dead serious way.

I scoffed, “What are you talking about? I only talked to him today.”

Either he knew it was a lie or he was just being stubborn.

“Don’t play dumb with me Kim, I was gone for a week, surely that thing down there was aching for some action while I was gone.”

Did he think I was some kind of a prostitute? An animal on heat? How dare the bastard degrade me.
Yeah sure I was craving for a fuck all this time, but I didn’t actually go out to seek people to fuck. Heck I was craving pussies for your information Jung YunHo, not like I could find any pussies around this measly village without having to put a bag over some girl’s head.

Having forgotten that the cold hands that he dragged me out by the wrist earlier had signified YunHo’s changed state, he had read my open mind at that very moment.
Shit.

“Oh so I guess you don’t need me and my dick anymore?”

Not that I particularly like that ice-like rod inside me anyway.

He narrowed his eyes.

Fuck.

He raised a brow, “So you like it when I’m a human huh?”

“Well it’s a thousand times nicer to feel something warm in this cold weather as opposed to something that would literally freeze my ass off!”

Oh dear God, why are we arguing over sex related issues. Thank God no one else was in this corridor...
Heck, why did I just blurt that out. That was unnecessary...

“Oh is that so?” his tone was becoming more irritated by the second, more sarcastic and bitter, “then I suppose that Oh WonBin back there was your back up, I bet he can shoot hot lava into your system while you’re going at it. That’s what you want isn’t it? Well I’m sorry that I can’t ejaculate hot lava, but hey I’m always around for Summer when you’re feeling a bit too hot for lava. Maybe a bit of ‘ice’ in your system would cool you down, you got my number right? Ring me!”

I gaped, dumbfounded, the very image of lava and ice being ejaculated from someone’s penis that somehow managed to creep into my mind made me shudder, “You’re being fucking ridiculous.”

“No you’re being fucking ridiculous here Kim JaeJoong,” he retaliated before backing away from me, “I guess I’ll be the hibernating boyfriend this winter.”

And with that he marched down the corridor, not bothering to look back, leaving me at loss for words.

What the fuck happened to him? What did he do for the past week? Inject some crazy fucked up shit into his system?
Fuck.

I sunk down against the lockers, inhaling and exhaling deeply, trying to process that high amount of sarcasm that YunHo had ever given me. Did he learn it from me? But I’m not even that sarcastic! I think...
A short burst of anxious laughter escaped my throat as I closed my eyes, imagining him learning that level of sarcasm from some romantic comedy drama. He had a thing for those dramas, especially in human form.
Maybe that was what he spent doing for the past week, a drama marathon...

The corridor remained silent as I sat there, dazed and confused as to what just happened. Was that the end of our relationship? The beginning of the end?

I never had the chance to ask him where he disappeared off to for that week. I should’ve asked him that first, what kind of a lover am I?
But then again I wouldn’t have had the chance anyway, he immediately shot me such a hostile question that could’ve resulted into nothing but an argument...after all, we’re both incredibly hot headed.

My heart ached upon remembering that second part of the conversation.
It shouldn’t have mattered whether YunHo’s dick was hot or cold, it shouldn’t have mattered whether YunHo was in human or vampire form, I was supposed to love him for who he was. Heck, it wasn’t that bad being embraced by a vampire YunHo, although at first it would feel cold later on it always felt...hot.

Actually it was his fault to assume that I had been cheating behind his back, what happened to our trust?
Just what the fuck happened to his mind when he was gone..?

The piercing on my neck burned, I had forgotten its existence, I had forgotten that we were bounded.

[ Jung YunHo P.O.V. ]

What has gotten into me?

Out of frustration my left fist pounded against an old rusted door of an unused locker, leaving a dent behind. Normally my fist wouldn’t hurt, not when I’m in this form, but for some bizarre reason, it ached.

I hated changing back and forth between my human and vampire form without any notice. It clearly wasn’t the potion’s fault, YooChun never had any issues. So what’s wrong with me?

“How are the changes? Detoxifying yourself well?”

Oh WonBin.

“Detoxifying?” I glowered, “How is changing back and forth between human and vampire considered as detoxifying?”

He shoved his hands into his pockets and shrugged, “Just is you know.”

Just the sight of him made me boil with anger, not only because he was potentially interested in JaeJoong but because something about him was suspicious. There’s no information about him and his background at all, as if he just came out of the blue...

He smirked, “I’m not interested in JaeJoong, just the snake prince.”

He read my mind? The bastard could read my mind? Was he a vampire as well? No...his skin tone was too warm to be a vampire...I could also sniff fresh warm blood from within his system. What is he?

“You don’t need to know, it’s nothing to be concerned about,” he then looked at me from head to toe, furrowing his eyebrows a bit, “just look after yourself for the time being, that’s the main concern.”

I didn’t like his calm attitude one bit.

“What, are you some kind of doctor?”

Again he smirked in amusement as if he was of a higher position than me, a fully fledged vampire.

“No, just someone who knows too much, that’s all.”

Well this was interesting.

“What exactly do you know?”

He chewed his lips before he turned and started to walk away.
Just as I was about to call him back for not answering my question, he answered, “It’s a spoiler.”

The fuck? It’s not like we’re talking about a fucking drama here.

“Oh and one thing.”

Oh maybe he’ll actually give me a proper answer now.

“Keep an eye on JaeJoong.”

Before I could question any further as to why he had already turned a corner.
I expected to hear distant footsteps slowly fading away in this empty part of the building, but once he turned that corner, the sound of footsteps ceased, as if he just stopped walking.
Hurriedly I rushed over to that corner to see nothing there, he was gone, as if he had just disappeared out of thin air upon taking this very corner.

What is he?

[ 3rd Person P.O.V. ]

The lunch bell had rung, having been turned down by JongHyun for lunch he decided to head down to the cafeteria himself. Apparently JongHyun was too tired to eat and wanted to catch up on some sleep in the garden. Clearly he couldn’t ask MinHo to accompany him to the cafeteria; whenever the lunch bell rang MinHo would always head straight to TaeMin’s class in an instant.
And he couldn’t ask SeolHwan to accompany him either, that guy already had too much on his hands.

The thought of inviting Onew did come up, however he didn’t want to give Onew too much hope, at least, not yet. Inviting him to lunch may sound like a date. He didn’t want to rush things.

Yet little did he know that Onew had always spent his time in the cafeteria with a Shim ChangMin and Choi MinHwan.

Upon the very first step into the cafeteria Key had noticed a large group of people huddling around a particular table. The chefs also appeared somewhat involved as they watched the crowd in distress, as if it happened every single day and they could do nothing about it.

Walking a bit closer he heard other students placing bets involving three names, Onew, Shim ChangMin and Choi MinHwan.

It was difficult for the weak-looking Key to get anywhere near the table to see what’s going on without using his powers in which SeolHwan had refrained him not to use for such situations.
In the end he had to randomly grab a nearby student by the shoulder and question him.

“Oh, are you new?” the student questioned with surprise in his voice, “Well they basically have an eating competition going on in here every lunch time and it’s always these three.”

Eating competition, it sure sounded like something that Onew would do...well if chicken was involved.

“This competition only started recently when that new guy came in. He was daring enough to order 50 pieces of chicken! More than what MinHwan and ChangMin would normally order! Of course the chefs had to comply since he had cash on him.”

So that’s where most of our group’s budget went to, Onew’s snacks, no wonder SeolHwan didn’t mention a thing about it. Well, it’s not like we needed to use the budget or anything for this mission, but it would’ve been nice if I had a portion of that money to spend on clothes for myself rather than Onew’s stomach...

“And with ChangMin and MinHwan being frequenters of this cafeteria no way can they let someone like him take over their food thrones!”

Key grimaced at the ridiculousness of it all before sending the student back into the crowd to continue cheering for the guy that he just betted on.

Heading over to the food counter he decided to grab lunch for himself and sit away from the center and wait till it was all over.

A minute passed and then another, soon lunch was nearing its end yet the commotion still hasn’t dispersed.

What, were they eating a proper 3 course meal or something?

Eventually the crowd made one last sound of a mix of disappointment and victory before dispersing, revealing three nauseous and groaning bodies in front of a table of almost empty trays of food.

“Well, I win again.” The middle one voiced out breathlessly while rubbing his stomach.

“Be careful not to get indigestion.” A younger one to the left commented before attempting to leave his seat to only sit back down on it again in pain, “Aw shit I jinxed myself.”

Onew just sat there staring into space, dazed before murmuring, “I would’ve won if it was chicken...not bibimbap.”

Slowly the pixie turned his head after noticing a lone blonde figure sitting all by themselves at the other side of the room.
His eyes widened with glee when he realised that it was Key, staring straight back at him, pissed.

“Key!” Onew exclaimed before hurrying over to Key’s table, leaving ChangMin and MinHwan gobsmacked that he could even move after 19 bowls of bibimbap.

“How long have you been sitting here?” Onew asked almost instantly after sitting himself comfortably next to Key.

Key scooted away a bit, wanting to keep a distance.

“Since the beginning of lunch, bored out of my mind.”

Not taking notice of the annoyance in Key’s tone Onew continued, “You don’t normally come in here, you normally have lunch with JongHyun...”

“Well I didn’t today, the idiot was too tired.” Key spat.

“Hey hey, if you ever happen to come in here again sit next to me and-”

“Watch you eat? No thank you.”

Onew’s face became sullen as Key’s abrupt statement, “actually I was hoping that you would eat with me...”

Key uncrossed his arms, feeling slightly guilty for Onew’s saddened appearance.

“Wouldn’t that be against the rules?” Key pointed out.

Onew looked up, a small smile slowly returned to his face, “No, you’re not eating the food that I’m going to compete with; I’ll treat you to a meal so you can eat while watching me compete! I think I’ll win for sure next time if you were to sit beside me!”

Key couldn’t stand the eagerness in Onew’s voice; it was far too...cute.

“I’d rather have you treat me to new clothes than food with all that money in your disposal.”

Onew continued to beam enthusiastically, “I’ll treat you to clothes too.”

A smile crept onto Key’s lips upon hearing such an offer, it made Onew grin wider.

“Deal.” Key replied.

Onew sunk against the back of the seat in bliss, “I have a cheerleader...”

Although amused by Onew’s response, Key couldn’t help but slap him on the arm for calling Key his cheerleader.
He didn’t quite officially belong to anyone...yet.
