Thinking that it was San cai wanting to hug her for the very last time, Xiao you immediately turned her back. But when she saw who it was, a tear again fell from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. It was the least expected person to appear. As the person ascends towards her, her heart started to beat erratically.
BACK AT THE GANG
The gang saw everything that happened since the person who called Xiao you passed by them and run immediately to catch her before she could even give her passports to the attendants. Lei, Ah si and Mei Zhuo started jumping for joy as they saw who it was. The girls just smiled excitedly with them.
Mei Zhuo: I knew it! I knew it!!
Xiao qao: you knew what?
Mei Zhuo: that my boy wouldn’t disappoint me.. way to go!!
Lei: good thing.. he’s feelings and emotions still prevails..
BACK AT XIAO YOU’S.
Tears were now flowing endlessly in Xiao you cheeks as the person halted his walk when he was just a few inches away from her.
Ximen: hi!
Xiao you smiled weakly at him.
Xiao you: hi!
Ximen: I wanted to see you before you leave.. I maybe late.. but better late than never right?
Xiao you let out a small laugh.
Ximen: So you’re really leaving?
Xiao you nodded.
Ximen: sorry if it has to be this way.. I never really intended for this to happen..
Xiao you: don’t be sorry.. It’s not your fault.. There’s nobody to blame.. This things happen.. We can’t really prevent them.. Besides, we didn’t expect this to happen.. we didn’t foresee this thing coming.. and maybe they really happen for a reason.. And maybe the reason behind it is that maybe God wanted us to move on.. and to grow..
But before Xiao you could continue what she was supposed to say, Ximen cuts her.
Ximen: for us to grow what? To grow apart? To grow on our own? To grow in our own separate ways?
Xiao you just let out a sigh.
Ximen: but what if we were given a chance to know?
Xiao you: then good.. but unfortunately, we can’t so let’s just stick to that..
Ximen: but what if?
Xiao you: what if what?
Ximen: What if I told you that I need you and ask you to stay and not leave? Will you still stay?
Xiao you let out a big sigh as tears continued to flow down her eyes.
Xiao you: I’ve been waiting for that question to pop.. I’ve been waiting for you to ask me that question.. For two days.. I ‘ve been longing to hear that.. Because I told myself that if ever you’ll ask me that question.. I’ll be willing to quit my job in Canada and just stay here in Taipei and be with you.. I don’t care if they’ll sue me or what.. Just as long as I’m here with you.. I know I’ll be safe.. I’ll be protected and I’ll be happy.. But you see, Ximen.. That was two days ago.. I have already made up my mind.. and I can’t turn back now.. I’ve decided to leave and stay in Canada.. That’s final and official.. You played your part in helping me decide.. That’s when you cancelled the forfeiting of my contract.. That’s how I decided to leave.. you said it yourself.. I don’t belong here anymore.. I don’t belong here any longer.. so I’m going.. I’m going back to my life.. my painless and peaceful life back there.. and to answer your question before on why I ‘m so eager to go back to Canada because according to you someone’s waiting for me there.. yeah.. I’m eager to go back because someone is really waiting for me to come home.. That person misses me terribly.. and can’t wait to see me.. I can’t wait to see her too.. We can’t wait to see each other because we haven’t seen each other for five and a half months now.. and you know who that is?
Ximen shake his head.
Xiao you: that person is my mother.. She’s so eager to see me and I’m so eager to see her.. I’m sorry Ximen If I have to do this.. and leave.. you see, I have to be strong.. so that I could finally move on.. and I have to be strong not only for my mom but also for myself.. I’m proud to say that I’m stronger now.. That’s because of you.. You taught me how to be strong.. And I guess if it wasn’t for all those strength.. I wouldn’t have the courage to face you here.. I would not talked to you.. But I’m here and I’m talking to you.. Though my knees are wobbling.. And I’m starting to fidget..
Ximen smiled weakly at her.
Xiao you: thank you for making me strong, Ximen.. you sure taught me a lot in my life.. you not only taught me how to be strong but you also taught me how to enjoy life to the fullest… Enjoy the simplest pleasure this world has to offer and most specially you taught me how to love unconditionally.. Thank you for that.. I’ll treasure all of them.. And I also want to thank you..
Xiao you then stopped. Ximen was listening closely anticipating her answer.
Ximen: for what?
Xiao you: for loving me and accepting me for who I am.. And for the five and a half blissful month that we shared together..
Xiao you sighed and smiled afterwards.
Xiao you: Though I’m leaving.. I still don’t want you to skip your meals.. eat your meals daily.. And regularly.. Take your vitamins twice a day.. Don’t work yourself too much.. don’t drown yourself from too much paper works.. don’t be such a pain on the neck to your mother.. And lastly…make sure to enjoy your life.. You deserve to be happy..
Xiao you wiped her tears with the back of her palms. Ximen was just looking at her. It was then that one of the attendants interrupted the two.
Attendant: we’re about to close the gate.. Are you still boarding in?
Xiao you nodded at the attendant. She then returned her gaze at Ximen, who was now staring at her.
Xiao you: well! I guess this is it.. This is the part were we bid good bye.. Thank you Ximen.. And good bye..
Ximen let out a big sigh.
Ximen: Bye..
It was then that Xiao you offered her hands for him to shake. Ximen stared at her hands first and took it afterwards. He held her hand so tightly as if not wanting to let it go. This is their good bye and he won’t settle for only a hand shake. He wanted to kiss and hug her so badly. She feels the same way too. But unfortunately, they can’t for Xiao you have to go. So she let go of his hands and turned his back on him. Xiao you showed her passport to the attendant and started to walk away from him, away from their love. On the way, Xiao can’t control her emotions anymore so she burst into tears. Ximen on the other hand just bowed his head down after he sees her retreating form.
