Kim Hyun Joong looks at the girl right in front of him. They seldom get younger customers in the store. Most of the products they have are for professionals. They do have some few digital cameras for people who aren’t into photography much, but he was surprised about this girl. He saw her came in since no one is at the store he just went up to ask if she’s looking for something. He thought she was just curious about the cameras here and just looking around without thinking of buying anything. He was totally surprised when he asked her if she’s looking for something. She just blurted the camera that she wants without hesitation. It was the newest model of Canon Rebel Camera too. He told her that they have it and walked towards the counter to get a box of the camera. He was about to open it to show it to her when he heard her ask, “May I?” He looks up to her and hesitates a little bit. He’s not sure if he can trust her with the camera. He doesn’t know what came over him, but he ended up handing the box to the girl.
He watched her take out the camera out of the box gently. She’s handling the camera as if it’s the most fragile thing in the world. She looks around it and checked out the functions of it. He can’t avoid noticing the excitement in her eyes. She looks satisfied and put the camera in the box gently again. He was about to put the box away when he heard her say something.
“I’ll be getting that camera. Can you put it aside while I look at some lenses?” She said.
Hyun Joong just looks at her and nods. He then just follows her with his eyes as she goes around the store looking at lenses and other equipments. He then saw her jump few minutes later. He was curious, so he went up and asked her if he can help her with something. She looks at him all excited again.
“I want to get that lens.” Jayde said.
He looks at the lens and saw what she was pointing at. It’s one of the expensive lenses. He looks at her and asked. “You want that one?”
“Yes, I want the Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS. Why? Is there something wrong?” She asked.
“No, but you do know how much that is right?” He asked.
He noticed that she looks a bit offended. “Yes, I do know how much that is. I’ve been looking for that lens for a while now. It’s always out of stock online. Now, can you get that please and put it beside the camera I’m planning on buying.” She said.
He knows he offended her, but he can’t help it. How can a high school girl afford all these equipment? She doesn’t look like she’s rich with the way she’s dressed. He then noticed she went back looking at other lenses. He decided to go back to the counter and just watch her from there. Such an interesting girl he thought.

Jayde looks at her watch and saw it was already 7pm. She immediately walked towards the counter to pay for her stuff. The guy behind the counter looks up to her.
“I’m ready to pay.” She said. She saw the guy ringing up the camera and lens. She then added a couple of battery packs. Then she remembered something. “Can you add the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens?” she asked. The guy went and grabbed one of the boxes she was eyeing earlier. The guy added it to the plastic bag and told her the total.
She then grabbed her wallet from her bag and handed him her credit card.
“Do you have an ID?” he asked.
She rolled her eyes and handed him her ID. He checked and then slides the card. Once the transaction was done she just left, but before she closes the door she came back in and grabbed one of the stores business card and then wrote her name, number, and e-mail on a piece of paper and handed it to the guy and said. “If you have any new shipment can you let me know?”
“Sure.” He said. Then the girl gave him the brightest smile he ever seen.
“Okay then. Thank you! I’ll be seeing you around.” Then she walks out of the door.

Kim Hyun Joong was still staring at the piece of paper that the girl left. So her name is Jayde Lim. He smiles and then he heard the door of the store open again and saw his sister coming in.
“Oppa, why are you smiling too much?” Kim Da Hae asked.
“Nothing really, I just met someone interesting.” He said.
“Someone? Is it a girl?” she asked.
“None of your business.” He said jokingly.
“Oppa met a girl.” She said in a sing song manner.
“Shut up.” He then walks towards the back room.

Jayde was heading home when she noticed a boy swinging slowly on the swing set. She stopped and looked at him. He looks so sad. There’s something about him that pulls her in. Without knowing it, she got her new camera out with the new zoom lens and started taking pictures of the sad boy. She got a lot of good angles. Then she noticed a tear sliding down his cheeks. She slowly put down her camera and packed it up. She then found herself sitting on the other swing beside the boy.
“The moon is so beautiful tonight.” She said out loud to no one.
The boy beside her jump a little bit when he found out he’s not alone anymore. Then he looks up the moon. “Is it? I can’t see well. It’s a bit blurry to me.” He said.
Jayde looks at him and handed him a Kleenex. “It is…here wipe your eyes and look at it again.” She said.
The boy hesitates at first and then took the Kleenex from her. “Thank you.” He said.
Jayde smiles and said, “You are welcome.” Then she stood up and walks away leaving the crying boy.

Jae was pacing back and forth in the living room waiting for Jayde. The other boys are back in their apartment down the hall. He told them that he will let them know when Jayde comes back. He was trying to call her phone again for the nth time when he heard the door open. Then he saw Jayde walking in. He was so relieved that he ran towards her and hugged her really tight.
“Jae, are you alright?” Jayde asked. She felt Jae hugged her tighter.
“Where have you been?” Jae asked once he let go of her.
“I was at school and then I went to the mall to buy something. Why? What’s going on?” Jayde asked.
“Do you even have your phone with you?”
Jayde looks in her bag and searched for her phone. She then found it underneath of all her junk in her bag and showed it to Jae. Then she looks at it and saw she have 74 missed call and 51 messages. She looks back at Jae and asked, “What’s going on?”
“Didn’t you see the reporters earlier in front of the school?”
“Oh! That. Yeah, I saw them earlier. I even talked to one of them too.” She said while dropping her bags on the sofa.
“You talked to them?” Jae looked surprised.
Jayde grinned. She has that mischievous look in her eyes. “Yup I did.” Then she laughs. She then told Jae what she did and Jae just started laughing. Few minutes later he stopped and looks at her seriously.
“The boys and I decided to go back to school tomorrow.” He said.
“No can do.” Jayde said sternly before heading to the kitchen. Jae followed her.
“Why not?” he paused while waiting for Jayde to answer and when she didn’t, “This might distract the reporters.”
Jayde closed the fridge and opened the can of sprite and looks at Jae. “No. You all can’t come to school until Monday. Just wait. If y’all go now they will know that the rumor is true. If y’all don’t pay attention then it will die down. Don’t worry about it Jae. I’m working on it okay?” Jayde walks up to Jae and gave him a kiss on the cheek before heading to their room. Jae knows that she’s right. He just feels useless for doing nothing.

The next day, Jayde left early to school. She wants to see if the reporters are still there. She was a block away from the school when she noticed that the reporters are lesser than yesterday. She smiled. She walks up to the school gate and there this lady asking a few students around about MJ Lim. She walks slowly so that the lady reporter will see her and ask her some questions. It works. The lady saw her and started to come up to her.
“Are you a student here?” the reporter asked.
She nods and looks at her innocently. Then the lady asked again. “Have you heard of MJ Lim?” Jayde shook her head acting all shy. Then Jayde asks her in a soft voice, “Is that the reason y’all are here?” The reporter nods. “I’m not really sure where y’all get this information, but there’s no celebrity who goes to this school. If there is don’t you think everyone would have known already? I think they’re trying to divert you guys somewhere else.” She paused to let what she said to sink in to the lady reporter. “Now, if you excuse me I’ll be late to my class. I hope y’all find this MC Lim of yours.” The lady reporter looked at her weirdly for mispronouncing the name. Then she walks away smiling. She’s having too much fun playing with the reporters.

Jayde decided to go home early today. She was walking pass the park when she saw the same boy sitting on the swing from last night. She decided to see how he is and walks towards him. She sat again to the swing beside him. “Hi.”
The boy looks at her and a surprised look on his face. “Hi.” There was silence for like 5 minutes before the boy heard Jayde said something.
“Why are you here?” Jayde asked.
The boy hesitates for a while before answering. “I don’t want to go home yet.”
“Do you mind me asking why?”
He looks at her as if he’s contemplating if he should say it or not. Then he decided to just say it out. “My father hates me. It was my mom’s death anniversary yesterday. He blames me for her death.” Jayde was quiet for a while. “Around this time he’s anger shows a lot more. He beats me up and telling me that he wishes it was me who died instead of my mom. I’m used to it though, but it keeps getting worse. I can take him down if I want to, but I just can’t because I know my mom won’t like that.” He looks up to the sky and sees the full moon. “It doesn’t help too to see my step brother and sister seeing my dad do those things to me. They think that they can also do what my father does to me. When I fight back I’m always the bad one. In my father’s eyes my step siblings can’t do anything wrong. So, I’m always to blame. Isn’t that funny?” He then looks at Jayde.
Jayde looks back at him and asked. “Why don’t you fight back?”
He laughs, “If I do that then I’m proving them right. That I’m a violent person like what they say.”
Jayde thought about it. She doesn’t like people abusing other innocent people. She looks back and ask, “Do you have any friends? Or other relatives that you can stay at?”
“I do have some close friends, but I don’t want to burden them with my problems when they’re also having some of their own.” He said and then, “About relatives; I don’t know anyone since my father made sure of it, so I won’t have anywhere else to go. He wants me to suffer like he does.”
Jayde started to swing. She can’t believe that there are a lot of abused children here in Korea. She jumped out of the swing and sat in front of the boy. “I know I’m a stranger to you, but I want to help you if you will let me. “ She looks at the boy for any reaction. When she didn’t get any she sighs and pull out a paper and a pen. She wrote down her number and her name and hand it to the young boy. “If your father abused you again or anything at all that hurts you just give me a call. Okay?” She then stood up and looks at the boy for the last time and she walks away.
