When they got in, cathy the waitress attended to their orders. All the time, the lady just kept on fanning Ximen’s mom to keep her from hyperventilating. After Cathy brought their orders, the lady assisted Ximen’s mom to her car.
Ximen’s mom: thanks again for saving my “butt” their..
Lady: always my pleasure..
Ximen’s mom: your mother must be so proud of you..
Lady: yeah! She is..
Ximen’s mom: I would really love to have you as my daughter..
Lady: thanks for the compliment madam.. I don’t think you friend is coming?
Ximen’s mom: oh! I told her to just meet me at my house.. anyway thanks again..
Lady: no problem..
Ximen’s mom: by the way what’s your name?
Before she could answer, her phone rang..
Lady: madam… I need to go… they’re calling me now…they really need me back in the office.. you take care of yourself ok? I might not be there to save you again… so please take an extra care of yourself.. I’ll see you around bye..
Ximen’s mom: I will.. but what’s?
And again even before she could continue her question, the lady disappeared.
Ximen’s mom: I wonder what her name is?
Chauffeur: she looks familiar madam..
Ximen’s mom: she is?
Chauffeur: I guess.. I don’t quite remember where I saw her?
Ximen’s mom: maybe on t.v… she’s perfect for a model… she’s so beautiful right?
Chauffeur: yeah!
Ximen’s mom: anyway.. let’s go home.. my friend is waiting for me back home..
Chauffeur: ok madam..
INSIDE JING’S CAR
They stopped by a Japanese restaurant to order for some food. Since Xiao qao is all wet she decided to stay in the car. So Jing went inside the restaurant all by herself. Xiao qao was reading a pregnancy book when a mobile phone rang. She first looked at her phone checking if it was ringing. When she saw that it wasn’t hers, she grab jing’s bag, opened it and searched for her phone. When she finally got it, she answered the phone.
Xiao qao: wei! Lei!
lei: xiao qao? Where’s jing?
Xiao qao: oh! She just went out to buy some food..
Lei: oh! Is that so?!
Xiao qao: but don’t worry she’ll be back any minute now..
Lei: you’re not with her?
Xiao qao: I’m inside her car.. I spilled my chocolate drink on my dress earlier and now my dress is all wet so she just asked me to stay behind.. do you want to leave a message?
Lei: no.. I just want to know on where you girls are?
Xiao qao: we’re on our way home.. liked I said earlier we just dropped by Teriyaki boy restaurant to take out some food..
Lei: oh! So you guys are there?
Xiao qao: uh! Yeah? Didn’t I mention it to you already?
It was then that jing opened the door, got in and place their food at the back. Xiao qao handed her the phone.
Xiao qao: it’s lei..
Jing: thanks! Wei lei!
Lei: where are you girls?
Jing: we’re on our way home.. didn’t I just sent you an SMS informing you that we’re on our way home
Lei: remember what I told you jing..
Jing: ok..ok.. I get it.. we’ll be there in five minutes..
Lei: good.. see you later.. bye..
Jing: bye.. I love you..
Lei: I love you too.. bye..
Jing hung up the phone and placed it back on her bag.
Xiao qao: what was that all about?
Jing: oh! Nothing.. let’s go?
Xiao qao: ok..
After jing buckled her seat belt, they set off. After five minutes, Xiao qao who was still reading her book didn’t noticed that they stopped. It was only when a phone rang that she noticed it.
Xiao qao: why did we stop?
Jing: I don’t know.. traffic I guess..
Xiao qao: hey! I think your phone is ringing..
Jing: oh! yeah!
Jing got her phone from her bag and answered it.
Jing: lei?
Lei: where are you?
Jing: we’re on our way home..
Lei: where exactly?
Jing: HERE… as in HERE… Chang drive..
Lei: oh! Ok.. bye..
Then she hung up the phone.
Xiao qao: what was that all about?
Jing: nothing.. you know lei.. he can be so irritating at times..
Xiao qao: at least lei calls you and asked on where you are but mei zhuo.. I haven’t heard from him since when? Now I don’t even remember..
Jing just smiled sheepishly at her.
They have been on the same spot for the last 10 minute or so because of the traffic. Xiao qao was starting to get cranky because of her wet dress. Jing on the other hand was just at ease and very calm for she knows what was causing the traffic. She can’t help but smile once in a while for that certain reason
Xiao qao: what is causing this traffic?
Jing: there’s no bottleneck but still so traffic.. maybe there was an accident or something.. (trying to sound ignorant)
Xiao qao: I really want to change.. my legs are having goosebumps already because of the wet parts.
Jing: here! Place my jacket on top of your lap so that you won’t feel cold..
Jing handed the denim jacket to Xiao qao.
Xiao qao: thanks jing.. what is causing this traffic?
Jing: yeah! (still trying to look ignorant)
Then xiao qao’s phone rang but she doesn’t seem to notice it for she was busy fixing her dress.
Jing:hey! I think your phone is ringing.
Xiao qao: could you answer it for me? I’ll just fix this jacket..
Jing: ok.. wei! (answering the phone)
Mei zhuo: jing? Where’s xiao qao?
Jing handed the phone to xiao qao.
Xiao qao: who is this? (answering the phone) wei!
Mei zhuo: hi baby!
Xiao qao: mei zhuo! Why did you call just now? where are you? Don’t you know that I’ve been waiting for your call since yesterday and these morning but no there’s no call.. how come???!!! You of all people know what I’m going through right now,, but you’re not here with me.. you said that you’re really concern with my condition and you want my pregnancy to be a smooth sailing one but look what you’re causing me.. I might loose our baby because you make me worry.. and.. and..
Mei zhuo: so you’re finish?
Xiao qao: not yet..
Mei zhuo: before you continue with your litany.. look up!
Xiao qao: what?
Mei zhuo: look up!
Xiao qao: are you crazy?
Mei zhuo: open your window and look up..
Xiao qao did as what she was told. She opened her window and look up. Her eyes were now wandering on what Mei zhuo was trying to imply when she saw something that made her awe-struck. In line with the billboards on the busy street of Taiwan, she saw her personally made billboard. It was a picture of her and Mei zhuo during San cai’s wedding. She was in her gown while he was in his tux. Xiao qao couldn’t contain her tears any longer when she read the heading of the billboard.

Jing on the other hand, can’t control her smile anymore so she giggled harder. Xiao qao was still in tear when she saw mei zhuo walking towards them. He was in his office attire minus the black suite. He was holding on a bouquet of white roses. What stunned Xiao qao more is his new haircut. It was now shorter still with wavy edges which he asked to be styled (a/n: imagine his new haircut in star runner, Yamaha commercial and the latest MTV Asia AWARDS, sorry I don’t really know how to describe his haircut)
When he reached their car, he opened the door for her and gave the flowers. Xiao qao who was still seating was appalled on what is happening. Mei zhuo wiped her tears and then got something from his slacks pocket. He then knelt down and showed her a small velvet box. Xiao qao couldn’t move a single finger so mei zhuo just removed the ring from the box and started to put it on her finger.
Mei zhuo: so that I can assure you that I’ll always be here for you.. this will be my proof that you’ll have a smooth sailing pregnancy and a smooth sailing life.. a future with me?
Xiao qao just smiled at him. Then she started to get out of the car not minding her soaked dress seen by a number of people in Taiwan.
Mei zhuo: will you marry me?
Xiao qao held his hands, pulled him up and hugged him.
Xiao qao: yes! I want a future with you..
Again not minding the number of eyes staring at them, Mei zhuo kissed her.
