Chapter 16

A week passed by. Raymond and Tavia’s relationship has been going strong. They were both madly in love with one another and were one happy couple. Raymond’s car was sent to the garage after being towed so in the meantime he was still driving Tavia’s Mini Cooper.

Tavia was sitting in her office going over some document when her phone started to ring. “Hey Ray.” She cried out happily.
“Hi sweetie. I missed you today.” Raymond replied.
“I miss you too.” Tavia giggled.
“What you doing tomorrow? It’s Saturday and I’m meeting Bosco for tennis in the morning. Want to join us?” Raymond asked.
“Tennis? Hm… sure thing. Let me ask if Lei would like to come along as well. She’s better than me in tennis.” Tavia replied.
“Okay. Ask Leila to come along. We can play doubles.” Raymond suggested. “Anyhow, sweetie I have to go now. I’ll call you tonight. Love you.”
“Bye. Love you too.” Tavia smiled.

Tavia got up and walked over to Leila’s room. “Lei, free tomorrow morning for some tennis?”
“Tennis?” Leila raised her eyebrows. “Wanna lose to me again?” Leila laughed.
“Whatever. You were just lucky last time.” Tavia rebutted. “So… free?”
“Sure. I’m always up for tennis.” Leila laughed. “I take it that it won’t be just of us for tennis tomorrow…” Leila grinned.
“Smart girl. Ray’s…” Tavia smiled.
“Ray again…” Leila interrupted.
“Let me finish. I was going to say, Ray AND Bosco are going as well.” Tavia smirked.
“Thank goodness. I’m not the only ‘light bulb’!” Leila laughed.
“Anyhow, I’ll confirm the place with you later on.” Tavia turned around and waved.

Saturday – At the Tennis Courts.
“Wow, Leila… Never knew you were that good in tennis!” Bosco cried out as he high fived Leila since they thrashed Raymond and Tavia 6-0.
“Of course she’s good. She’s the Tennis Team Captain since high school.” Tavia yelled from the other side of the court as they walked towards to the table to take a rest.
“You said she was better than you but I didn’t expect her to be that strong!” Raymond laughed. “And you darling… well…”
“Tavia used to be better. I guess she hasn’t been playing for a long time.” Leila laughed as they all sat down.
“I never said I was good but SOMEONE told me on the phone that they were REALLY good… AHEM…” Tavia mocked.
“Hey, I had to save so many shots since my partner was no good…” Raymond interrupted.
“Who you saying is no good?” Tavia questioned Raymond and hit him playfully on the arms. She pouted and pretended to be angry.
“Aw… sweetie don’t be angry.” Raymond pulled his ears and apologized.
“Fine you’re forgiven.” Tavia said as she hit him on the forehead lightly.
“My girlfriend is sooooo pretty when she smiles.” Raymond chuckled and leaned over to give Tavia a peck on the cheeks.
“PLEASE… there are other people sitting across you guys.” Both Bosco and Leila yelled.
Raymond turned his head and raised his eyebrows. “JEALOUS?” He nevertheless turned back to Tavia and gave her a kiss on the cheeks.
The all laughed.

After lunch, all of them except Bosco went back to Tavia’s house for. Bosco apparently had to meet his girlfriend Sharon.
“Thank you Ling-zeh.” Tavia cried out happily as Ling-zeh opened the door for them. “Hi daddy… we’re back!” Tavia walked over and gave her dad a kiss on the cheeks.
“Hi sweetheart. Hi Leila. And… this must be…” Mr. Yeung got up and shook Raymond’s hand.
“This is Raymond. My boyfriend… and this is my dad.” Tavia blushed as she introduced the two.
“Nice to meet you Uncle.” Raymond smiled.
“The pleasure’s mine.” Mr. Yeung smiled back.
“Where’s Gor?” Tavia asked as they sat on the couch.
“Someone looking for me?” Matt asked as he walked down the stairs.
“Lei…” Tavia pointed at Leila.
Leila nudged Tavia and smiled at Matt. “Hi Matt.”
“Hi Lei…” Matt smiled.
“Oh Gor, this is my boyfriend Raymond. This is my stupid brother Matt.” Tavia introduced the two and stuck her tongue out at Matt.
“Hi Raymond. I wonder what you see in my sister…” Matt laughed as they shook hands.
Raymond took a look at Tavia and laughed. “I’m not too sure myself.”
“RAYMOND LAM. Say that again?!” Tavia cried as she crossed her arms.
“I’m kidding… You’re the best.” Raymond laughed at her cuteness.
“Funny how I never found anything good about sister.” Matt shrugged his shoulders and sat next to Leila.
Tavia whacked her brother on the arm and pulled Raymond to the other couch.
“OUCH… TAVIA!” Matt roared.
“Enough you two. Can’t you two just give me some peace and quiet while I finish reading the papers?” Mr. Yeung interrupted.
“Sorry.” Both Tavia and Matt apologized.
Leila and Raymond observing the Yeung’s family started laughing.
“Tav, do you think your dad would be interested in going to the Orphanage’s Christmas Carnival next week?” Raymond asked Tavia.
“Let me ask.” Tavia replied. “Daddy, you free next Saturday? Raymond would like to invite you to go to an Orphanage’s Christmas Carnival.”
“Yes Uncle. I would love it if you and Matt could join us.” Raymond added.
“Next Saturday…? Hm…” Mr. Yeung said.
“Please daddy… The more the merrier. We’re going to see the little kids perform their Christmas play. It’d be a lot of fun.” Tavia begged.
“Okay, okay sweetheart. I’ll go. Matt you going?” Mr. Yeung turned over to ask his son.
“If you’re going dad, I’ll go as well. Lei, why don’t you go with us.” Matt asked.
“Yeh… Lei come with us.” Tavia added.
“Sure.” Leila replied.
“That’s good. Both our families are going to be there.” Raymond said happily.

A bit later on, Tavia got up and dragged Leila to the kitchen to help Ling-zeh with preparing dinner while the 3 men sat in the living room talking about cars, music, etc.
“Hey seems like Uncle likes Raymond.” Leila whispered to Tavia.
“Yep. I’m happy that they both like Raymond.” Tavia smiled happily as they carried the dishes out. “Dinner’s ready.” Tavia yelled.

At the dinner table. Observing the chicken dish closely Matt suddenly said, “How come the left drumstick is missing…?”
Everyone’s attention turned to the chicken.
Matt raised his eyebrows. “Tavia?”
Raymond laughed. “Oh no… seems like someone’s been stealing in the kitchen. Do we have a suspect and enough evidence?”
“Uncle you’re the judge… should we bring the suspect forward?” Leila grinned.
“TAVIA!” Matt exclaimed.
“NOT ME! I’m innocent!” Tavia cried out.
“Guilty or not, we’ll have to go through a trial first. Dad what do you say?” Matt asked.
“Ray… it’s not me.” Tavia whined. “I’m innocent daddy.”
Mr. Yeung shrugged his shoulders. “Sorry sweetheart. So are you going to find yourself a lawyer?”
“I’m a lawyer. I’m going to defend myself.” Tavia protested.
“Ho ho… then it’s likely you’ll be guilty then.” Mr. Yeung laughed.
“GOOD. Tavia will wash the dishes tonight.” Matt exclaimed and clapped.
“WHY? Not fair!” Tavia whined. “Ray… they’re bullying me.” She pouted.
“Aww… sweetie. I’ll help wash the dishes with you then.” Raymond comforted Tavia who let out a smile after hearing what Raymond said. “At least I have a boyfriend who’s willing to help out. Some kind of brother I have…”
Matt shrugged his shoulder and smirked. Everyone laughed including Tavia.
After dinner, Tavia and Raymond helped out with the washing. When they finished, they joined Matt and Leila for a movie.
