I found a cool place: snack and drinks nook. The name was very common but the kiosk was overflowing with food and drink. Four people fell in line front of me. I immediately stood behind the fourth person.
But just when I was starting to get bored, a man’s voice called my name from behind me.
I turned around and saw Siwon! The guy I went on a date with before I started working for the Jungs. This place must be so popular. Imagine all the friends and acquaintances we meet here!
“Siwon!” I exclaimed. “Wow, what a coincidence.”
“Yeah,” he smiled. “So, how are you?”
“Good, good,” I said as I stepped forward upon seeing the line move in front of me.
“Our first date was really way bizarre!” Siwon recalled.
I laughed along with him. Yeah, he was right.
“Well, I gotta go. See you later.” Siwon waved, then was gone.
I ordered a nacho boat and a juice drink that’s entitled: Berry blast. Everybody was ordering it so I tried to be smart and ordered what everybody liked. As I got the plastic cup and sipped the straw, I figured I was right.
My family and I met at one table, me bringing the food I ordered, Key carrying a hotdog sandwich and iced tea, Mom carrying a pizza slice and softdrink, and Dad carrying a hamburger and coffee shake. We all come from different kiosk. After we had finished eating, we continued touring around the place. Fifth stop: monkey nest. That was the last stop, for my mom got really tired and told us to continue without her.
Just then, my cellphone rang. I saw an unfamiliar cell number. I answered the phone. “Yeoboseyo?”(Hello)
“Yeoboseyo~~~~~?” the voice said. “This is Mrs. Jung.”
“Mrs. Jung!” I said, wondering why she called me. “Is anything wrong?”
“No, not at all,” she said, assuringly, “It’s just that Yunho had his first attack this month and I’m only updating you.”
I can’t quite understand that there is nothing wrong with that, But come on, they must be use to it. Chills ran down my back once I heard he has been attacked again. I became nervous. I wonder what Yunho is liked when he’s attacked.
“How is he? How is Yunho?” I asked.
“It’s okay know. Actually, the attack came later than expected, she informed me. “But anyways, the demon is unpredictable. Father Charlie is here giving Yunho Bible talks.
“Well… okay. Thanks for the call Mrs. Jung.”
She said ‘bye’ and I pressed the button on my phone. I remembered Yunho. He must be feeling weak and controlled again. I wished I was there. But this is my family day, I must enjoy my break. It’s what liked Siwon had said. I never stop working.
The rest of the day was spent taking lots and lots of pictures then napping in the cabin. Key did most of the napping just to hide from his security guard, Sunny. He locked himself up in the air-conditioned cabin and watched TV the whole afternoon inside.
We slept soundly in the cabin with the help of the soft pillows and the cool and relaxing air-conditioners. The animals also kept quiet.
Morning came and we got ready to leave. At 7:30, all of us left the cabin and Safari Resort, with Sunny giving Key endless flying kisses. Teenagers…they could be gross at times. I could see Key shudder.
I never saw Siwon again, though. The last time I saw him was at the kiosk.
This was the sad part. The family car dropped me at my apartment then they left. They gave endless hugs and my mother kissed me, too. Key looked sad as he embraced me.
As I watched their car go farther and father, I felt my heart break. This always happens to me after every family day. I wished I could be with them all the time but they also knew I had to be independent.
It’s very painful. Do you know the most painful kind of hurt that you could ever feel? When you wait and wait for teardrops to fall but they just don’t and you feel like your heart is going to burst?
I sighed upon seeing the car disappear, then I carried my bag inside the apartment.
