I saw the television set open and Yuri sleeping on the couch with her boyfriend. I groaned. She’s invited her boyfriend again. I never really like her boyfriend Leeteuk from the very beginning. Why? Because his a big flirt, he comes to the apartment even if no one, not even Yuri, invited him, and he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the world!
I immediately went in my bedroom and changed my clothes, then went out, pulled a cold slice pizza from the refrigerator and directly went into my room. I didn’t care if I would be eating cold food. I don’t want to be in the living room with that guy. I’d rather lock myself in my room until he’s gone. Besides, it still tastes good.
The next day, I went to the Jung’s house again. I had a conversation with Mr. and Mrs. Jung about the salary for my services. I had to accept, because the fare I was paying the taxi drivers for my transportation was a little big as I have calculated. Besides, I am the one visiting their home because it was needed.
This time, I went to their house earlier. At about 6:30 in the morning I was already at their house drinking coffee. I wanted to see how the scenario is like this house 24/7.
As I sipped the brewed coffee in the living room and Mr. and Mrs. Jung left for the country club in this subdivision, I heard the children race down the steps. First the boy, Eunji, then Haylie and Hadley. Then Sunye, but she was not running along with them.
Sunye politely invited me to join them for breakfast, but I thanked her and said I had already eaten I saw the maids arranging the breakfast on the tray.
If I were to change Yunho, this must be my first step: to train him to eat with his family.
I immediately stood up approached the house maid, then told her that Yunho must eat here. She stopped and I noticed a hint of hesitation on her face. But she nodded her head and arranged the utensils and plates back on the table. The children noticed what she did and looked at each other.
“Your brother’s going to eat with you, you’ll see.” I smiled at them.
Sunye frowned. “He is?”
“Can you make him?” Eunji asked.
“Eunji sounded like he was challenging me. Was Yunho really that hard to persuade?
“W-well…I’ll try to make him.” I smiled. “You need to be close to your brother. He’s not a stranger in this family.”
Sunye stood up from her chair, went to Eunji and unbuttoned his sleeve. My eyes couldn’t believed what I saw. As Sunye pulled up the sleeve, she revealed a scar on Eunji ‘s arm! Three stitches… I think I know what Sunye is trying to say me.
“Six years ago, the devil came to Yunho. He went completely mad,” Sunye narrated. “Eunji came to him, showing him the new drawing he had finished. Yunho pushed him out of the window, and Eunji hit his arm against a rock. But aside from that, he obtained no other injury.”
Sunye smiled “No, ~~~~~~ unnie.(A/N: Unnie means older sister also what a girl calls a "friend" who is older than her in korean). This is our decision. After the incident, we decided to do this. We stay away from him, and he stays away from us. He is part of this decision. He’s the one who wanted to keep distance.”
Now I understand why they are doing this.
“So, you see, ~~~~~ unnie? What you want to do is difficult,” Sunye said to me.
But suddenly, Sunye looked behind her. We saw Eunji clutching her t-shirt and tugging gently at it.
“Is Yunho Hyung (A/N: Hyung-This word is literally translated as "older/elder brother." It can be used to refer to older male relatives (eg: cousins) or close friends as well though) really going to eat with us?” Eunji said with a delighted tone in his voice.
Sunye wanted to say ‘no’! But I can see in her face that she couldn’t resist her brother.
She knelt in front of the chair Eunji was sitting on. “Aren’t you afraid of your brother Eunji? He might hurt you again.”
Eunji’s round, blue eyes narrowed and he frowned a little.
“Hyung didn’t hurt me. The devil did.”
Sunye’s surprised reaction sent everyone quiet, but we all smiled at Eunji. Sunye caressed Eunji’s back and patted his head, then she stood up from her kneeling position and faced me.
“Will you fetch him up for us?” she smiled at me.
I smiled back at her. Then I nodded, hiding the nervousness I felt inside of me.
And so, I turned around and climbed the stairs leading to the corridors. I walked through the hallway, found his door and knocked on it three times.
No answer, so I decided to come in for I recalled that ‘no answer’ means ‘yes’
But as I turned the doorknob, a voice startled me.
