"I shall go with you to him." Mrs. Jung was now holding onto my arm and not to her husband's.
We went up the carpetted stairs. The walls were still made wood. Very remarkable. We reached this hallway which was still carpetted. The place is very homey. You fell like you could sleep on the corridors. We walked through the hallway and stopped in front of a large, wooden door. My heart thumped with nervousness.
"I'm nervous." I said to Mrs. Jung, honestly.
She smiled at me.
"Of all the spirit-tamers who went here, you are the first one who admitted you were nervous." she laughed, stressing the 'admitted' word.
"Yunho," she called "May I came in?"
No answer.
"If he doesn't answer, that means 'yes'." Mrs. Jung whispered.
I held onto her arm. "Mrs. Jung?"
"Yes?"
"Don't introduce me as...you know, just introduce me as a friend."
"Sure, honey."
She turned the doorknob and pushed it open. She went inside and pulled me in. I saw the room first. It looked like the room of a lawyer. Books were stacked on the shelves neatly and the desk was like the desk of the president.
And for the first time, I was able to lay my eyes on Yunho. I was expecting his clothes to be torn and ragged, his face to be sweaty and confused, and his arms and feet to be bound with chains. But I was totally wrong. There he sat by the desk, very well groomed. He wore a tux, and his feet were put on the desk. He was reading a book, and his face looked very very kind. He didn't look possessed at all, or at least he wasn't yet.
"Yunho!" his mother ran to him. "Do not put your feet up in front of a visitor!" Mrs. Jung lightly slapped his feet with their shoes on.
Yunho meekly put his feet down, obediently.
"I brought you a friend, Yunho." Mrs. Jung smiled at him as she puled me closer. "This in ~~~~~."
Yunho raised his eyes from the book and looked at me, then read the book again. He looked kind but he was a snob.
"Well, then! I better leave the two of you alone so you my get to know each other." Mrs. Jung smiled. I swallowed hard. What?! Alone?! I wanted to make the Sign of the Cross but I thought it would be disrespectful if I did that in front of them. I whispered a short prayer or guidance and strength.
Mrs. Jung turned to leaved.
"Well, any question?" she smiled.
I Walked closer to her and whispered in her ear. "Why is he wearing a tux?"
Mrs Jung laughed at me. "Well maybe you should ask him."
With those words, she closed the door in front of me.
I hesitated to turn around because he might have already transformed into some kind of demon. But I did turn around.
I stared at him and studied him quietly.
The room was very silent. Even my breathing sounded like noise.
Yunho turned the page. Sound, at last.
"You're younger than all the other people they sent here." Yunho spoke, startling me, but he was still staring at his book.
"U-um...yes," came my lousy reply. I guess the 'friend' trick didn't actually fool him after all. Even if his mother introduce me as a friend, he still knows that I'm a 'spirit tamer'.
Yunho closed his book, placed it on his desk, and looked up at me. "Tell me, whose idea was it to introduce you as a friend: Yours or Hers?"
I paused. Was there something wrong with that? But I answered him nevertheless.
"Mine..." I answered like my students did when they weren't sure of their answer.
"My parents are right." he said "You are different."
I don't think I like this guy. He treats you as if he knows every inch of you: from what you think to what you're planning to do.
"Ask me a question." Yunho instructed me.
Weird, but I thought of a question, anyway
"Why are you wearing a tux?"
Yunho's face seemed rather surprised at my question. Well...I can't blamed him. My First question is pretty weird.
"What?" he asked me
"Why, you don't liked my question?" I blurted.
He paused and stared at me. I swallowed. I can't read this guy. He's totally out of this world. But they're right...There is something wrong with him. I don't feel good when I'm around him.
Yunho picked up the book and started reading again.
"You may go."
Was there something I said?
"W-well, okay..."I said, then I went out of the door.
As the door closed behind me, I took a deep breath. That wasn't such a good first meeting.
I was in the hallway again. I started to find my way out, recalling how we got there in the first place. As I went down the wooden stairs, the people downstairs started moving about once they heard me.
