As soon as Ximen and Xiao you got back from the airport, Ximen parked his car at the Dao Ming Mansion temporarily. They have been seating at the car for the past ten minutes or so, in silence. Ever since the two saw each other that afternoon, they never utter a word. Even the ride back from the airport after sending Xiao qao and Mei zhuo for their 3pm flight, they never had any exchange of words. They would just glance at each other uneasily. Meanwhile San cai was curious on where Xiao you is. Since they arrived at the same time, Xiao you hasn’t entered the Mansion. So she went out along with Ah si to check on where she might be. As soon as she saw that Ximen’s car was still parked outside, she immediately walked towards it and knocked at the passenger seat’s window. Xiao you rolled the window down a she saw San cai knocking.

San cai: hey! You two!

Ah si then bent down to whisper something to his petite wife.

Ah si: I told you… they’re having some private and personal discussions.. and I’m pretty sure they won’t like to be disturbed.. Most specially not be disturbed by you..

San cai: Pighead.. (poking Ah si in the arms)

San cai then turned back to Xiao you.

San cai: So you two? Aren’t you gonna come in?

Xiao you: ummm.. maybe in a little while.. We’ll just talk in a few minutes and we’ll just follow after..

Ah si: See I told you..

San cai gave him a deadly glare and again returned to Xiao you.

San cai: Are you sure?

Xiao you: yeah! You better go in and rest San cai.. It’s not good for you to tire yourself from walking.. don’t worry we’ll follow in a short while..

San cai: ok. Suite yourselves.. by the way, I asked someone to prepare us some dinner.. so if you two are hungry.. just go straight to the dinning table.. Ah si and I we’ll wait for you two there.. ok? Ximen?

Ximen: ok..

Ah si: you better roll your window up now Xiao you or my wife will not stop bombarding you with her questions..

Xiao you just let out a small laugh as she did what she was told to do so. Xiao you then turned to Ximen. He was just staring at her. She smiled back weakly.

Xiao you: you wanna go in for dinner?

Ximen: maybe later.. I’m not hungry yet..

Xiao you: ok..

Ximen: ummm.. Is there anything wrong, Xiao you? I’m not used to this kind of silence.. We’re not like this when we’re together.. This is the first time.. You haven’t talked to me ever since we saw each other at the airport.. Is there any problem?

Xiao you shakes his head.

Ximen: then why are we like this?

Xiao you: I don’t know..

Ximen: Is this about the call?

Xiao you: maybe..

Ximen: don’t worry about it.. I already talked to my Uncle.. I explained everything to him.. and he’s willing to forfeit your five year contract with their company so that I could hire you freely.. He told me that if you already decided to stay.. then it’s ok with him.. he’s willing to sacrifice one of his best employee for my sake.. for his nephews sake.. and if you ever really decided to stay.. You would still have your old job back, plus the same amount of salary.. you’ll have your office back and everything.. not only that.. you won’t have to go back to Canada anymore.. you could stay here for good..

Xiao you just smiled weakly at him.

Ximen: so?

Xiao you: so you really called your Uncle for that? But it’s still too early in Canada?

Ximen: I know.. but this matter is so important to me.. that’s the first thing that came up to my mind when you receive the call from Mr. Ding..

Xiao you: why did you do that?

Ximen: because I don’t want you to leave.. I don’t want you to leave me.. again.. I want you to stay here in Taipei.. be with me.. Xiao you, I really don’t know what I’ll do if ever you’ll leave me.. I think I’ll go crazy..

Xiao you let out a small laugh..

Xiao you: you really know how to lighten up the mood Ximen..

Ximen grinned at her.

Ximen: so?

Xiao you: I .. I .. I don’t know..

Ximen: what do you mean you don’t know?

Xiao you: Ximen.. This is a very complicated matter.. And I want to think about everything first before I make a final decision.. you know how I hate regretting at the end.. that’s why I’m want to take everything in consideration before I finally decide on the matter..

Ximen: so you’re telling me, you’ll regret staying here with me?

Xiao you: I didn’t say that.. all I’m saying is that I want to be sure first.. to have time to think about this things first.. I need to consider everything.. My work, my family.. My life in Canada.. Going back here and staying for good.. That would be a very big change.. a big transition for my mom.. I want to hear her opinion on this matter, I wanna talk to her first before I decide.. she have a say on this also.. so please.. I want to think about this first.. I hope you understand..

Ximen: so you’re declining my offer?

Xiao you: no.. I’m asking you to give me time to think about this moving back thingy first before I could finalize everything.. I’m not declining your offer..

Ximen: but that’s what you’re trying to point out..

Xiao you: no.. That’s not what I meant..

Ximen: so is there a big chance of you leaving?

Xiao you: I can’t answer that.. Ximen.. Let me think first..

Ximen: ok.. I know this is pretty hard for you.. so yeah.. I’m giving you time to think.. but I just hope that you’ll really not leave me.. I don’t know what to do if ever you leave..

Xiao you: me either..

They both let out a big sigh.

Xiao you: let’s go in.. They’re probably waiting for us already.. I’m kinda starving.. and you Mister.. you need to eat.. you skipped breakfast and you also skipped your lunch.. so we’ll go inside and I’ll feed you..

Ximen: spoon feed?

Xiao you narrowed her eyes on him, jokingly.

Xiao you: pfftt.. dream on..

Ximen just pouted at her.

Xiao you: ok.. ok.. I’ll think about it..

Ximen pouted more.

Xiao you: ok.. you win this time.. you big baby..

Ximen just grinned at her…

XIAO YOU’S ROOM

After their wonderful dinner, Ximen and Xiao you stayed at the garden for another hour. It was already 9 in the evening when they both finally decided to call it a night. When Xiao you got inside her room, she immediately went inside the bathroom to take a shower. After taking a shower and dressing up into her pj’s, she was now ready for her deep slumber. So she instantly climbed up on her bed, fixed her pillows and lied down. She was about to close her eyes when suddenly her phone rang. Thinking that it was Ximen, she didn’t bother to look at the caller I.D to check who the caller was, she immediately answered it.

Xiao you: Wei Ximen! I’m about to sleep..

Lady: Xiao you?

When she realized that it wasn’t Ximen, she looked at the caller I.D on her phone and checked the number of the caller. The number wasn’t the usual landline number in Taiwan. It was different. But when she recognized the voice of the caller, she immediately sat up.

Xiao you: Ma?

Xiao you’s mom: yes.. how are you?

Xiao you: I’m ok.. I’m about to call you.. How are you?

Xiao you’s mom: terribly missing you..

Xiao you: I miss you too…

Xiao you’s mom: good.. Then you have to go back here as soon as possible because I really miss you.. besides your six months contract in Taipei will expire in less than two weeks.. So that means in less than two weeks you’ll be coming home..

Xiao you, whisper: but this is already my home..

Xiao you’s mom: oh! The preserve dumplings that you could only buy in Taipei.. I miss eating those things..

Xiao you: ok.. ma.. I want to talk to you about something..

Xiao you’s mom: What? Oh.. wait.. What do you want me to cook for you when you come back? You like me to cook your favorite dish?

Xiao you: what for?

Xiao you’s mom: for your come back.. since I really really miss you.. and I’m excited to see you.. I want to cook something special for your arrival.. and by the way, I also invited some of your friends.. they can’t wait to see you.. they misses you too.. so when is the exact date of your arrival?

Xiao you: I don’t know yet.. I’ll call you for that..

Xiao you’s mom: so what do you want to talk about?

Xiao you: ummm.. nothing.. I forgot..

Xiao you’s mom: you never change.. You always forget things.. so have you gain weight?

Xiao you: maybe.. I don’t know..

Xiao you’s mom: anyway, I’ll be seeing you next next week.. I’ll know if you gain weight or not..

Xiao you, weakly: yeah..

Xiao you’s mom: are you sick dear?

Xiao you: no.. I’m ok..

Xiao you’s mom: you miss your mom so much?

Xiao you: of course..

Xiao you’s mom: good.. because I really can’t wait to see you.. listen I have to go.. I still need to go to the market for our grocery.. I’ll see you soon ok?

Xiao you: ok.. love you mom..

Xiao you’s mom: I love you and I miss you dear.. bye

Xiao you: bye..

Xiao you hang up the phone and lied down again.
