We laid there in each others arms for God knows how long…I grew so tired that I almost fell asleep, I am a half blood after-all…
The words that Henry last spoken to me kept echoing throughout my mind repeatedly, the echo wouldn’t go away, neither would the happy smile embedded on my face.
I felt his fingers play around with my hair as time passed by, sniffing it every couple of seconds, sometimes kissing it gently with his soft lips. It felt like as if he was melting me slowly.
His creamy white skin on his chest was being drawn on by my dainty fingers, I made sure not to pleasure him by my light touches. I was too tired to be fucked again.
“Henry…” I said softly to his chest.
“Mn?” he replied as I felt his chest vibrate.
“How long have you loved me for?” I asked curiously.
Seriously, I did wonder when he began to start liking me. Was it just today that he realised? Or was it days before?
He shifted his body a bit so that his face faced mines as his hands began to stroke my jaw line.
“Hmn…let’s see, I can’t remember to be honest…” he said teasingly as he chewed on his lips in thought, “It could’ve been weeks ago…”
Weeks ago? Then…why did he wait until now to tell me? Or was he the type who was afraid of confessing, who knew Henry had this side to him…it’s…cute.
Or maybe he was waiting for the right time like to this confess to me, being the sadist he was, leaving things to very last minute, to the climax.
“Oh, do you remember that time…in the forest after we walked out of my house?” he spoke.
I nodded my head without a word.
“Do you remember what happened after we did it?”
My cheeks began to blush slightly at the recollection of what we did that time, and what he told me to do; topping him for once. But hey at least I topped him now!
Anyway, I can remember clearly what happened after, I laid there wide awake in guilt and sorrow as he slept next to me, muttering some foreign language that I had a very strong feeling that it was related to me.
And so, I nodded once again.
“Did you find out what I said?”
I froze slightly, how did he know that I was trying to find out what he said in his sleep? No wait, how did he know that I was listening to him?
He noticed my stiff body before he chuckled, amused.
“Pabo, you should’ve known that vampires don’t sleep.”
Oh I’m such an idiot…
“So, now you know that I was definitely directing what I said to you. It was fun doing that.” he laughed.
I pouted angrily at him, making him notice it and hug me in his arms once again, yet he was still laughing, but more gently this time. Did I amuse him that much?
“Anyway, did you translate it yet? I saw the Cantonese, Mandarin and translation books on the floor earlier today back in school. You must’ve done most of the translating by now.”
I was too embarrassed now to tell him that the only thing I managed to translate loosely was Li Xu was my name in Mandarin, why, thank you and friend. I was never good with languages, I was only ever good at maths.
“I translated some…” I murmured.
He laughed again as he pulled away a bit to face me again with a big smile on his face, amused as ever.
“Want me to tell you what I said?”
I nodded.
“Well, you said that you were sorry, remember?” he said as he rubbed my nose adorably against mines with the cutest expression on his face ever, “In Cantonese I said; It’s actually me who should be saying sorry to you. It’s my fault, it’s my fault that I pulled you into this. I don’t want you to suffer in pain, but you have something that I really admire about you. Why do you love me? Why did you choose me? I don’t deserve you. Thank you for caring about me, you were my very first friend, did you know that?” he then took a deep breath, “RyeoWook…I love you.”
I felt butterflies flutter around in my stomach, my face heated, and my heart began to pound against my chest.
I couldn’t believe that he said all that, just weeks before today. Why did he have to tell me now…it left me wondering for weeks…he really is a sadist. Stupid Henry…
But, those words, if only he said that to me directly my life would’ve been complete then. Well, my life is now, he confessed that he liked me and even added on this detailed bit. Oh, I can die happy now Henry…all because of you…You’re so sweet, cute, loveable and caring to me now that I just die from receiving all of it.
“I didn’t know why I mumbled that to you, maybe I was drunk. I can’t remember. But from that moment I began to fall for you, slowly. I wasn’t sure after muttering to you that I loved you, that’s why you didn’t turn vampire when I kissed you days ago before leaving.” he said as he ran his hands through his hair, “But, when I left for Seoul, to sign that God damn contract, before I could sign my name I began to think of you, you came across my mind. It was then that I realised that I loved you, I couldn’t be with Katie for the rest of my life and love her like I do with you. And so I scribbled over the contract and shredded it to pieces.”
He shredded the contract to pieces? Oh Henry you rebel…Maybe that’s why his dad looked like he was about to eat me up today…
“And, I talked about you to Katie, she understood and let me be with you. However, our parents weren’t pleased at all, no matter how many times we tried convincing them, Katie sure is a wonderful girl…”
He then noticed my unsure eyes when he called her wonderful.
“Of course, I’d choose you over her any day.”
A smile the widened across my face as I hugged onto him.
“And, it was true that I couldn’t practice properly without you by my side. You were after all my drug, my energy to keep me going in life. Without you I was nothing but an empty shell with no sense of music. I couldn’t read music notations, play beautifully on the violin as I did before or dance properly. So, if you leave, so will the music and passion in my life.”
His hands gripped onto my arms so tightly as he said this, his eyes looked pleadingly down onto mines, and his lips seemed to tremble a bit.
“RyeoWook-ah, I’m sorry for causing you pain all this time. It was just that I was angry and confused that someone would be interested in me, I was always the isolated kind…especially when I found out that you were a half blood, I’m sorry that I couldn’t accept you for being that then!” his voice shook as tears began to fall from his eyes, the first time I saw him make tears, beautiful tears, “I’ll make up for it now, I’ll turn you into a full blood soon, just tell me when you’re ready. I don’t want you to leave me, I don’t want you to be bullied by others like me for what you are. Let’s be together forever.”
My hands began to grip onto my chest, trying to stop my heart pounding so hard.
This was the most touching thing I ever heard. For once in my life, I was loved by the one person that truly hated me from the very beginning. And now, his cold appearance seemed to be faded away all because of me, his hard outer shell has been softened by me, I can tell. I melted the ice around him to reveal the mochi that had been waiting for years to sniff the fresh air again.
“I promise that I’ll always be by your side when I turn into a full.” I smiled happily.
Tears began to flow down my cheeks as well, we were both crying of happiness.
It was possible after all for a full blood common vampire to fall for a half blood.
Anything was possible in this world for the hopeless.
Anything.

You know what I find weird?
Sitting in this school’s cafeteria for the first time ever, in the middle among other humans.
The cafeteria didn’t even look like the one back in my old school.
This one was double the size of my old one, the walls painted wine red with many paintings hung on them, ranging from Van Gogh to Picasso. There were gold rimmed seats with leather or velvet seating. Perfectly polished ornate looking tables that fitted 10 chairs around it.
In the middle of it all was a kitchen with no walls, letting everyone in the canteen to see what the probably 5 star chefs were cooking up. Letting the smell of steak and other gourmets waft past our noses freely.
It surely made Seoul High’s prestigious posh rich school look like a tramp’s get together eating place.
“So…tell me about the whole…run away from JunSu thing…” I said as my head span around the entire room, still scanning everything in sight.
“Well,” EunHyuk began as he fiddled his fingers on the table top, “The thing is, JunSu is now a vampire.”
I stopped looking around the room now to face my friends across the table.
“He is NOW a vampire? So…was he human before or something?”
EunHyuk and DongHae nodded in time with each other.
I could hear the rest of the guys fighting for the food at the middle of the room, because today was buffet day, the chefs didn’t make much since they knew that most of the pupils in the school were out on trips. Makes me wonder if the school staff knows about vampires…
“You avoid him because he’s now a vampire?” I suggested.
They nodded.
“He was my childhood best friend…every since diapers.” EunHyuk stated timidly, “DongHae then joined into our friendship in kindergarten.”
No wonder JunSu looked sad whenever these two ran away from him. His best friends were now treating him like a dangerous stranger because of his status as an ex-human vampire. Even I would feel depressed by it…Poor JunSu.
Hold on, since when did I have pity in me? Oh fuck it.
I can’t blame these guys for avoiding JunSu now though, it’s obvious that they would be scared to go anywhere near their friend now that they’re a vampire that can potentially kill them.
“Right, some off the topic questions. Do the staff here know vampire exists? And,” I turned out to point at the ill patients, KyuHyun and SungMin standing next to each other calmly unlike the others, taking food into their plates with all the time in the world, “What are they?”
“Many of the staff know, some don’t because they’re new. Older ones are more likely to know.” DongHae explained as he played around with an apple in his hands, “Some staff members here are vampires themselves. The head of the school, the vice…well to be honest most of the Korean ones and a few Japanese and foreign ones.”
I gulped suddenly. The images of my foreign teachers popped into mind.
“Is Keita Tachibana a vampire?”
If my vocal teacher is a vampire, I’m going to have to reject his kind offer of teaching me to sing quickly. I didn’t really pay attention to his skin colour, or Ryuichi’s and Ryohei’s.
“No, he’s human, he’s not even pale. Then again, Japanese men are known for their natural beauty and almost pale complexions so it’s had to tell.” he said as he placed his apple back onto the try, “And don’t worry, Yamapi and Kame sensei aren’t vampires.”
Thank God for that.
“Is there anything else you guys need to tell me about this school? Like…if there are ghosts, werewolves demons and such as well?” my eyed widened as many supernatural things began to pop in my mind.
Oh God, it sounds like everything I read from horror books and watched from movies is now coming to life. I bet I would be Shaun soon from Shaun of the dead…I better get a baseball or cricket bat soon to fend myself off soon.
And maybe set up trap devise around my house so no one massacres me during my sleep.
Or even better, I can flee from this stupid dangerous place and go back to good old safe Seoul.
“Well, as far as we know, only vampires, half bloods and humans are attending this school. Since it seems that the entire village is mostly made up of vampires.”
“Half bloods?”
EunHyuk pointed a finger at SungMin and KyuHyun.
“Those two are clear examples. Anyone you see that don’t look as pale as vampires are most likely half bloods.” EunHyuk stated.
“How many are there in this school?”
“There are three, SungMin, KyuHyun and RyeoWook.”
Ah, that clumsy kid is one of them.
“Half bloods are known to be less stronger than vampires, they can get weak and tired easily, and they’re not as strong as humans and vampires.” ChangMin suddenly spoke.
The three of us turned to look at him.
His head was down as he stared emotionlessly at his food. It was such a weird sight, by now he would’ve finished that plate of food, even the sight of food made him happy.
Why isn’t he smiling either?
Has he turned back to that ChangMin I saw yesterday after seeing that girl?
“Then explain SungMin.” I pointed out.
I noticed SungMin spin his head around at that moment to flash a glare at me.
“His father was an aristocrat that fell for a human, his mother. Aristocrat’s are stronger than normal vampires…Vampires are ranked from low to high, half blood, common vampire, aristocrat to pure. Half bloods have parents that one is vampire and the other is human. Common vampire are just every day vampire, normal, nothing special. Aristocrat’s are fairly close to the Royal family bloodline, their powers are high. But pure blood’s powers are even higher, their extremely close to Royal family bloodlines.” ChangMin continued to explain in a dulled tone, “Half blood are lowest because their powers aren’t as great. Yet, if one of their parent is a pure or aristocrat, they can possess similar powers as a common, but that’s all.”
“SHUT YOUR TRAP SHIM!” SungMin shouted from the middle of the room as he threateningly pointed the metal thongs gripping on to a piece of cabbage in his hands.
“Calm down.” KyuHyun said calmly as he pulled SungMin’s arm back.
Wow, who knew Lee SungMin was a half blood. The lowest out of the hierarchy, hah, now I have something to tease him about. Splendid!
I can’t believe that one of his parents isn’t a rabbit though, he sure looked like one. He looks nowhere near like a threatening vampire. I wonder if he has fangs to go along weirdly with his set of buck teeth.
“Half bloods don’t have fangs.” ChangMin said in the same tone as if he read my mind.
Damn, I really wanted to see what it looked like!
“Anyway, to put it simply. There are only three half bloods in here and seven humans including you. One ex-human, JunSu. The student body are the aristocrats, and the rest of the school are commons, minus out the staff. And one pure blood, Jung YunHo.”
Whoa, ChangMin the brain box. I didn’t know he knew all this behind that once cheerful looking side of him. He knew more deeper darker secrets than me…
But wait, Jung YunHo, the pureblood? Shit no wonder he can do all those things to me! He’s like the bloody leader of the pack!
“Well, as I said before, do werewolves, ghosts and zombies exist?” I asked.
“Yes.”
Okay, so I do need to re-watch horror movies now where an invasion of attacking zombies occur to get ideas of how to survive.
“ChangMin, you forgot about the curse.” HanKyung said as he sat himself next to me.
ChangMin looked up to raise an eyebrow. This was the first sign of life I saw on him for the first time in hours! His face finally moved!
“Aren’t you guy capable enough to tell him that? I already contributed lots.” his voice risen by a pitch now.
“But ChangMin, you were always the one who help guided the new guys about our school.” JaeJin said with a smirk as he sat next to ChangMin, nudging him.
“Yah, you’re as smart as me, go tell him yourself.” ChangMin said in an annoyed tone.
“No you!” JaeJin nudged him one more time, “Or we’ll expose those pictures-”
“FINE!” ChangMin hissed.
Pictures? I wonder what pictures haha.
“The curse is that, when two partners share mutual feelings and kiss within the school campus, one of them change into either human or vampire. If it’s vampire and human, the human will turn vampire. Vampire and half blood, half blood will turn full vampire. Half blood and human, half blood will turn human. The school is a hotspot for half bloods to come here and turn into either human or vampire, since half bloods die earlier at the age of 18.”
That’s scary, they die at 18?
My eyes shifted at SungMin’s direction, who sat tables away from us, glaring at our group.
Haha, this bastard is going to die soon.
“You don’t need to be a student here to turn, you can just hop over the gates, kiss and turn. However, when girls are involved in the curse, things change.” ChangMin’s voice then grew darker, “If any girl comes into this school and kisses someone, no matter what you were, you will turn human. The girl wouldn’t turn into anything herself, she would either remain human, half blood or vampire.”
Poor half blood girls…looks like there’s no hope for them…I bet they’re hot looking too.
“What if two half bloods kiss?” I questioned.
“Neither would change, it’s useless.”
What a shame. I do hope SungMin don’t find true love or find true love with another half blood. I sound mean don’t I?
I’m still trying to get over what he done to me yesterday.
I noticed how ChangMin’s hands were now balled to fists, his knuckles white. Why was he so angry?
“Whoa ChangMin, breath.” JaeJin said worriedly as he stroked ChangMin’s back.
Was ChangMin choking? Or did he have some illness that I didn’t know about, causing him to have mood swings.
“What’s with him?” I asked EunHyuk.
“It’s not in our place to say.” he replied before returning back to his food.
“I’m guessing JunSu got turned into a vampire because of YooChun eh?” I assumed.
Suddenly, I felt cold air fill the room, a vampire was back.
“Bingo.” I heard JunSu chirp as he seemed to float next to me.
I jerked upwards to see him, his face looking pale under the warm sunlight shining through the windows, his black cloak over him still from the other night. Why is he back?
“Glad to see you’re safe JaeJoong.” he smiled warmly, “Oh and don’t worry, the nasty zombire’s are too weak at the moment to do anything at the moment, well most of them that is, there are still some on the loose, but I’m here to protect you along with Chunnie!”
He surely did not sound or act like a vampire. His personality was too human to be a vampire.
How did he end up falling for a vampire anyway?
