Chapter 28

In the restaurant.
Raymond and Tavia walked into the restaurant and spotted Ron and Nancy. “Hey you two.” Raymond cried out happily as he patted Ron on the shoulder.
“Hey.” Both Ron and Nancy replied.
“Been waiting for long?” Tavia asked as she sat herself down.
“Nah. Just got here a minute before you guys arrived.” Ron smiled as he sipped his glass of water. “So Raymond, how are you? I see you’re recovering very well.”
“Haha… of course! I’m a tough guy. As to that car which hit me… let’s just say I’m a lot luckier!”
“Stop bragging.” Tavia giggled as she nudged Raymond. “You’re lucky that the driver wasn’t driving fast! Or else, let’s see what ‘Raymond the Road Pancake’ has to say!” Tavia continued.
“If I really turned out to be a ROAD PANCAKE, what would you do, sweetie?” Raymond laughed.
“I’ll just pour some maple syrup over you and EAT you!” Tavia giggled.
“Aw…” Raymond pouted.
“You two never seem to stop fighting, do you?” Nancy laughed.
“Tell me about it?!” Ron added. Everyone at the table laughed.
“Anyhow, let’s see what there is to eat here.” Raymond cried out happily as he read the menu.
“Nancy, what would you like to eat?” Ron asked.
“Um… I don’t know. What do you recommend?” Nancy looked at Ron and smiled.
“Oh the rib-eye steak looks good! I think I’ll have that. What you having Tav?” Raymond cried out.
“No. You’re not allowed beef. Your mom said you can’t eat any beef because you just had an operation. Why don’t you take the grilled salmon steak instead.” Tavia smiled.
“Okay. Whatever you say… MOM!” Raymond chuckled.
Tavia hit him playfully on the arm. “Hah. I don’t want the groom to look bad on my wedding day. Look at that scar on your forehead. I might have to use extra concealer and foundation to cover it up!” Tavia giggled.
“Hey wouldn’t a scar on my forehead simply just make me look more masculine?” Raymond winked. “I thought you liked it!”
“Ugh… PLEASE… Raymond Lam please don’t try to humiliate yourself by talking nonsense!” Tavia exclaimed.
Raymond wrapped his arms around Tavia and laughed.
“AHEM… do you two realize that you guys are actually in the public?” Ron chuckled.
Tavia and Raymond looked at Ron and Nancy. “You can try doing that with Nancy.” Raymond winked.
Nancy and Ron blushed. “Stop making fun of them. Sit properly Ray.” Tavia giggled.
“Okay, okay… You two ready to order?” Raymond chuckled as he called the waiter over. They both nodded and smiled at each other.

In Raymond’s car.
“Seems like Ron and Nancy are getting along quite well with each other.” Raymond said.
“Yep. Like I said before, they actually look pretty good together.” Tavia smiled.
“I agree but of course we look way better together. No one can beat us.” Raymond looked at Tavia and winked.
“Please…” Tavia moaned.
Raymond laughed at Tavia’s reaction. “So let’s leave for London next weekend.” Raymond suggested.
“Next weekend?” Tavia asked.
“Uh huh. You said you’ll be done with your case by Friday. Matt’s birthday is on Saturday, so I say next week would be the best time. Give you a week to settle your stuff before we leave.” Raymond explained.
“Hm… I guess next week should be fine.” Tavia smiled. “I can’t wait to take a break off work.”
“Yep and to make your break better, you’re travelling with ME!” Raymond boasted.
“Again…!” Tavia moaned.

Next Saturday – On the plane to London.
“I can’t wait to get to London.” Tavia said happily.
“Me too. I’m really looking forward to spending a whole week with you!” Raymond grinned. “I got lots planned!”
“Take that evil look off your face.” Tavia giggled.
“Haha… okay. So what you planning to do in London?” Raymond asked.
“Shop. We should start preparing for our wedding. There must be something that we need to buy.” Tavia smiled happily as she flipped the magazine open.
“Sounds good. We’ll do that. I’m so excited!” Raymond chuckled. “Another 10 hours to go and then we’ll be in London.” Raymond looked at his watch.
Tavia yawned. “I’m sleepy. Let’s get some rest sweetie.”
“But I’m so excited. I can’t sleep.” Raymond chuckled.
“It’s already 2am Hong Kong time. If you don’t get some rest now, you’ll be really tired when we arrive in the morning.” Tavia explained as she tried to make herself comfortable by placing the seat back and lifting her leg rest up. “I’m going to leave you with your movie. Goodnight sweetie.” Tavia kissed Raymond and closed her eyes.
“Goodnight.” Raymond kissed Tavia back and held onto her hand.

The following morning – In Tavia’s apartment in London.
“I’m so sleepy!” Raymond yawned as he dragged the bags into the house.
“I told you to get some sleep.” Tavia replied as she moved her bag into her bedroom.
Raymond wandered around the apartment. “Nice apartment you got here.”
“Not too small?” Tavia giggled.
“Nope. Not at all.” Raymond chuckled.
“I lived here when I was studying in University here. My dad bought me this apartment since they kick you out of the dorm in your second and third year.” Tavia said as she unpacked.
Raymond walked into her bedroom. “So where do I sleep?” Raymond asked as he hugged Tavia from behind.
Tavia pointed on the floor and giggled.
“Aw… but the bed looks really big and comfy. I’m sure it can fit the two of us.” Raymond whined.
“We’ll see. Anyhow, unpack first sweetie. After we’re done, let’s go to Chinatown for some dimsum.” Tavia urged Raymond to get moving.
“DIMSUM? But we just came from Hong Kong.” Raymond looked at her curiously.
“Haha… that’s right. I keep thinking that I’m back to my studying times. Dimsum on Saturday!” Tavia giggled. “Who cares?! We’ll just head off to Leicester Square first.”
“Sounds good. We can walk over to Regent Street to do our shopping after lunch at Chinatown.” Raymond replied as he started to unpack.
“You’re not tired?” Tavia asked.
“Um… kinda. But you know what you could do to wake me up?” Raymond grinned.
“Uh-huh. Having me slap you on the face would definitely wake you up.” Tavia laughed.
“NO. So violent!” Raymond exclaimed. “A kiss from the pretty Tavia Yeung would brighten my day plus wake me up!”
“When did you become such a sweet-talker?” Tavia walked over to Raymond and placed her hands on his face. Raymond wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes. Tavia leaned forward and kissed him on the lips lightly. “There. Happy?” she giggled.
“A bit. Maybe one more might be better.” Raymond winked.
“So greedy. Let’s go. Stop playing!” Tavia hit him lightly on the forehead and turned around. Raymond stood there laughing.

Later on in the evening – Back in Tavia’s apartment after Dinner.
Raymond walked out of the bathroom after his shower and looked at Tavia who was already in bed reading. He walked over and jumped onto the bed.
“Ray… I’m trying to read here!” Tavia smacked Raymond on the arm. “Plus, I made your bed already.” Tavia grinned as she pointed on the floor.
“Aw…” Raymond sulked as he rolled off the bed to the mattress on the floor.
“Sweetie, we’re not married yet!” Tavia giggled.
“Fine. I’m a gentleman. Goodnight!” Raymond exclaimed as he pulled the duvet over his head.
Tavia started laughing. She rolled over and looked at Raymond who covered his head with the duvet and pretended to be snoring. “Do you really think I’m that mean?”
Raymond uncovered himself slowly and raised his eyebrow.
“I’m just kidding. You can take the other half of my bed. Get up silly boy!” Tavia giggled.
Raymond jumped up. “I knew you wouldn’t let me sleep on the floor.” Raymond jumped onto the bed again.
“You’re allowed to sleep on the bed only if you promise me something!” Tavia looked at Raymond.
Raymond looked back and raised his eyebrow again.
“Stop jumping onto the bed!” Tavia exclaimed.
“That’s it…? Haha… I promise.” Raymond laughed as he hugged Tavia.
“Don’t try to do anything naughty either!” Tavia added.
“How do we define ‘naughty’?” Raymond asked as he tried to make himself comfortable next to Tavia.
“You know exactly what I mean!” Tavia grinned as she poked him on the stomach.
“No… I really don’t!” Raymond chuckled as he hit the lights.
“Hey… I’m still reading!” Tavia shouted.
“Nah… you’re tired. Let’s sleep sweetie.” Raymond threw his arms around Tavia and reached for the book in her hands. He grabbed hold of the book and threw it on the floor. “We’ll let the book sleep on the floor tonight!” Raymond chuckled.
“Now I regret letting you sleep next to me!” Tavia giggled in the dark.
“Too LATE… Muhaha!” Raymond laughed.
