Dear Diary,
Tomorrow's my BIG day, the last day of school. You don't know how excited I must be. Not only does this means it's the beginning of the summer vacation, it also means I'm leaving this horrible school very soon. No more name callings and no one will ever make fun of me again!
I hate it when they guys call me 'Smarty Pants.' Just because I A's all my test, quizzes and homeworks doesn't necessarily means that they have to make fun of me. Second, everyone loves to call me "TP," short for 'Teachers' Pet.' I just like to help Ms. Chan out with all the school work during lunch. Why do all the kids there have to pick on me? Glad that I'm leaving this miserable school soon. I'm heading for a new life and one of the best high schools in Hong Kong!

Everyone were still sleeping as the clock ticked away. Tifany turned in her bed she shared with Gillian, and, "SMACK," she landed her left leg on Gillian's face. Gillian say up and cursed at her sister.
Gill :God D*mn you, Tiff! (She grabbed her Miffy alarm clock, which was on her desk next to her bed.) Oh dear Lord! (yelled at the top of her lung) Dereck, Jen. Get up! It's 7:05 already!
3 pairs of feet began to run up and down the hall. Gillian put toothpaste on her toothbrush when she got into the only bathroom in their house 3 seconds before JEn and Dereck got there. Gillian left to pack Tiffany's stuff in her bedroom while trying very hard not to spill any toothpaste on the stuff as she brushed her teeth there. As usual, no matter how hard she tried, she still spilled some toothpaste on Tiffany's stuff. After Dereck and Jen left to change into their uniform, Gillian went in and rinsed her mouth. Then, Jenny poped into the bathroom as Gill washed her face.
Jen : Gill? Do you remember where I put my yearbook last night?
Gill: The one you showed me last night? (Jenny with her eyes wide opened, hoping Gillian would tell her about it, nodded) I told you to put it on the table so you'll remember today.
Jen : I don't want Tiffany to ruin it.
Gill: You put it under Dereck's pillow, remember?
Jen : Ph yeah! (hugged Gill as Gill walked out of the bathroom) Love'ya Sis!
There were chaos in the house as the Shing's prepare for their last day of school, and it took them 10 minutes for them to leave the house. They first dropped Tiffany off at Mrs. Wong's house on floor 10 flat C, the Shings lived on floor 15 flat A. The bus pulled into the lane as Gillian and her two younger siblings got to the bus stop.)

Gillian laid her head on her table as her classmates went around the school to get their yearbook signed. "What a boring day," Gillian thought. "should've just skip school today."

Gillian was at Jen's school with Dereck, helping her with all the crafts she made and kept at her school by her teachers.
Jen: I'm so excited, Gill. I'm going to be in 4th grade next year. I'll be in middle school in 2 years.
Dereck: Jen, mind me if I throw some of your trash in this bag away into the garbage can?
Jen: They're not trash, Dereck! You're just jealous that all the things I made were kept by the teachers!
Gill: Please, you two. Can we get going?
The three of them went to the bus stop and waited for the bus to pull into the stop.

Gillian read a note her mom left on the fridge out loud:
Grandpa wants the tive of you to have dinner with him tonight. Be there as soon as you can so you can help him out. Please don't any later than 7:00 pm. -Mom
Jen: Yay! We're goign over to Pop's house again!
Dereck: We've been practically there veryday this month, Gill. Can't you just tell mom that we rather stay home and have you cook us dinner?
Gill: You know that mom doesn't like it any more than Pop does. Pop likes u s for his company. He's lonely, Dereck, after Grandmommy past away this January. (Dereck pouted and began to walk into his room) You two get ready to go while I go pick up Tiff, ok?
Jen & Dereck : K!

Gillian and her grandpa were preparing dinner for the Shings and Gillian's third uncle's family in the kitchen. Gillian put one of the dishes down as Michelle closed the front door.
Pop: Who is it, Gillie?
Gill: It's only cousin Micheller, Pop!
Michelle: Hello Pop! (walked up to Gill's place and stole a piece of sweet and sour pork from the dish as she whispered teasingly into Gillian's ear) Gillie? When did you got that name?!
Gill: Oh, Shut up! I'm pretty sure he's gonna come up with a better name for you, Mich.
Michelle stuck her tongue out at Gillian and manged to steal another piece of pork out from the dish as Gillian walked back into the kitchen.
Gill: Need anymore things, Pop?
Pop: Nah. Why don't you look after your sibs, Gill, and call your mom to see if she's coming or your Aunt Angela is gonna give some words for you to hear. I'll tell you when I need help.
Gill: Alright, Pop.
Gillian left the kitchen.
Pop: Your mom got you as her daughter is the happiness she could ever get, Gill.
Gillian got Tiffany and Jenny into her youngest uncle's room and called her mom.
Angela: Bet her mom is going to make us wait for her another 30 minutes before she shows up. Just like last time. She'll probably be asking for money again.
Bobby: Don't you say anything like this during dinner. My sister worked very hard to keep her family together during this rough time. She helped us when we're tough times. We can't leave her alone to ake care her things when she needed help the most.
Aunt Angela walked away as Gillian pushes Tiffany and Jenny out of her uncle's room. Bobby pulled Gillian aside as she placed the phone back to it's place and stuffed several hundreds of dollar bills into Gillian's jacket's pocket.
Gill: (gasphed) Uncle Bobby!
Bobby: Hush, girl.
Gill: But ... You can't do this. You already gave me some last week. You know Aunt Angela doesn't like it.
Bobby: Just don't you say any more thing about it. Ok?
Gill: But...
Bobby: No but's now.
Just then Pop came out of the kitchen with the last dish.
Pop: Dinner Time! Gill, help me get the soup out.
Bobby: Go, help Pop, now, Gill.
Gill: (teary eyes now) Thanks, Uncle Bobby.
Gillian dashed into the kitchen and wiped away her tears while she poured the soup into the bowls from the pot.Bobby and Angela sat together at the table.
Angela: How much this time.
Boby: Not much that you would care.
Angela: If you're giving it to her, I CARE! Every week you give her money. HAve you given me my allowance this week?! No. Not ever since you gave her money as allowance! Why do I have to give my money to her?
Bobby: Gillian is a good girl. I'm just giving her something she can't get from her parents. She's just like another daughter to me.
Angela: (turned away) Not to me!
**
In the Kitchen...
Pop: What's wrong, Gillie?! (Gllian looked away) Did Bobby gave you money again?
Gill: Oh, Pop! (hugged Pop) I don't know what to do, Pop! Aunt Angela will hate me even more!
Pop: She can't do much to you. Can't she? I'll make sure that.

They were all at the dinner table with Gillian sitting between JEnny and Tiffany and Dereck at Jenny's side. Pop sitting at one end of the rectangular table with the Shings on one side and the Yip's on the other.
Michelle: Gillian, you're going to be in my high school next school year, right? Our school is one of the toughest to get in y'know. Way to go, Gill-ie.
Gill: (face turned read) Mich!
Mich: (winked at Dereck) With your sister in our high school, you've got one foot in this school already.
Angela: Michelle, you sure you didn't sweet-talked the principal in letting Gillian into your high school?
Dereck: My sister got in because she got this (pointed to his brain.)
Pop: (banged the table) Angela, are you trying ti imply something here? (she muttered, "No, Pop.") Now, Dereck, that's no way to talk to your elders.
Bobby: Let's eat now.
Angela: So, where's your mom today, Gillian? Trying to scrap some money from some where so the four of you won't starve to death?
Mich: Mom!
Pop: (smashed his hand against the table once again) Angela, I do not wish to hear any rude comments from your mouth again tonight. Now, let's eat before the dishes turned cold.
They all are dinner in silence. None of the Shings dared to look up at the other side. They only ate from the veggie dish.
