Chapter 27

Later on in the day.
Tavia opened Raymond’s door quietly and tiptoed over to his bed. She looked at the sleeping Raymond and smiled. Without any doubt, he looked much better without the bandages wrapped around his head. With as little movement as possible, she sat on the bed and kissed his forehead lightly. “Wake up sleepy head.” She whispered into his ears.
Raymond twitched his nose and gradually opened his eyes. “You’re back.” He mumbled as he rubbed his eyes. “I was a good boy. I fell immediately after you left.” Raymond boasted as he sat upright.
“Very good.” Tavia giggled as she helped Raymond sit upright.
“So what’s the little surprise you got for me?” Raymond cried out happily and widened his eyes.
“Here.” Tavia reached for her bag and took out a white envelope.
Raymond observed the white envelope and raised his eyebrow. “Are you going to fire me from my post as your boyfriend?”
“Open it and see for yourself.” Tavia shrugged her shoulders.
Raymond opened the envelope and took out two tickets. “Wow… two round trip business class tickets to London!” Raymond exclaimed as he waved them in the air.
“You look as though you hit the jackpot.” Tavia giggled.
“So you coming with me?” Raymond laughed.
“Um… I was actually thinking of going with my boyfriend. Not YOU!” Tavia smirked.
“Hehe… so it’s me!” Raymond laughed and hugged Tavia who just laughed. “So when are we going?” Raymond asked as he pulled Tavia next to him.
“Any time after I’m done with this case I’m currently handling.” Tavia replied.
Raymond placed his arms around Tavia and pointed at the tickets. “How come they’re only business class tickets?” He chuckled.
“Hey I had to pay for the tickets with my own money. I don’t earn as much as you do!” Tavia exclaimed as she crossed her arms. “Plus I usually travel on business anyway. Not as spoilt as you are!”
“I’m just kidding!!!” Raymond laughed.
“By the way, I only got tickets. You’ll have to find your own accommodation in London.” Tavia grinned.
“Huh? How come? Where are you going to stay?” Raymond asked curiously.
“At my boyfriend’s house!” Tavia giggled.
“BOYFRIEND?” Raymond grinned and tickled Tavia who started squirming for help.
“Okay I’m just kidding. I’m staying at home in London.” Tavia replied as she tried to catch her breath. “You’ll have to book a hotel room for yourself!” Tavia grinned.
“Aw… why can’t I stay with you?” Raymond whined.
“Nah… just in case Mr. Lam starts to complain about my house being too small.” Tavia smirked.
“I promise I won’t!!” Raymond cried out immediately.
“But I only have one en-suite bedroom. Do you mind taking the storeroom?” Tavia laughed.
“Can’t I sleep with you?” Raymond grinned back.
“Nope. We’re not married yet!” Tavia smiled. “You got four choices. The hotel room, the storeroom, the couch or the floor.”
“The FLOOR… IN YOUR ROOM!” Raymond exclaimed.
“Deal!” Tavia took her hand out and shook hands with Raymond. They both looked at what they were doing and started laughing.

Wednesday – In a shopping mall.
Raymond and Tavia were shopping after work since it was Matt’s birthday very soon. When they walked into a boutique, Raymond spotted Nancy standing outside the changing rooms.
“Hey Lang-mui!” Raymond said as he and Tavia walked over to Nancy.
“Hi Nancy.” Tavia smiled.
“Oh hi…” Nancy replied. “Glad you’re okay now Raymond-Gor.”
“Yeh. So who you waiting for Lang-mui? Shopping with Bosco?” Raymond asked.
“Um…” Nancy muttered.
“I think I know the answer.” Tavia smiled.
“Who?” Raymond asked Tavia.
Tavia pointed over at the changing rooms and spotted Ron walk out. Nancy blushed.
“Oh my goodness. Lang-mui… since when?” Raymond chuckled.
Tavia nudged him slightly and waved at Ron who was walking over. “Hey Ron.” Tavia smiled.
“Hey you guys. What you two doing here?” Ron asked Raymond and Tavia and then looked at Nancy.
“Shopping of course.” Tavia giggled. “I’m here to buy something for Matt.”
“Oh that’s right. Matt’s birthday is coming up soon.” Ron said.
“Yep. Tavia’s thinking of throwing him a party at home on Saturday.” Raymond added.
“Yeh why don’t you and Nancy join us. Bosco and Sharon are coming as well.” Tavia suggested.
“Um… what do you think?” Ron asked Nancy who was blushing.
“Sure.” Nancy mumbled.
Raymond observed the two and laughed. “You know what? Why don’t you two join us for dinner tonight as well?”
“Um… but we’ll be light bulbs to you and Tavia.” Nancy asked.
“Hey no worries. I see enough of him all the time. It’d be nice to have more people to join us for dinner. We can order more… unless you guys would like to spend some time alone.” Tavia grinned and gave Ron and light hit on the arms.
“We’re just friends.” Nancy replied immediately. “Sure we’ll join you guys for dinner, right?” Nancy looked over at Ron who replied with a nod.
“Okay, why don’t we meet you guys half an hour later over at that restaurant on third floor?” Tavia suggested as she grabbed Raymond’s hand and dragged him along.
“Sounds good. See you guys later!” Ron replied as he and Nancy walked over to the cashier to pay for the clothes Ron tried on earlier on.
Raymond seeing that Ron and Nancy walked out of the shop turned over to Tavia immediately. “Wow… seems like Ron and Nancy…”
“They actually look really good together.” Tavia replied as she picked out a navy blue striped tie out.
“I know. I wonder when they started going out.” Raymond chuckled.
“Why are you so nosy?” Tavia asked as she tried to match the tie with the shirt Raymond was currently wearing.
“Coz Nancy’s like a little sister to me!” Raymond laughed.
“Do you think Matt will like this tie?” Tavia asked as she ran her fingers across the tie rack.
“I don’t know about Matt but I like it.” Raymond smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist. “Hint, hint… I like it.”
“Hm… I think Matt will like this green and blue tie more.” Tavia smiled. She took both ties and walked over to the cashier. Raymond smiled and followed behind.
She handed the ties over to the lady behind the cashier. “I’ll have this tie and the Mister behind me said he’ll have this tie.” Tavia smiled at Raymond.
“You not going to buy me a tie?” Raymond pouted.
“You have plenty of money. You can buy it yourself.” Tavia smiled.
“But… it won’t be from my girlfriend.” Raymond whined.
Tavia laughed. “Of course I’ll buy it.” She took the tie from Raymond’s hand and handed it back to the cashier. “I’ll take this one as well. Can you please take the tag off for me? He’s going to use it now.” Tavia smiled and gave the lady her credit card. Tavia took the blue tie and helped Raymond put it on. Raymond smiled happily as Tavia helped him fix the tie. “There you go. You look good.” The cashier returned her card and the tie in the bag.
“Of course. My girlfriend has great taste.” Raymond grinned as he looked at his new tie through the mirror.
“Let’s go Ray.” Tavia giggled. Raymond took Tavia’s hand and walked happily out of the store.
