Chapter 20

Tavia giggled and led Raymond to the bed. He looked at the bed and raised his eyebrows. “Stop grinning!” Tavia demanded. “Not what you think!”
“Aw…?!” Raymond asked.
Tavia bent down and picked up her bag which was lying on the bed. “I only wanted to get my bag!” she laughed. “Nothing more!”
Raymond blushed. “I know.”
Tavia opened her bag and took out a little box. “Just a little something for you.”
Raymond smiled and hugged Tavia. “Thank you. I knew you wouldn’t forget my present. Can I open it?”
“Of course.” Tavia laughed.
Raymond unwrapped the present and opened the box. He looked at the black leather wallet in the box and smiled happily. “How did you know I needed a new wallet?”
“I am your girlfriend. I notice things.” Tavia smiled. “Do you like it?”
“Of course!” Raymond exclaimed.
“Open the wallet and see.” Tavia urged him.
Raymond opened the wallet and saw a picture of him and Tavia. It was a picture they took at the orphanage’s carnival. He looked at the picture and looked at her.
“Now you can see my face anywhere you go!” Tavia giggled.
“Thank you sweetie. I’m going to start using it now.” Raymond cried out happily as he walked over to his desk and picked up his old wallet. Sitting back on the bed next to Tavia, he emptied his old wallet and transferred everything to the new one.
“Hey, isn’t this my name card?” Tavia picked up her name card when Raymond emptied his wallet. “It’s the meal coupon. You still have it?”
“I haven’t redeemed it yet. Plus, it’s the first thing you gave me… I mean other than the box of tissue. This card marks the first step in our relationship. How can I ever throw it away?” Raymond smiled.
“You’re so silly.” Tavia smiled.
“I’m only silly in front of you.” Raymond hugged Tavia tightly and all of a sudden, they heard everyone downstairs cry out ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’. “Merry Christmas Tav.” Raymond whispered into Tavia’s ear.
“Merry Christmas Ray.” Tavia said as they broke away. “Let’s go down now before they all think we disappeared.”
“Anything you say!” Raymond said as he got up and pulled Tavia up.

Months passed by. Raymond and Tavia’s relationship has been going very smoothly. They had the occasional little fights but then Raymond would always give in since he was of no match against Tavia when it comes to arguing. Furthermore, the little fights only made their relationship stronger but on the other hand, one could not really categorize them as fights since it was usually Raymond making fun of Tavia and Tavia pretending to be angry. There was only one word to describe their relationship at the moment… SWEET.

“Yeung Dai-jong…” Raymond cried out happily when Tavia walked out of the courtroom.
Tavia turned around and saw Raymond. She turned back to her assistant Chris. “I’ll see you tomorrow. My boyfriend’s here to pick me up.” Tavia smiled happily.
“Oh so that’s your boyfriend. Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow. Let me go over and talk to our clients. You can leave first. Let me handle the rest.” Chris smiled at Raymond and walked off.
When Chris walked away, Raymond walked forward.
“What brings you here today, Mr. Lam?” Tavia smiled. “Did someone sue you?”
“Do you really wish that someone would sue me?” Raymond crossed his arms.
“I wouldn’t mind. Gives us more business!” Tavia giggled.
“I’m here to pick my girlfriend up, Yeung Dai-jong. Do you happen to know where she is?” Raymond chuckled as he helped Tavia with her briefcase.
“Let me find out you have another girlfriend, I’m going to bite your head off!” Tavia pouted.
Seeing Tavia’s angry face, Raymond laughed and put his arms around her. “You’re the only one… I would never dare find another!”
“That’s more like it!” Tavia giggled.
Raymond leaned forward and was about to give her a peck on the cheeks when Tavia stopped him. “We’re still in the public. Can’t let my clients see me like this.” Tavia put on her professional look and walked off.
Raymond looked at the serious looking Tavia followed behind and started laughing. “Wait up Yeung Dai-jong.”

Inside the car, Raymond asked Tavia, “What time should I pick you up on Saturday?”
“Saturday? What’s going on then?” Tavia asked.
“Company’s Annual Ball, remember?” Raymond chuckled.
“Oh that’s right. Your parents mentioned something about the annual ball coming up last week when we had dinner. Sorry… busy week.”
“It’s okay. Uncle and Matt both said they’re going. It’d be weird if my girlfriend didn’t go.” Raymond smiled.
“Of course I’m going.” Tavia smiled. “If I didn’t go, my boyfriend might find some other girl as his partner!”
Raymond looked at Tavia and grinned. “You know I wouldn’t dare!”
“Let’s hope you mean what you say!” Tavia giggled.
“So is Leila going as Matt’s partner?” Raymond asked.
“Yep. I would think so.” Tavia replied immediately. “Sometimes I really don’t understand what goes through my brother’s mind. It’s so obvious that Leila likes him and he likes Leila. Just wonder why he can never get enough courage to ask her to be his girlfriend!” Tavia sighed.
“Not everyone is as brave and frank as me. Confessing my love to the girl of my dreams!” Raymond boasted.
Tavia pretended to throw up. “Ugh… you call that being brave?”
“Hey it took an awful lot of courage… plus I had a lot of sincerity as well. Or else you wouldn’t have said YES.” Raymond pouted.
“Thinking back, remembering how nervous you looked then… I can’t help but bring myself to smile.” Tavia giggled. “But that’s also one of the reasons why I love you!”
Raymond smiled when he heard Tavia say she loved him. “So what time should I pick you up on Saturday?”
“Um… 6:30. Is that okay? Or should we arrive earlier?” Tavia asked.
“Sure. The party doesn’t really start till 7:30. Will Uncle be ready by then?” Raymond asked.
“Don’t worry. Daddy said he’s going to get Ah-Chung (The name of their driver) to drive him. Matt’s going to pick Leila up so he’s going off by himself. So that leaves me…”
“Okay. I’ll pick you up at 6:30 then.” Raymond smiled happily.
